:\ Not like people have never seen it before, unfortunately.

How do you know the same person made that caption? It could have been one person who wrote find and then the next person wrote loot. It's unlikely, but it's possible.

Plus, they were there (well the photographers) so maybe they saw the whole thing and it's different then what the picture and caption tells us.

Oh well, I tried to explain but I'm just white folk.

I found that and it really made me think about how horrible the american media is. Hell i put in my aim profile and you have to be important to get in there.

The American media is 90% liberal.

Fri Sep 02, 2005 6:34 am

^^ LMAO on that one!

Forget the "liberal bias" for a second. That doesn't look overally 'liberal' right there. It looks more arch-conservative.

Fri Sep 02, 2005 7:53 am

I know, I'm not talking about that I was referring to Rip32's post when he said America's media is fucked up.

Perhaps the circumstances are different, though I'm more inclined to believe it's racial stereotyping.

Fri Sep 02, 2005 3:04 pm

Actually, the two pictures are from two different sources and someone on the realgm boards says that Getty and AP (the two sources) probably submit captions along with the pictures. And one decided to use the word "find" and the other decided to use the word "loot". It probably had nothing to do with race.

Fri Sep 02, 2005 3:16 pm

Well obviously one source decided to describe the person as "looting" and the other as the people "finding", the issue is what motivated the person that wrote the caption to use the term they did. And perhaps it is jumping to conclusions, but that would be a good example of racial stereotyping, albeit subtle.

Fri Sep 02, 2005 3:35 pm

What? Saying that someone "found" it? I'm sure if that was a black person that same source would have called it "finding" just as they did to the white person. It was just a way of describing the situation.

You're sure? Please, don't be so naive.

that article is so stereotipical, ok new orleans has a high population of black ppl and the ppl that are looting look like there all black becuz of the high popluation so then they see one person that happens to be white finding ppl and they say that just the white ppl are finding ppl when yet on the news a lot of white and more in importantly black ppl are finding ppl also..to me that article if fuckin full of bull shit and very offensive to me being black n' all

Yes...but it's the notion that the black person depicted was "looting" - something we consider morally wrong, a crime - whereas the white people who appear to have done essentially the same thing are "finding" supplies, suggesting they have done nothing wrong.

You could be quite right in that the source of the photo of the white people might well have described a black person as "finding" supplies, but the fact remains that another source describes a black man doing the same thing as "looting". They in turn might have done the same thing if they were writing a caption to accompany a photo of the white people. But it would seem some subtle racism is afoot.

How so? Two different sources with two different minds write two different captions.

Your explaining this to a guy that has a signature saying he loves pedophiles, hes another lost cause, well thats what Jackal's been indicating.

On a side note how is Riot allowed to have a signature saying I love pedophiles. Is he a 'special child'? :eh:

As usual african americans are getting stereotyped, nothing suprising I guess. But their heroes and idols when they step on the court, field, track or stage.

Are all clipper fans such pansies? Or are you just related to Clippertalk?

Fri Sep 02, 2005 11:30 pm

How cool would it be though, you could steal shit so easily!
Think about all the computers....the xboxs, phones.....

Fri Sep 02, 2005 11:32 pm

Yeah, awesome, folks are dying & injured and we get to steal x-boxes, w00t.

The high level of stupidity is becoming disgusting.

Uh huh, Im sorry I didnt know you liked people that stick their dicks up kids asses.
Its just a question too, I didnt demand him to take his signature down.

Fri Sep 02, 2005 11:35 pm

Uh huh, Im sorry I didnt know you liked people that stick their dicks up kids asses.

Why would you assume that? Because I defended his right to have a signature he likes?

Let's ask you a question then. Why do you have Vince Carter in your signature? Do you get off on grown men crying? Or do you find it sexual the way he's poking his eyes? Do you imagine he's shoving his thumb up your ass?

See...there's no need to get nasty.

It's just a question in which you're trying to imply that it isn't appropriate. Why do you give a fuck he's got a pedo in his signature? You can't say you don't care given you cared enough to bring it up.

I give a fuck because he has a statement saying he loves pedophiles because I know people that have been victims of such sick crimes. Im not sure what happy neighbourhood you live in but if you knew the after effects of kids that get molested and raped then Im sure you'd change your view unless your a dimwit just like Riot.

Having a Vince Carter signature and a Signature saying I love pedophiles is on complete different levels, Carter doesnt go molest children now does he?

Plus having a basketball player/rapper/rockstar on your signature doesnt mean you love him sexually, if thats so then 3/4's of this community is homosexual. Is Andrew homosexual too for having Conan O'Brien as an avatar, does he get off over him? I highly doubt it. If your homophobic then alright, but you dont have to go accusing people of prefering their own gender just cause they put a signature of another man or avatar of another man on an internet forum.

Fri Sep 02, 2005 11:49 pm

Pedophile is a kind of person, a way of life. It can be male or female. It doesn't have to be someone who rapes children, it can be someone who has consenual sex with minors. Of course, most people affiliate pedophiles with grown men raping teenage girls.

OMfg you are being racists towards pedophiles omfg! die.

I found this on the internet. The photographer who took the picture of the white people who "found" the food thinks they actually did "find" it.
