Utah Jazz sign new GM

Image

Greg Anthony: Welcome to the Greg Anthony news about news show. This is Greg Anthony speaking. In breaking news, the Utah Jazz association have signed a new General Manager by the name of Robert Skrnjug.
Not Much is known about Robert Skrnjug, except he is a good decision maker and he loves his basketball. We are lucky enough to have an interview with him.
Robert Skrnjug, welcome to the show.

Robert Skrnjug: Eh, glad to talk to ya Greg
Greg Anthony: Yes, so how do you feel about acquiring the job of General Manager of the Utah Jazz.
Robert Skrnjug: Well, I wasn't quite surprised. It was no surprise that the guy with the least amount or surprise was going to get it. That's me of course. But on a more serious issue, the Jazz did bad last year.
Greg Anthony: Yes. Yes they did. So, what do you think about Deron Williams? Do you think he'll be an impact on the team
Robert Skrnjug: Oh, no doubt about that. He'll be able to feed the ball to Kirilenko, Boozer and Okur in the middle or out to Devin Brown on the wing
Greg Anthony: It was great talking to you, but our time is up. Good Luck for the future man and take care.
Robert Skrnjug: Thanks
Welcome to the Utah Jazz dynasty, courtesy of Doodle/Jugs.

Staff Hiring and Training Camp Period

It was time to find a new Coaching Staff for Coach Jerry Sloan. It was up to GM Robert Skrnjug to find the right people.

Image

Firstly, Robert Skrnjug had to find an Assistant Coach for Jerry Sloan. He stumbled upon Tyronn Tutu. Funny name, huh? Yes, this is what all the other teams thought about this guy, but not Robert Skrnjug, not the Utah Jazz.

Tyronn Tutu specialises in Defence, which is what Robert Skrnjug loves to see his team dominate games with.

Image

Now, Robert Skrnjug had to find a Trainer. He found Jonathon Garnett, uncle of Minnesota Timberwolves superstar, Kevin Garnett.

Jonathon Garnett specialises in leg work which would help prevent long lasting knee injuries which have been a problem for the Jazz in the past.

Image

Last, but not least, Skrnjug had to find a scout. While having a coffee at the local Star bucks, Robert Skrnjug spotted Terry Porter and his cousin Nestor Porter. Robert Skrnjug approached Nestor and asked him if he wanted to be a scout for the Utah Jazz, but of course, we had to offer him a contract.

Nestor Porter specialises in scouting European players, Utah Jazz has a lot of European players at the moment and in their past.

Image

These three guys agreed to their contract offers which left the Coaching Staff Budget to 0$. It is now time for the Training Camp.

Training Camp

2 weeks after the Assistant Coach was signed, he finally get's something to do.

Image

Tyronn Tufu decided to work 40% of the time on Athleticism and 60% of the time on Defence.

These are some of the players who improved, and what they improved on

CJ Miles: He has improved his stealing ability, defensive awareness, offensive rebounding, speed and quickness
Greg Ostertag: He improved his stealing ability, strength and stamina.
Milt Palacio: Improved his Defensive rebounding
Mehmet Okur: Improved his Stealing ability
Jarron Collins: He improved his stealing ability and strength
Andrei Kirilenko: He improved his stealing ability, offensive rebounding and jumping.
But the most improved of all of them was..
Deron Williams He improved his defensive and offensive rebounding, stealing ability, jumping, defensive awareness and quickness.

Robert Skrnjug was impressed by both rookies as they improved greatly at the training camp.

October Scouting

Robert Skrnjug decided to give Porter his first assignment, go to Europe and scout the top 5 players. This year's draft class is quite weak and there was only 4 europeans predicted to be chosen in the top 30 picks.

Well, I hope you enjoyed the recap, Doodle.

devin is better if the ratings and moves are a bit like 2005. Devin Brown was one of the kept secrets to me in 2005. I always played him instead of Bruce Bowen. I like bruce a lot, but he wasn't that great in 2005. With the freestyle superstar features he an be a better factor, i hope.

I am enjoying your spotlight on the new coaching features, looking forward to seeing how player evolution and training goes. Maybe Deron will be trained into a superstar?

I'm kind of surprise that you are doing a Jazz dynasty, not a Blazers dynasty. Well, it is good to see you made a good introductions about the Jazz. Until then, I am looking forward to see your first game recap.

Yeah, i'll try and train him into a playmaker. I'll try and post (and do) as many coaching/player evolution/training stuff as I can, i already gave you guys a taste of the Coach hiring bit.

I hope so too.

Well, I was thinking about a Trailblazers dynasty, but not many people do a Utah Jazz dynasty (or a Washington Wizards one) so I decided to choose Deron, Kirilenko, Giricek and the Utah Jazz.

