I didn't know Martin stuttered, we don't get many NBA interview around here. In fact my NBA interest dropped seriously during past seasons and I only got back into it around playoffs time watching Suns, Pistons and Spurs.

Anyway, the starters for Denver vs. Utah in Salt Lake City:

Denver (14-4 before game)
C M. Camby
F K. Martin
F C. Anthony
G J. Johnson
G J. Williams

Utah (7-8 before game)
C J. Collins
F C. Boozer
F A. Kirilenko
G R. Bell
G D. Williams

Looking at the starters, Denver will want to make the most of the Camby-Jarron Collins matchup inside.

DENVER WIN AGAIN, THIS TIME IN UTAH

Denver 85
Utah 66

Denver Nuggets took another win over a low-scoring Utah Jazz team tonight. In the pre-match analysis it was the post play which was noted as the biggest difference between the teams, and it proved to be just what decided the game. Marcus Camby, Kenyon Martin and Nene were all able to take over down low and Utah had to give in. Nene scored most of his points in the second quarter and provided the spark to take Denver to the win. Kenyon Martin continued where Nene left off, and the pair had 24 points each. Denver's backcourt didn't play much of a part as they were shut down by the Jazz man-to-man defence, as was Carmelo Anthony, who managed few points against Andrei Kirilenko. In the end the Jazz team proved little match for Denver, who have a tough game coming up against Conference rivals Portland.

Starters:
Denver (14-4 before game)
C M. Camby
F K. Martin
F C. Anthony
G J. Johnson
G J. Williams

Utah (7-8 before game)
C J. Collins
F C. Boozer
F A. Kirilenko
G R. Bell
G D. Williams

Player of the game:
Martin DEN 24/9

Team leaders:
DEN: Nene 24/8, Camby 17/9
UTA: Williams 17, Kirilenko 15/4, Eisley 6/5 ast

Box scores:
Nuggets
Jazz

Pictures:

Martin's still flying high.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Notes:

I wish more teams played zone. Why? It would leave guys open outside. There's no point not going inside if everyone on the perimeter is guarded!

I changed on-ball physical defence from 33 to 38 and double team effectiveness from 62 to 64, and also FT difficulty from 65 to 67. It was okay but with tougher defence the Jazz just got more shooting fouls. I might make it harder for the CPU to foul in order to make it harder for me to shoot.

I won't stop going inside just because everyone else's inside play sucks.

With these settings I will be seriously surprised if I don't lose soon. Then again I've got better, I think I see open players and mismatches better.

Thanks for the feedback once again.

Yeah, I was surprised that Bryant and Boozer didn't score more. I rarely do double teams and I only had a double team on Kobe for a couple of minutes.

Shooting foul frequency is going from 35 to 30 next game. This will affect both teams, I rarely get into foul trouble but the CPU does it way too often. This should make it just a little tougher once again.

In their next game the Nuggets go up against the surprise package of the season, the Portland Trail Blazers. Denver currently have the best record in the league, while Portland stand at fourth place in the Western Conference.

Denver (15-4 before game)
C M. Camby
F K. Martin
F C. Anthony
G J. Johnson
G J. Williams

Portland (12-5 before game)

DENVER COME AWAY WITH WIN AGAINST TOUGH PORTLAND TEAM

Denver 98
Portland 86

Denver Nuggets are looking unstoppable. In a potentially hazardous game against Portland Trail Blazers, the Nuggets played a solid game against a very good team and came away with a 12-point win. Portland were hitting their shots very well and led by a point going into half time. Denver were unfazed by this and came out very strong into the second half of the game, and took control of the game as always with their strong inside play. As the game went on, Denver rebounded the ball better and better and there was no way back for Portland. Marcus Camby, Kenyon Martin, Carmelo Anthony and Nene all contributed with good scoring, and they were helped by good passing by point guard Jason Williams. Portland's top player was center Zach Randolph, who managed 24 points and six rebounds.

"This was a tough game", said Nuggets point guard Earl Boykins. "You could see why they have such a good record. They work well as a team but fortunately our big guys rebounded the ball very well tonight. That's what made the difference, I think." Denver will be looking to keep going strong against the Washington Wizards next week. It will be their last game before the All-Star Weekend which will be coming to Pepsi Center.

