Bandwagoner :D !

Fri Aug 26, 2005 7:10 am

Well, since there are no Greek clubs in the top 10 (as if they ever will  ), I have to go with my childhood favorites... although if I had to say I support one team outside my country, that would be Aston Villa, the 'Peasants from Birmingham, England. We got Milan Baros, too. 8-)

Fri Aug 26, 2005 7:48 am

Sao Paulo Tricolor!
I'm kinda surprised we're 9th..but whatever. YAY!

So, you're going to get the drop or what?

I figured you'd be an Olympiakos fan.. hell they got Rivaldo baby! (Y)

That's my 2nd favourite team too :x

Wtf Sao Paulo in the top 10 (despite fighting off relegation) and Inter nowhere to be seen?

Fri Aug 26, 2005 5:39 pm

Ajax for life.....oh well life sucks

I am... but comparing Barca to Olympiakos is like comparing a 737 to a Cesna...

What's the first? Chelski?

Fuck no I actually have some pride. My Dad was born/raised in Italy and supported Inter all his life, so I do too. My great-grandad played for Villa, hence me liking them. Plus I lived in Birmingham for a while.

Inter and Aston Villa... hehe, along with Barca, those are my 3 favorite international clubs as well...

Sat Aug 27, 2005 5:45 am

Valencia are my favourite Spanish team so we're not a perfect match thankfully

Thankfully...

SPFC recently won against Parana 4-0, which makes us 18th...so we're officially out of the relegation zone. Phew.
Relegation is now between Flamengo, Atlético Mineiro, Figueirense and Paysandu.
Go Tricolor!

Tue Aug 30, 2005 10:45 pm

Flamengo, Atlético Mineiro, Figueirense and Paysandu.

It would be an equal shame for either Flamengo or Mineiro to go down... :(

How's Santos doing after Robinho's departure?

Wed Aug 31, 2005 10:32 am

Yea, Flamengo was so good back when I first arrived in Brazil...after that they've been going downhill ever since..It's a shame. I remember when Bebeto played for Flamengo, they were awesome. They were also historically a good team, but I thought they were also in the B league 2 or 3 years ago... I don't think I've ever heard of Figueirense and Paysandu though. :?:

I haven't been following the Brazilian that closely because the US has 0 soccer coverage, so it's been difficult. Santos won the league this year.

hey Bang, do you live here in Brazil too??

Também sou São Paulo maluco!!!!!!
TRICAMPEÃO DA LIBERTADORES!!!!!

Santos is doing fine after robinho's departure, they recently acquired Giovani from Olympiakos, now they got left defender Kléber, who played for corinthians in 2000-2001 and was playing somewhere in europe, it is a very good signing as they lost Léo who was one of the best left defenders in the Brazilian league.

if you have any questions on the brazilians soccer leagues, feel free to ask, i always keep myself updated... ;)

Mon Sep 05, 2005 3:45 am

How's Carlos Tevez doing over there? I was pretty shocked that he didn't go to a major European club. Also, do you think Fred will be successful in France?

Mon Sep 05, 2005 3:58 am

man, Fred was playing so good here... but i don't know if he will be good in france, there are some cases that players just don't keep playing well in europe, it is the case of Luis Fabiano who had been playing great here for 2-3 years with almost 1 goal per game, when he got to Porto he just sucked... lol

and about Carlitos Tévez, he is playing well, in my opinion he is the top forward of the league now that robinho and fred left. he didn't go to an european club because corinthians got a new partner with a lot of money who bought their whole team now... but i think he will leave corinthians to europe as soon as this season ends.

Tue Sep 06, 2005 5:31 am

What kind of name is... Fred???

Tue Sep 06, 2005 2:19 pm

lol, here in Brazil when a guy is called "Frederico" (not so common name here...) everyone calls him "Fred".

Tue Sep 06, 2005 2:48 pm

Go Boca Jrs! Hardcore Boca Juniors fan right here 8-)

Wed Sep 07, 2005 1:23 am

WTF man!! argentinians are everywhere!!! lol

you know that if we want we can flood Buenos Aires don't you???

Wed Sep 07, 2005 3:58 am

I lived in Brazil for 6 years. I am a Sao Paulo fan.

As you put it so well:
Também sou São Paulo maluco!!!!!!
TRICAMPEÃO DA LIBERTADORES!!!!!

I haven't had the chance to see any Brazilian soccer games in the US sadly, so I don't know that well what happened since 2002. I know we won Libertadores and that was amazing. How is our team doing? I know since we lost a lot of our great players we are facing lots of difficulties. And now big European clubs are aiming for Cicinho. However, I have faith that our club will succeed.

How I want to see a live game...I miss those times. Brazilian soccer...is so crazy. The intensity in Sao Paulo games are greater than any other game in any other sport I've gone too. (With the exception of World Cup games in Korea)

Wed Sep 07, 2005 3:17 pm

well, são paulo isn't laying very good right now. i've just watched one live game (i actually live 400 km from são paulo) here in my city, the win over parana (4-0), but that game was just an exception cause the team is sucking bad after the Libertadores title.

now we signed Christian that was a striker from Gremio and Internacional and was playing somewhere in europe, we also got Amoroso some time ago, scoring leader of the Bundesliga some years ago and Leandro Bonfim (from Benfica i guess), now the team is starting to get on track again.

we just lost in the round of 32 of the Sul-Americana Cup to Internacional.
now we're playing just the league that we are in 18th, tomorrow we will have a derby against corinthians. (it's independence day here, sep 7th)

Cicinho is going to Real Madrid after the FIFA world club compeition, which will be held in december. (and we don't have a reserve right wing back)

that's it.
