Breaking News: LA Lakers Announce Affiliation with Breast Cancer Awareness

Image

By RICK O'SHEA, Associated Press Writer
AP - 15 minutes ago

13 Oct, Los Angeles - The Los Angeles Lakers' new General Manager William Sit has just completed a 20 minute press conference to the American media. The topics on agenda included introdcuing himself, outlining the expectations he had in the Lakers' franchise and plans he had for the upcoming season.

William Sit, 17 may have made more of an arse of himself rather than made any good impression during the entire press conference. He was accompanied by fellow teenager and Lakers' rookie Andrew Bynum. The two seemed to be trying as hard as they could to outdo eachother with Kobe Bryant and Phil Jackson both looking at the two. As Brian Shaw commented, "That's the first time someone shut Kobe up."

Sit started the press conference stating his goals of having Kobe Brynat win the MVP award. He said, "Kobe's my boy and we're going to have a swell time playing in LA." Sit looked over at Kobe and the star guard just shrugged back before Sit said, "Yeah, the food's got to get better around here. It stinks and we're all lucky I get it for free or I'd sue." Bynum looking pleased with himself added, "Yeah, I got something called tomato sauce in my hot dog. I asked for ketchup!"

Sit announced that the team planned to associate itself with Breast Cancer Awareness. Sit's comments were as follows: "The LA Lakers will wear a hot pink wristband in order to support breast cancer awareness for the entire duration of the NBA regular season."

Bynum then spoke up, "Hey boss, that's a little bit too hardcore." The room erupted with laughter as Sit hit Bynum in the head, "Hey it's for a good cause." Bynum looked dully at Sit and replied, "I like breasts."

Sit only sighed in frustration, "Don't we all?"

It was understood that the Lakers' players will wear a pink band on their left wrists and a red one on their right. "Red is for AIDS awareness. As you all know Magic Johnson is a guy we all care for and he is suffering of AIDS," Sit started, "We hope that this new charitable approach our team is taking will be the begginning of bigger rewards."

Bynum unexpectedly reacted to this by saying, "But AIDS are good." Sit stared and asked why and Bynum just responded, "I saw it on Team America."

Sit closed the conference by wishing the rest of the League well. "I think our team is just too elite for the rest of the NBA."

After this press conference, many are wondering what direction the franchise is taking. For once, David Stern is wishing that Kobe Bryant was speaking. The question is how the Lakers will be portrayed in the media. Will Will Sit's antics cover up Kobe Bryant? And is Andrew Bynum as stupid as he speaks?

Sit, go with the USB PS2 converted, that's what I have and it works wonders (Y) you'll struggle to find a better controller than the PS2 one and I find the decent PC ones that work are too expensive and seem/feel awkward....although I have been use to the PS/PS2 controllers for the last 7 years or so

if you already have a PS2 controller then I suggest just spending the $20-$25 and getting the adaptor....is cheaper than forking out double to quadruple that for a PC controller for one game....

hope I helped....

Thanks X, I can always rely on you! Any idea in brissie i can get one?

Wed Sep 21, 2005 11:30 pm

I got my from the Games Warehouse website and got it delivered....it's not an official brand, just a generic one....I think it actually cost me closer to $30 but I've heard you can get them cheaper than that....I wouldn't know as far as stores, but EB or some random computer stores would likely have some sort, although they're probably a little bit more expensive....

happy hunting

Wed Sep 21, 2005 11:34 pm

Hah, you lost against the Raptors. I'd usually be cheering you on, but Villaneuva and Graham played quite well, and we all know I'm a biased Raptors fan, so I'm pretty satisfied that you lost. :)

Nice Preseason Start Sit, I look foward to the start of the season. Your PG problems arent really that big since you have Odom as your Bull carrier most of the time, altho I pose it would be nice to have some insurance at the PG spot.

Thu Sep 22, 2005 10:33 am

Tough loss to the Raptors man! And nice article!

Thu Sep 22, 2005 3:59 pm

Hey Sit, Good luck with this dynasty! You are so freaking lucky cause you got the game!! Damn you! Anyways, everything's looking great so far. kepp it up!

Thu Sep 22, 2005 4:04 pm

Sit Said:

When you say Mr Sit, I think Mr West on Kanye's album at the end of the first skit

I guess you had to work Kanye into your dynasty thread somewhere lol. perhaps new owner :o

and i guess what you were saying on msn about having to lock up on defense to have any chance is true.

btw, at harvey norman, you can pick up a ps2esque PC controller for, i think it was $30. the downside is the start and select are on the back, where you hold it, can get pretty annoying, but yeah. the ps2 adapter sounds better, but i just thought id let you know.

bad luck with the loss, Kobe and Pippen (Odom) are still dominating though.

the write ups are sick, and the pics all good, keep up tha good work Mr. West.

- We will see what I have up my sleeve for the virtual Lakers! Odom is doing fine though and I think I will use Sasha a lot more... in fact, I will start Vujavic in the next game against Houston!
