McGrady pushes this series to a Game 5 showdown

Image

Magic guard Tracy McGrady showed no fear against the Wizards, as he would not give up without a fight in Game 4. McGrady scored a team high 24 points and led the Magic to a victory and sending this series back to Orlando for a Game 5 showdown. The Wizards fans showed their love and support for Michael Jordan as Game 4 could what have be the last home game for Jordan to ever to play in the MCI Center. Jordan scored 16 points but it wasn’t enough as his team came up short in the end. Jordan said, “It was a disappointed loss and I would love to move on to the second rounds. I respected for the fans here and I want to say thankyou for their support and the organization.” Jerry Stackhouse who scored a game high 39 points continues to be the main Wizards scorer but his 2 turnovers in the final seconds costed the Wizards. There is a possession where he could not catch the pass from Hughes, and the other one where he was called for an offensive foul. “I felt that I should take responsibility for this loss”, said Stackhouse. Both Giricek and Garrity hit 7 treys and scored 23 and 21 respectively.

In the first quarter, both teams hitting shots after shots as no team were able to take a lead of more than 6 points. Michael Jordan scored 7 points and Jerry Stackhouse scored 13 points as the Wizards was able to keep the game close. After Gordon Giricek picked up two quick fouls in the first quarter, Doc Rivers immediately send Pat Garrity to the floor. Garrity quickly responded by scoring 15 points with 5 from downtown as the first quarter ended with the score tied at 26. In the second quarter, both team fought hard, especially Giricek, who hits 4 treys and showed no fear shooting against Stackhouse who played good defence on him. McGrady also contributed as he scored 7 points and had 4 assists while Shawn Kemp had 8 rebounds by the end of the first half. The Wizards still lead 55-53 at the end of the first half.

In the second half, this belongs to the Magic. McGrady single handily control the third quarter as he scored 12 of his 24 points on 5/5 shootings. McGrady was on fire, as the Wizards had no answer for him. Kemp was also a factor as he continues to dominated on the boards, Kemp finished the game with 10 points, 15 rebounds and a career playoff best 8 steals. Kemp was very aggressive on the defensive ends as he stole a lot of careless pass from the Wizards. Stackhouse would not let his team down as he scored 11 points in the third quarter and 9 points in the final period. The Wizards somehow took the lead at the start of the fourth quarter but Garrity clutch shootings kept the Magic in the lead. With McGrady misfired a 3 and Kemp grabbed a crucial offensive rebound that got fouled by Kwame, Kemp hits both free throws. McGrady said, "I am glad that we pulled even and now we will go home, and we will need to come out again and win this series". The Wizards still had a chance to take the lead when the Magic is still leading 103-102. But Stackhouse careless turnovers in the final seconds costed the Wizards as the Magic survived from elimination and defeated the Wizards 105-102. The series are tied at 2-2. Game 5 is next in Orlando.

Yeah, the Magic played well as a team where everybody steps up their game. As long as McGrady is scoring, Garrity and Giricek hits some 3s, Kemp scoring and rebounding. The Magic might have a chance to defeat the Wizards in Game 5. Stay tuned.

Thanx for your support SAC-1. Yeah, I was so nervous when I was playing Game 4, fortunately I won that game. Good to see the Magic are hitting over 50% on their 3s. Kemp brings all the experiences in the playoffs and when he steps up, he can make a big impact in the game. Thanks for the c'mon.

Game 5 Wizards VS Magic Preview

The series are tied at 2-2

Whether they are playing offence or defence, each of them played their best as they can as they bring this series back to Orlando. I am proud of them.” Meanwhile the Wizards fans were very emotional after seeing the Wizards failed to win the series. Michael Jordan last home game playing in from of his fans might be over unless the Wizards can pull out a win in Game 5. Jordan said, “Whether we will win Game 5 or not, I want to thankyou for all the fans seeing me playing in these 2 years. Until then, I want to pass the torch to today superstars.”

The winner in this series will face the Philadelphia 76ers in the next round after the Sixers had made a big upset to the 1st seeded New Jersey Nets in the first round of the 2003 playoffs. The Sixers finished off the Nets in four games, 3-1.

Michael Jordan say goodbye to the NBA

Image Image

Michael Jordan’s career comes to an end after the Magic defeated the Wizards in Game 5 of the first round playoffs. One of the greatest players in NBA history played the final game of his illustrious career Thursday night, not in the setting that he would have preferred but in a special atmosphere nonetheless. Jordan's final moment on the court ended with him receiving applause and a lengthy standing ovation from nearly everyone in the arena, including the coaches and the other players. "Now I guess it hits me that I'm not going to be in a uniform anymore and that's not a terrible feeling," Jordan said afterward. "It's something that I've come to grips with, and it's time. This is the final retirement." Jordan finished with 21 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals, drawing several adoring ovations from the last sellout crowd that will ever watch him play.

In the first quarter, McGrady and Stackhouse came out firing as they both scored 10 points and 13 points respectively. There were 5 leads changes but the Wizards still lead 29-27. The Wizards continues to keep on rolling in the second quarter as they lead by 14 points but Pat Garrity 16 points in the second quarter helps the Magic to stay close but the Wizards still leads 57-49 at the end of first half.

Michael Jordan took over in the third quarter as he scored 12 points on a variety of ways. Jordan proving he can still play the game as he made a fadeaway jumper over McGrady as the crowds roared. Jordan also scored 3 consecutive baskets in a row as he made two layups and one breakaway dunk. McGrady also did his part as he scored 13 points in the third period by hitting perimeter shots. The Magic still trailed 81-76. In the fourth quarter, the Magic played their best quarter of the series as they outscored the Wizards 33-19. The Magic played their stingy defence as Stackhouse were scoreless in the final period and Jordan scored only 5 points. McGrady continues to be the main Magic offensive weapon as he scored 13 of his 41 points that send the Wizards out of the playoffs with the final score 109-100. McGrady said, “There are good and bad about this victory, the good thing is of course we won the game and we can move on to the next round. The bad thing is Michael Jordan will leave us, we try to keep him to play in the NBA as much as possible and we are glad that he played five games in this series so fans get to see him on the floor more often instead of 3 games of action.” McGrady finished the game with 41 points, 1 rebound and 2 assists. Shawn Kemp had 11 points and 14 rebounds. Stackhouse scored 23 points but he scored just 6 points in the entire second half. Stackhouse said, “The Magic played their best defence and I was not able to get off my shots. Hopefully, we will do one better next season.”

The Magic will now face the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round of the playoffs after the Sixers defeated the New Jersey Nets 3-1. Game 1 is play in Orlando.

Thanx man. It was a very a tough series because in each of the game Stackhouse and Jordan always played well, especially Stackhouse, when he is on fired. I am looking forward to play against the Sixers and hopefully I don't need to play Game 7.

Thankyou for your Support. I guess that the Sixers are as tough as the Wizards. Now, I am going to face Iverson and Van Horn. Sixers big men are probably tougher than the Wizards ones since Coleman can score and he can shoot 3s. Hopefully, I can stop Iverson from scoring too much.