Starters:
Denver (15-4 before game)
C M. Camby
F K. Martin
F C. Anthony
G J. Johnson
G J. Williams

Portland (12-5 before game)
C Z. Randolph
F S. Abdur-Rahim
F D. Miles
G D. Anderson
G D. Stoudamire

Player of the game:
Martin DEN 30/4

Team leaders:
DEN: Camby 16/11, Nene 17/7, Anthony 15
POR: Randolph 24/6, Abdur-Rahim 18/3, Anderson 16

Box scores:
Nuggets

NUGGETS FINALLY LOSE

Denver 80
Washington 92

Potentially it was another game where the Denver Nuggets would destroy the other team with their inside play, but in the end it proved to be something completely different. The beginning of the game was very close, and it looked to be only a matter of time until the Nuggets would again pull away to a comfortable lead, with center Marcus Camby showing the way by scoring and rebounding. It wasn't to be however, because the Wizards were the team to take the lead, thanks to their accurate three-point shooting. They had 11 threes from 17 attempts and it proved too much for Denver to answer. Bredan Haywood took care of business inside for the Wizards with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Gilbert Arenas put up 28 points. The game also featured the Player Of The Month award winners for January, Antawn Jamison for Washington and Kenyon Martin for Denver. Jamison had a solid 14 points, 7 boards and five assists, while Martin wasn't quite up to his level with 16 and 10.

"It's a long season", said Martin after the game. "Every team will lose games. What matters is how you react to losing. If we drop our heads we can lose the next game as well, but if we keep playing hard and believe in ourselves, we'll bounce right back." Martin has been chosen as the only Nugget to feature in next week's All-Star game in Denver. The Nuggets continue soon after the weekend with a game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Starters:
Denver (16-4 before game)
C M. Camby
F K. Martin
F C. Anthony
G J. Johnson
G J. Williams

Washington (11-10 before game)
C B. Haywood
F J. Jeffries
F A. Jamison
G L. Hughes
G G. Arenas

Player of the game:

Team leaders:
DEN: Camby 26/11, Martin 16/10, Johnson 13/4
WAS: Arenas 28, Hughes 16/4 ast, Jamison 14/7/5 ast

Woah. I was beginning to wonder when I would lose after the Portland game. It's funny when you're losing you change your game easily and start rushing things although I play quite a fast game sometimes anyway.

Nuggets latest: Kenyon Martin will be the only Nuggets player to feature in the All-Star Game. He is starting on the bench for the Western All-Stars. Martin and Carmelo Anthony have been chosen to participate in the Slam Dunk Competition.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The fact that I'm playing only a 29-game season will probably explain some of the choices for the All-Stars. Anyway, should be good games, those two. I'm not sure what to do with the Slam-Dunk Competition because I haven't practiced those at all!

Cheers, *Sensation*. My All-Star Game report is missing the lineups because for some reason you can't get the box score. Too bad, but anyway here's a recap. It's late and I'm tired so there might be some mistakes but I'll look into these later. Just felt like posting it so....
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WEST BEAT EAST, DUNCAN IS ALL-STAR MVP

All-Stars East (CPU) 102
All-Stars West (USER) 103

The Western All-Stars beat the Eastern All-Stars in a close game in Denver last night. The difference maker between the two teams was MVP winner Tim Duncan, who scored 34 points and grabbed seven rebounds. It was a close game throughout, with both teams holding the lead at different stages of the game. In the end it came down to Duncan hitting two free throws with only seconds remaining to make it a one-point lead for the West. Gilbert Arenas was unable to hit the buzzer beater and so the West walked away with the win. The game showcased the brightest talents of the league along with a couple of surprising choices, but there were also a couple of notable absentees, such as Kevin Garnett and Allen Iverson who were unable to draw enough votes from the fans. As always, it was good times and highlights, with the only unfortunate occurrence being an injury to Houston Rockets center Yao Ming.