Oh and about the first game recap, I might play a game today, depends how i feel because i dont feel too well.

Robert Skrnjug decided to assign Tyonn Tutu to train Deron Williams for 2 weeks. They will work on Offensive skills and Athleticism.

1/11/2005

The NBA Season begins

3 Games were played today, Monday the 1st of November.

GAME OF THE DAY

Dallas vs. Phoenix - It was time for Phoenix to prove how good of a team they are, even without Joe Johnson.

Unfortunately, The Dallas Mavericks prevailed, winning 101 to 96. The Mavericks led the whole game but a 4th quarter comeback by the Suns wasn't enough.
Jason Terry won player of the game with 22 points, 11 assists and 3 rebounds.

Other games

Milwaukee vs. Philadelphia - Finally, the wait was over. Andrew Bogut's debut was finally here.
Philadelphia took this game, 89-84. Allen Iverson was player of the game with 28 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 1 block.

San Antonio vs. Denver - The reigning champions first game of the season was against the young Denver Nuggets team. San Antiono won this game, 109-91. Player of the game was Tim Duncan with 33 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks. Honourable mentions are Tony Parker with 26 points, 12 assists and 3 steals. Jazz' First Game Recap

Image

Deron Williams, in his debut game, and his Utah Jazz will host Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks in the Utah Jazz' much anticipated opening game.

Starting Line-Ups

Image

Jerry Sloan decided to start Kirilenko at Power Forward and Matt Harpring at Small Forward and Carlos Boozer on the bench.

Key Match-Up

Andrei Kirilenko vs. Dirk Nowitzki

Will Andrei Kirilenko's superstar ability to defend, defeat Dirk Nowizki superstar ability to score? We'll find out.

1st Quarter

Andrei Kirilenko came out firing, scoring Utah's first 7 points of the match. Then he got an arm injury. :? After the injury, it got quite difficult for the Jazz to score as they weren't into the game quite yet. Jason Terry continued his great form from his last match as the Utah Jazz just managed to hold on despite Dallas trying hard to increase their lead. The quarter ended with Dallas up 29 to 27.

2nd Quarter

It took Utah Jazz only 1 minute and a half to take a 3 point lead as it looked like the Mavericks were struggling. Then the game turned around again as the Mavericks regained their lead. The Jazz had a nice 3 point lead then Deron Williams got into foul trouble. Jason Terry scored 6 points in a row to give Dallas a 3 point lead. Both teams began exchanging leads then a Milt Palacio buzzer beating lay-up gave the Jazz a 58 to 57 points lead.

Key Players at the Half

Mehmet Okur and Jason Terry

3rd Quarter

Jerry Sloan decided to put Andrei Kirilenko back on the court as he recovered from his Arm injury and the first thing he did was score a basket. Andrei Kirilenko continued his run as Deron Williams picked up his 4th personal foul. The Jazz had the lead but then it became a lead swapping game. Andrei Kirilenko dominated this quarter but the scores were still close. Doug Christie received an injury when he went up for a lay-up. The Jazz ended this quarter up 90-88. Andrei Kirilenko scored 22 points in this quarter and 7 other of his teammates scored 2 points each.

4th quarter

This quarter started awfully as Andrei Kirilenko got injured again and won't return to the match. After the injury, the Jazz got fired up and began to play more aggresive, began driving to the basket and after 1 minute and a half, the Mavericks were already on 4 team fouls. With 5 minutes left to go, the Jazz had a nice 11 point lead. Devin Brown went up for a lay-up and got an arm injury, 3rd one tonight. The Jazz continued to hold onto their lead as the Mavericks began intentionally fouling them. The Utah Jazz took this game 126 to 116.

Player Of The Game

Andrei Kirilenko
Despite only playing 2 quarters, he scored 29 points.

Boxscores

Utah Jazz
Dallas Mavericks

Picture Of The Game

Image
Andrei Kirilenko was the reason the Jazz won, because of his scoring and his injury, which fired up the whole team.

Game Pictures

When Kirilenko was injured, Deron Williams was the main focus of the Mavericks defense.
Kirilenko showed who was boss early in the game
CJ Miles throwing a lob shot over Bradley
Milt "Milf" Palacio scoring over Dampier
This one is for Fitzy, Jarron Collins

Robert Skrnjug said in the post game press conference that he was pleased with the way everybody played tonight. He also announced that Devin Brown will be out for 5 days with a sprained elbow.

That's the game, please read, Doodle.

Thanks, this was actually my first game with Deron, he managed i think 18 points. He is a nice passer, he's fast and can get to the basket quite well. I didnt really try his shooting...
