Phoenix Times
The Phoenix Suns have made a deal to bring last years #1 pick to the suns.

Today the Suns have made a deal for Kwame Brown, Brenden Haywood and Jahidi White and have dealt Penny Hardaway, Patrick Ewing, Rusty LaRue. "I believe that we have made a step in the right direction, we have aquired the center that we need to make a run for the championship, in Kwame Brown" said Bryan Colangelo, gm of the Phoenix Suns. "I believe that it was a good trade for both teams, we got a center in Kwame Brown that can bring us to the championship and a young back up center in Brenden Haywood, while the wizards got a great veterain guard in Penny Hardaway who will take the backup role if that is what is needed from him" complaments Frank Johnson, coach of the Suns.

The Suns starting lineup for opening day is:
C. Kwame Brown
PF. Amare Stoudemire+
SF. Shawn Marion*
SG. Joe Johnson
PG. Stephon Marbury*

Suns trade for regime of 3-point shooters

The Suns are definitly looking for a championship this year. They have just made trades with 4 teams recieve a regime of three point shooters to come off their bench. They have aquired Chris Piatkowski from the Clippers, Eric Strickland from the Pacers, Glen Rice from the Rockets and Pat Garrity from the Magic. These four trades make their second line a huge 3 point threat. The Suns first game is against The Seattle Supersonics at the Key Arena.

Fri Apr 04, 2003 9:22 am

who'd you give up in that second trade.

Fri Apr 04, 2003 9:33 am

basically my whole bench, i got some players with the 3 point regime

Dude, I love the fact that you went out and got my boy Kwame Brown, but you also completely screwed up my Wizards for the whole franchise. :(

Sorry MJ, ill trade them some prospects after this season to make the trade more fair.

Tough Loss for Suns vs. Mavs
Though Loss for the Suns at American Airlines Arena in Dallas Texas. The Suns were down atmost 20 pts and never lead in the game. "It was a tough game, we couldnt hit shots and thats what makes it happen."claimed Coach Frank Johnson. "Well, right now from my point of view I belive that we need a point guard who can pass well, our problem right now in our two losses are because of low assists. In our win we had a high amount of assists. So we either need a better passing point guard or Marbs needs to step up and play the point guard role." GM Bryan Colangelo believes. :?: So this is where your opinion comes into play, Should I trade for a better passing point guard or keep Marbs and see what happens? :?: and if u think i should trade, who would u like to see me get :?:

Kwame has been a monster for me in the last 20 odd games. His numbers have risen from 15ppg to 18ppg, and 5rpg to 8rpg, and 2bpg to 3bpg (3rd in NBA)

Mon Apr 07, 2003 2:35 am

are you playing Kwame at center or pf? that could be the reason, because i have kwame at center. My monster down low has been Amare Stoudemire!

Kwame comes through at the end!
Kwame Brown knew that he had to do something for his game, so he decided to hit the weight room. He gained about 5-10 pounds of muscle over the Suns break. The next game Kwame comes through for the Suns against the Pistons, even though he didnt get many board because the Pistons were basically hitting everything.

I use him at PF. In my 2OT win against Detroit, Kwame had POG game with 35 points, 16 rebounds and 9 blocks, to go with 1 steal and 2 assists. I want to get his assists up though. He is now averaging around 19ppg, 8.4rpg and 3.4bpg.

Tue Apr 08, 2003 10:15 am

wow, that is very very nice, tell me what he does at the end of the year, how much he goes up in ratings

Tue Apr 08, 2003 8:26 pm

I'm only in the second year of my franchise with Washington, and Kwame is rated 78. I think that is the same rating as his was at the end of the first year. But I think his rating will jump next season.
