i was just tinking about some of the great once and i had a thought....

look at Wilt and see what he does and u can see that now his skill is shared bw all players in the nba, no one has all of them

uhave blocks like ben wallce, yao, bradly
scoring -tman, kobe kg shaq
assits-kidd, miller
rebounting ben wallace, shaw
steels- AI

1st, I would like to correct that it is Chamberlain, :) .

2nd, the Steals and blocks started to be compiled in the 70's so the league doesn't have records of how good Wilt was on those when he was young.

3rd, notice that even I'm not comparing Shaq with Wilt, Shaq has all those stats that you mentioned, of course not with the same wilt numbers but none of those you mentioned are putting Wilt numbers.

Not a single player will ever get to put Wilt numbers in every area Wilt did, and I'm trying to be optimist when I say no a single player.

Rodman had few seasons averaging 18 rebs per game, notice this is the lowest average Wilt ever had in his career. Again people will come with the idiotic comments that he was the tallest, so I'm going to ask them to keep waiting for today's tallest (Yao, Bradley, Big Z) players to accomplish anything like that which will take forever.

In scoring, nobody will ever get to the 30,000 points in just 14 seasons. Wilt has records in single season and in his career that nobody will ever get to touch. I don't know if it's lazyness of today's players or that Wilt was too much of a player to set those records but people just keep trying to minimize them to make him look like an idiot when they see nobody else will ever get there and with those comments they are just admitting the greatness of Wilt.

Wilt was the tallest and strongest which certainly is an advantage. However I think he faced better big men than what shaq does

As for your comment no one will get to 30 000 in 13 seasons... didnt mj?

Jordan reached 30000 in his 14th season, but after fewer games than Wilt. Similarly, MJ passed Wilt for third in all-time career points after fewer games (I believe 5-10 fewer games).

but did you include his 94-95 "season" ?

Sun Apr 13, 2003 9:00 pm

Yes, and his 85/86 season. After all, he did see action in both of those campaigns, scoring a total of 865 points in 35 games. Even with limited appearances in those seasons, he still surpassed Wilt's total in fewer games - but at the same time, in more seasons than Wilt.

it has been calculeated that is MJ was to play for full 19 years he would have passed all the scring reconrds including Jabbar;s but a few hundrts!!

Sun Apr 13, 2003 10:19 pm

Yeah, if he played the same amount of games Kareem did (1560) with his career scoring average (30.2), he would have 47112 - eclipsing Kareem's mark by close to 10000. Easier calculated mathematically than done. Jordan did however surpass Kareem for the all-time playoff scoring lead back in 1998.

Well, if you guys want to disq. the years MJ played less games, we should do the same thing with Wilt who played just 12 games in the 69-70 season. However the statement of getting to the 30,000 in less games sounds fear.

I beg the differ there bballer.
KG gets 22ppg 13rpg 6apg 1.4bpg 1.5spg, i think that is someone who has all of them.
t-mac and kobe also do, minus the blocks.
jason kidd.
they may not be major numbers in rebounds like wilt had, but the others are there.

Exactly, which is why I did include the two seasons where MJ saw limited action. More seasons, but fewer games. In any event, both scored more points than say, Tom Tolbert.

While KG is a great player, this is not even near 30ppg, 22rpg and 4.4apg (over wilt's entire career) not to mention things like shooting 72% over a season, or the blocks and steals he got but weren't recorded back then.
