][The Future Is Now][ Live 06' Bobcat's Dynasty

Postby .LA. on Sat Sep 10, 2005 1:51 pm

Well, I was going to run with the Kings, but do to Garcia likely not being on the game until an update, I want to try the ultimate task, making the Bobcat's go from nothing to the playoffs (may take some seasons). The game doesn't come out till' the 27th, so I will be using this time to give player profiles, player interviews, rookie diaries, player movement (not much), scrimmages, and stuff like that. Without Further Ado, meet the 2005-2006 Charlotte Bobcats. I will be playing on Superstar, with 6 minute quarters. I am not going to post my rosters, because I will be doing player profiles for a while, and once I finish that I will post the roster. If your curious to who I have, just look on nba.com/bobcats and look at the actual rosters, because that's what I'm going by. Next update will be soon.

Bernie Bickerstaff steps down as GM!

"Bobcats Daily" Reports-

Charlotte Bobcat General Manager and Head Coach, Bernie Bickerstaff, has apparently told the rest of the management that he can't run both jobs at once. Since his true passion is coaching, he has told management that he is stepping down as General Manager. Management is said to be shell-shocked, and word is that they are already on the lookout to bring in a new GM before this season kicks off. Rumors on who it may be have included anything from rappers, to NBA legends, to relatively nobodies. We will keep you updated on this shocking situation.

Player Profile-#1

Image

"#50- Emeka Okafor"

Image

Emeka Okafor. Just call him, "Mecca". Any success that the Bobcats may or may not get this year will all be because of the man with the number 50 jersey. The heart of the Bobcats is strong within Emeka Okafor. Last season he broke out as the top rookie, picking up 15.1 PPG, and a whopping 10.9 RPG, which was 4th in the league. Emeka Okafor is the kind of guy that gives you a double double on any given night. Last year he emerged as top rookie, this year, he will emerge as one of the best big men in the league. The building stage begins with Emeka Okafor, and the success begins with Emeka Okafor.

#4- Kareem Rush

Image

Kareem Rush has played along NBA veterans, NBA Icons, and Future Hall Of Famers, so why is he so happy to be a Bobcat? Kareem Rush is ready to step up and become his own icon. Kareem will now have the chance to get his minutes and take his shots. Kareem got his shot last season at the mid season mark, when he became a Bobcat. The result? 11.5 PPG, 2.3 RPG, and 1.9 APG in his 34 games with the Bobcats. The only thing that slowed Kareem down was a MCL sprain which caused him to miss the final 27 games of the season. And if last season was any indication, Kareem is ready to break out this season and become a huge part of the Bobcat's offense. Talk of Kareem may be quiet at the moment, with the talks of Emeka Okafor and the two new rookies, Sean May and Raymond Felton, but Kareem is ready to bust out, so take notes, and be ready.

Bobcat's GM Announced: "His Airness!"

Image

The new General Manager of the Charlotte Bobcats has been picked, and it is one huge and shocking decision. Michael Jordan has been named to be the new General Manager of the Charlotte Bobcats. This is a shocking move that is taking the town of Charlotte, North Carolina by storm. Moments after being announced as the new GM by team owner, Robert Johnson , at a press conference, Michael Jordan took the stage at the press conference to discuss the team and answer questions.

Image

Michael Jordan: Thank you. I would like to first thank Robert Johnson and the Bobcats organization to give me this opportunity. Back when the team was started, I was offered a role to be apart of the staff, but I declined because I wanted more of a manager and owner type role. Now that Coach Bickerstaff has stepped down as General Manager, I have that chance. This is a big step for me, and I'm happy to be here in Charlotte, with this young team that has so much potential. I think that this team has a huge future in front of them and they have an enormous amount of potential, and I'm glad to be apart of the organization. This is going to be an exciting year, and I hope we can give this town of Charlotte something to look forward to and be excited about. Now. I'm sure there are alot of questions, so I'd like to take this time to answer some of them.

Reporter: Michael, is it possible that we will actually end up seeing Michael Jordan in a Bobcats Uniform?

Michael Jordan: *laughs*, No, I'm done with that part of my career. I am here as a General Manager, not a player. You will never see me back on the court as a NBA player again.

Reporter: Michael, what do you think is a realistic goal for the season?

Michael Jordan: Well, that remains to be seen. I mean its going to be alot of hard work. I mean we are a young team, and alot of growing needs to be done. All I can promise is that we are going to go out and compete every night. We aren't looking ahead, we are just trying to go game by game.

Reporter: Michael, what do you think about the two new rookies, headed to Charlotte?

Michael Jordan: Well, since I'm a UNC Alumni, I watch the Tarheel's games alot, so I got to see these two guys rule the college game and come to play every night, and win the NCAA tournament. Sean May and Raymond Felton are two great young kids, and I think they are ready for the NBA. Both are going to be great pieces of our offense, and both are likely to break into the Starting Lineup to start the season. Sean May can play both forwards positions and will probably be the starter at one of them. We could either do Emeka Okafor at the 5 and May at the 4 or Okafor at the 4 and May at the 3. We will see how things go. And Raymond Felton is likely to be our starting point guard.

Reporter: What other key pieces will be apart of this team to make it a success?

Michael Jordan: Well obviously, Emeka Okafor is going to be the team's leader. Primoz Brezec will be big for us whether he is a starter or not. But I think two really important parts of this team are two of the most athletic guys in the NBA, Gerald Wallace and Kareem Rush. We expect these two to really break out this season. Of course Brevin Knight will be big for us whether he is the starter or not. Another key guy is Jason Kapono. He is going to be our big shooter from the bench and our sharpshooter. You also have to think about Keith Bogans, Tamar Slay, and Jake Voskuhl. I mean the talent is there, and this is just going to be a team effort.

Reporter: Is this team set? Or will we see some moves before the season.

Michael Jordan: Really we just have to deal with that when the time comes. Who knows what may happen. But I'm sure there will be some moves, it just all depends on what we think will make the team better. Watch out for the Bobcats though. Thank you.

#3- Gerald Wallace

Image

Go on and doubt him. Go ahead. It will be nothing new to Gerald Wallace. Gerald has spent the bulk of his young career in the shadows on the Sacramento King's bench. Is he bitter? Not at all. Gerald used that time as a learning experience. But now, its his turn. When Gerald was picked up by the Bobcats in the expansion draft, people started to notice he would need to be a leader for the Bobcats. Once Emeka Okafor was drafted, Gerald lost focus. Still, Gerald pulled up a career year, with 11.1 PPG, 5.5 RPG, and 1.3 BPG, along with 1.67 SPG which was 9th in the league. Last summer Gerald was doubted on defense and he came in and showed everyone he is one of the top defensive players in the "L". Now people say Gerald Wallace may be explosive on offense, but he is inconsistent. Well Gerald has been focusing on that all summer, and is ready to explode for over 20 PPG. Watching Gerald do a behind the back dunk, you can see flashes of Mike. Now Gerald Wallace will have to be like Mike, well in Bobcats standards. Doubt he can pull up 20 PPG? Watch and learn. Gerald may need the doubting more than ever.
