http://browse.deviantart.com/resources/ ... psbrushes/
that is brushes heaven, to install just put the abr file in your adobe/photoshop/presets/brushes folder

I know about the site, I used some of those brushes for my Chris Paul sigs. I used the CPU brush 'cause the leafs go with Canada. Some of the CPU brushes are good if you use them right.

o i c
but i dont trust the crappy photoshop custon brushes
Sat Sep 10, 2005 1:05 pm
Yeah, I think you should un-blend them, 'cos they're too blended in the BG.
Now talking about the last sig: The sig is not bad, but it's all too blended in the background. Try un-blending at least the pic of Steve and add the effect I told you before. Also, try making the border a little small and make it black
Sat Sep 10, 2005 1:27 pm
Okay, I'll try that ... tommorrow. I need sleep

Thanks

The default brushes have their purposes, don't just disregard them. And I like it. Simply lowering the opacity is usually a pretty bad effect unless it's some picture in the background. I suggest looking at my player effects tutorial (seems like everyone does), and using a blurred, red overlay layer on Stevie. Use some of those deviantart brushes for a basic background, then put the maple leaves over top. That'll really add to the sig. If your border is only one colour, stick to 1 or maybe two pixels, and finally try using an adjustment layer called 'color balance' it gives your colours a little more depth and spark.

colin is a fucking photoshop genius
you should make a tutorial on text effects, you know how much i need them
anyways i cant wait for your next sig, lets see how good it is
Sat Sep 10, 2005 1:50 pm
I'm still up, but not for long, stupid slow imageshack ... I accidently closed the canada sig before I saved it, so I have to redo about half of it

. At least I can do what you guys said. And when I lowered the opacity, it had a multiply layer above it, so it's not as bad.
Sat Sep 10, 2005 6:25 pm
Yeah, but I don't know if in Photoshop Elements there's the Color Balance

OK, why are people using Elements. If you are using Elements post here and I'll talk to you about a way to get more out of Elements.
Sat Sep 10, 2005 6:43 pm
That's why I bought CS2...
The only thing I don't like there is that there's not a Undo, Redo shortcut like in Elements
Sat Sep 10, 2005 7:15 pm
Should be the same as CS, ctrl-alt-z = one step back in history, ctrl-shift-z = one step forward in history. And if you do have it, obviously I'm not talking to you.
Sun Sep 11, 2005 1:56 am
Yeah, I have Elements 2.0. The trial version I had of CS2 ran out, and at the same time my dad bought a new digital camera and got Elements 2.0 with it, so I just started using that instead.
Sun Sep 11, 2005 2:10 am
i got elements 3.0, as long as you have adobe photoshop its fine

Here's the updated Chris Paul with unblended players and the Canada with Colin's tips.

I just found the maple leaf brush I had wanted to use, I used a different one before. I wrote down where the right brush was, it was right beside me and I didn't see it

. I think the other brush looks better, though.

Off-topic, does anyone know how to arch text? It doesn't have to be in Photoshop, just any program in general. I need to know for the jersey I'm making. If you want to know what the text looks like, go
here. Zmac posted his pics, and I've posted what I've done so far.
Sun Sep 11, 2005 6:56 am
It has to do with Photoshop: when you make a text just select "Create warped text" and then select the Arc style...
Sun Sep 11, 2005 7:10 am
Yeah, it was answerwd in the thread, same answer too. Thanks
Sun Sep 11, 2005 8:46 am
Okay, now I'm frustrated

. Because the warping only works if it's text, I had to use a different font then the one I wanted, and it didn't work. I have the text I want in the PSD format, from a .png. How do I warp that? It's basically a pic, so what do I need to warp a pic? Can it be done or do I need a different text?
EDIT: Can anyone suggest a font that is similar to this? It's ITC American Typewriter.

Here's my newest. The jersey came to a halt because of the text, so any help with it is appreciated. Back on topic, I can't think of what to put on the right of this sig, so I figured I'd get some opinions.

Sun Sep 11, 2005 11:25 pm
Okay, thanks. I can do them all now, 'cause I have all the other bits done.
