Minnesota takes on the defending champs

The Timberwolves have the Detroit Pistons next on thier shedule, and will be hoping for another big W. This is their second consecutive game versus a deep playoff contending team. Minnesota will be going to Detroit for this game.

Key Matchup
Kevin Garnett aka The Big Ticket
Rasheed Wallace aka 'Sheed
This will be another classis battle of the posts. Although Sheep is better at 3's, KG is a better post up player. The Wolves plan to go to KG in the post, and play Sheed on the perimeter as well as in the post. Detroit has alot of defense, and could put this game away in the clutch defensive times. Rip will have to be watched carefully, and Hassell will cover him along with Josh Smith.

Detroit's Ben Wallace steps up too far.

1st
The first quarter was all Rip's. He dominated this quarter, and there wasn't a damn thing I could do. He got 21 points in the first alone! This is going to be a high scoring game. KG got injured at about 5:25 left. He might come back, but that would be a cost of getting injured again. The score after 1 is 41-31 Wolves.

2nd
The second quarter was a close one. KG came back in at 7:13. At first he was shaky as he missed 2 freethrows, but eventually got his rythum. Chris Paul did very good in this quarter. For Detroit, Lindsey Hunter got hot. He hit like 3 in a row. Ben Wallace had 9 points, and Chris Paul had 6 asses. The score at halftime is 73-62 Detroit losing.

Players of the half
Minnesota:Chris Paul-13 points/8 asses/ 2 steals
Detroit:Rip Hamilton-26 points

3rd
The third quarter was the closest one yet. Chris Paul continued to have a good game, getting 9 points and 4 asses. KG had 8. Rip had 15 points, and Chauncey had 10! The guard play of Detroit is killing Minnesota. The score is 98-97 wolves up one.

4th
Again this game came down to the fourh quarter. With a minute left, Fred Hoidberg hit 3 clutch free throws, and that brought in my superstars who were trapped on the bench. The score is 132-128, and the Pistons score on that posetion with Rip. Then the wolves pass the ball around, and get, but Olowokandi turns it over after a double team. THe pistons go to Ben wallace on the post, and he scores, which now brings it to a 2 points game. The Wolves again miss, and the Pistons score, this time with the open Chauncy Billups. Now the score is tied up at 132, and the Wolves have the ball with 16.2 left! The Wolves get a mismatch in the post, and KG throws it down on Rip! The Pistons contemplate about who to go to with 6.2 left now. The Pistons will get the last shot, but Chris Paul intercepts the ball and is fouled. He makes the first, but misses the second, forcing the Pistons to shoot a 3 with BEN WALLACE??? Big Ben just shot the 3 from deep, and airballed it! Wolves Win a close one with Detroit. The Wolves bench outscored the Pistons bench, 54 to 8!!!! the final score, 135 to 132 Wolves win another.

Player of the game
Chris Paul:26 points/15 asses/5 steals

Wolves are going to New Orleans to visit Sprewell

The Wolves will be going to New Orleans for their next game against the Hornets. The last game Spre and JR did the Wolves in, but this game will b different as JR wont be as efficent, even though KG had gotten injured.

Key Matchup:
Wally Sir-bee-hack vs Latrell Sprewell Part II
The last game, Spre did Wally in good. For that reason we were thinking about putting Josh Smith on him. during practice one day, he said that he can handle Sprewell, and proved it by shutting down Josh Smith. Then we put McCants on him, some one who can shoot as well as Spre, and he held him to 4 points during a scrimmage. We are hoping he can contain Sprewell in this up coming game. Also JR hurt us last game. We will put McCants on him again. He wanted to guard him all week due to their previous meeting. McCants had better step up his game, or he will be on the bench.
