I'm always on the forums, I have a permanent link open on the forums, I was away at dinner & a movie & the NLSC was open so it's very very possible that one hidden person was me.

Spoke to James C about this, it's part of the sessions fix. They show when they're indexing the forum pages, without creating new sessions thus leading to the downtime we've been experiencing every so often. Hopefully that won't happen anymore, but those bots will show up from time to time.

Bot's aren't moderators? Who in heavens name told you that? Those are just pre-programmed programs that just follow a certain string of codes.

Anyways, I'm getting the error more and more these days. The past day it's been really bad; coming up every other time I visit the forum, and having to wait 5-10 minutes each time.
Seems like our generous masters, Googlebot and MSN (if that now is their real names), isn't as generous as they first seemed; oh how wicked you are...

It occurred to me that the cause might be the "Recent Topics" mod we'd installed on the index on the main site, since we never encountered the error before that and the traffic is about the same. I've temporarily removed that mod, I'm yet to encounter the sessions problem. Hopefully we've got it this time.

I just experienced it logging onto the forums now, so I don't think so.

Hey, there's only one solution: close the forum to MSN and googlebots, like it was before. Sure the new forum pages won't appear on google after, but it was the same before

It was more the method the search engines were indexing the pages rather than the fact they were indexing them at all...just have to keep trying different ideas, I guess.
