Scrimmage Recap

The game was really good and it showed me a lot about how the guys like to play. The Away Magic ended up beating the Home Magic 94-84.

ImageAway
C Hunter-- 7pts-11rebs
PF Thomas-- 11pts-10rebs
SF Turkoglu-- 11pts
SG Brunson-- 8pts
PG Kidd-- 33pts-8asts

Bench:
Bradley--8pts

ImageHome
C Howard-- 32pts-11rebs
PF Haslem-- 7pts-7rebs
SF Garrity-- 10pts
SG Murray-- 11pts
PG Lopez-- 8pts

Bench:
Horry-- 2pts

Player of the Game award went to Jason Kidd. My comments on the game are that we need to work better on defense. We did good on cutting to the baskets and finishing the plays but defense is still something that we need work on.

Nice recap! I was going for J-Kidds side!

Nice scrimmage, both teams played well, JKidd pulls out the victory, showing more leadership than Dwight Howard. Nice stuff. BTW, please check my return thread and vote.

Grizzlies Defense stop the Magic

The Orlando Magic lost to the Memphis Grizzlies 99-90.

The defense played by the Grizzlies was incredible. It was hard to drive it in as well as to get open shots. Jason Kidd got injured in the third quarter but was able to come back. Either way, Kidd had a bad game fouling out in the fourth. He finished with only 11 points and 7 assists. Dwight Howard ended the night with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Pau Gasol earned Player Of The Game honors finishing with 22 points and 16 rebounds.

C Howard-- 22pts-11rebs
PF Thomas-- 16pts-12rebs

SG Murray-- 16pts
PG Kidd-- 11pts-7asts

Key bench player:
PG Lopez-- 6pts

Grizzlies STATS:
C Gasol-- 22pts-16rebs
SG Wells-- 21pts
PG Williams-- 17pts

Garrity Shots Down Hawks

The Orlando Magic beat the Atlanta Hawks 98-95.

Another thrilling game from beginning to the end. With 1:00 left the score was 91-91. Al Harrington has the ball, he passes it to Tony Delk who makes a shot just inside the three-point line; 93-91 Hawks. I dribble up the court and I throw it to Thomas inside who makes the easy lay-up. Tied at 93-93, Alonzo Mourning makes a hook shot to put them up by two with 30 seconds remaining! Ronald Murray dribbles up the floor and passes it to a slashing Dwight Howard who puts it down like a monster. 95-95 with 20 seconds to go! They waste time and with 4 seconds left, Tony Delk shoots it and......misses. Kurt Thomas gets the rebound and calls a time-out. Now as many as you all know, Pat Garrity has been amazing for me when it comes to the final shot. Garrity comes in. Inbounds pass to Garrity, he shoots the three and..............GETS FOULED! He calmly makes the three free-throws. Hawks with 1 second left try for the three but couldn't get a shot off. Magic win 98-95.The downside of the game was Jason Kidd's injury. He left at the start of the third and did not come back.

ImageMagic STATS:
C Howard-- 21pts-9rebs
PF Thomas-- 20pts-9rebs
SF Turkoglu-- 16pts
SG Murray-- 12pts-7asts
PG Kidd-- 10pts-7asts(injured in the third)

Key bench player:
SF Garrity-- 3pts(game-winning free-throws)

Hawks STATS:
PG Delk-- 29pts
C Mourning-- 18pts-12rebs
PF Walker--16pts
