Wow...that's interesting. I didn't know anyone wanted him to stay. I put him in for fun and wanted to retire him partly for added realism for next season and partly to see how the team would do without him.

I guess I'm open to keeping him if people really want him to stay...

Colicky Boy and LeBron James were honored for both offensive and defensive excellence when they were both named to the NBA's first-team All-NBA and All-Defensive teams.


James and Colicky Boy make up 2/5ths of the All-NBA first team

The Bulls duo marked the fourth straight year that two teammates made the All-NBA team (Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal did it the three previous years).

Colicky Boy and James also became the first teammates named to the All-Defensive first team since Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen in 1997-98.

"Scoring isn't that difficult," said James in a press conference at the Berto Center. "But it's the defensive award that I'm most proud of. Players today like to work on their shooting but neglect being an all-around player."

Bulls guard Dwyane Wade made the All-NBA second team, along with former Bull Eddy Curry. Curry also made the All-Defensive second team.

Scott Skiles was honored as the NBA Coach of the Year after leading the Bulls to an NBA-record 78 wins during the regular season. As usual, he made light of his accomplishment.

Well, in real life, Dirk was All-NBA first team this year and Amare was All-NBA second team, but in my dynasty they got nada. I guess I need a full season with them...

ORLANDO - With their backs against the wall, the Magic gave it their absolute best shot against the Bulls in a nail-biter. But ultimately, the Bulls prevailed with a dramatic 74-69 win over Orlando to sweep the first-round series 4-0.

The game was close from the tip to the final buzzer. The Magic led by 5 after the first quarter and trailed by only 1 at halftime. By the end of the third quarter, Orlando had a two-point lead.

The game continued to see-saw down to the wire. With 1:34 left in the game and Orlando down three points, Magic guard Doug Christie hit two free throws to cut the Bulls lead to 66-65. Amare Stoudemire was double-teamed in the post and passed out to Dirk Nowitzki, who was camped out beyond the arc. Nowitzki drilled the three-pointer, his first as a Bull, to give the Bulls a four-point lead with 1:11 to play.

"He couldn't have picked a better time to hit his first three-pointer for us," said LeBron James, who was held to 8 points.

Magic star Steve Francis then committed a rare backcourt violation, stepping over the halfcourt line, but made up for it on the next possession by stealing the ball from Stoudemire. The steal triggered a fast break layup which cut the Bulls lead to 69-67 with 57.1 seconds left.

Nowitzki fed Stoudemire for a dunk to give the Bulls a four-point lead again at 71-67. And it seemed that the Bulls sealed the win when Christie missed a three-point attempt and Stoudemire hauled in the rebound. But Kelvin Cato stripped the ball from Stoudemire underneath the basket and hooked it in to cut the Bulls lead to 71-69 with 23.4 seconds left.

"I guess I got careless with the ball, thinking that we locked the game up," said Stoudemire, who led all scorers with 20 points to go along with his game-high 10 rebounds. "Luckily, I didn't cost us the game."

With under 24 seconds left, the Magic were forced to foul intentionally and Bulls point guard Dwyane Wade was sent to the line. Two free throws would have iced the game to a four-point Bulls lead but Wade only made one of two.

"I'm not doing too well from the line at crunch time," said Wade, who scored only 7 points in limited minutes due to his sore wrist. "I was pretty upset with myself."

And Wade saved the game when he tipped a Francis pass intended for Christie. Nowitzki grabbed the deflected pass and was intentionally fouled by Christie with 15 seconds left.

"Dwyane's quick," said Francis. "A split second later and the pass would've gotten to Christie."

Nowitzki, who finished with 15 points and 6 assists, hit both free throws to push the Bulls lead to five at 74-69. Grant Hill's three-pointer near the end of the final horn was no good.

"It was a nail-biter," conceded Colicky Boy, who scored a season-low 4 points. "But we weren't concerned. Even if we lost, we'd still have been up 3-1. So there was no pressure."

The Bulls have successfully returned to the NBA playoffs and now await the winner of the Indiana-Detroit series. Will a long wait make the Bulls rusty?

"I don't think so," Nowitzki said. "But you'll never know for sure until we start playing again."

Bulls head coach Scott Skiles, recently named Coach of the Year, gave his reserves significant minutes.

"We wanted to get them sharp as we head into the tougher stretch of the playoffs," Skiles said. "And they responded well. Everyone on the roster scored."

Do the Bulls have a preference for their next opponent?

"The road to the championship goes through Detroit," said James. "Unless Indiana goes through it first. Whoever we'll face will be tough. We've lost to both those teams in the regular season, so it'll be interesting."