Team leaders:
ASE: Pierce 20/5, Arenas 17/5 ast, O'Neal 14/6, Hamilton 12/3
ASW: Bryant 14, Martin 14, Magloire 11/11, Yao 11/6

MARTIN WINS SLAM DUNK CONTEST

Kenyon Martin DEN (CPU) 150 points
Desmond Mason MIL (CPU) 139 points
Kobe Bryant LAL (CPU) 135 points
Carmelo Anthony DEN (CPU) 134 points

Kenyon Martin of the Denver Nuggets took home the award for the winner of this year's slam dunk contest. In a contest with high-quality dunks, Martin was the player who kept his nerve going into the final round of the three-dunk one-round competition. After the first two dunks, Martin, Desmond Mason and Kobe Bryant were all tied at 100 points each after spectacular efforts, but Mason and Bryant didn't have anything but relatively safe dunks up their sleeve for the final dunk. Carmelo Anthony didn't perform his best dunks and was out of the contest before making his best dunk.

BOGUT DOMINATES AS ROOKIES BEAT SOPHOMORES

Rookies 94 (USER)
Sophomores 83 (CPU)

In a surprising win, the All-Rookie team beat the All-Sophomore team to kick off the NBA All-Star Weekend in Denver, Colorado. The dominant player was Milwaukee Bucks' center Andrew Bogut, who put up 34 points and 13 rebounds to make him MVP of the game. The Sophomore team had to settle with a loss despite making most of the highlight plays of the game.

Thanks for the feedback. In the Rookie-Sophomore game I THINK I had 10 points and 10 boards with Villanueva. He and Bogut had to stay on for full minutes because they were the only post players in the rookies team!

The stats in full, he's the starting center for Toronto.

PF C. Villanueva
GP 22 GS 22 PPG 7.5 RPG 6.0 APG 3.0 SPG 0.64 BPG 0.95 ORPG 1.6 DRPG 4.4 PTS 164 REBS 132 AST 66 BLK 21 STL 14 TO 28 FOULS 71 MINS 630 FG/ATT 63/162 FG% .389 3P/ATT 2/12 3P% .167 FT/ATT 36/61 FT% .590 O.REB 36 D.REB 96

Note 10-min quarters

I'll be playing the Raptors soon, first I'll get Memphis out of the way.

...And yeah, K-Mart is the champ, although I had nothing to do with it. I never really got into all that slam-dunk stuff although they are very impressive.

DENVER BEAT MEMPHIS IN DOUBLE OT THRILLER

(after double OT)
Memphis 115
Denver 116

Denver Nuggets played their closest game of the season so far last night at the Pepsi Center in Denver. They were able to beat the Memphis Grizzlies, but had to go through two overtime periods to do so. The game looked to be under control for the Nuggets after a solid first half, but the Grizzlies got back into the game slowly and got a four-point lead in the fourth quarter. Denver battled on to take the lead but Shane Battier's three-pointer with 1.2 seconds left meant the game was heading to OT. Memphis had a chance to decide the game at the end of the first overtime but failed to, and so a second period had to be played. Denver almost lost the game due to a Gasol basket following a bad inbounds pass by Anthony, but were rescued by Nene, who scored with a slam dunk with just seconds left. Gasol put up the final shot for Memphis from a long way out but it wasn't to be. It was the closest game the Nuggets had played all season, and it featured some great performances by star players from both teams. Slam-dunk champion Martin had 40 points, while former Nugget Andre Miller made 11 assists for Memphis and Stro Swift had a great game despite fouling out, putting up 14 points, 13 rebounds and 6 blocks.

Starters:
Memphis (10-7 before game)
C P. Gasol
F S. Swift
F S. Battier
G M. Miller
G A. Miller

Denver (16-5 before game)
C M. Camby
F K. Martin
F C. Anthony
G J. Johnson
G J. Williams

Player of the game:
Martin DEN 40/13

Team leaders:
MEM: Gasol 28/7, Battier 21/6, A. Miller 12/11 ast, Swift 14/13/6 blk
DEN: Nene 25/8, Camby 14/8, Williams 10/4/3 ast

Box scores:
Grizzlies

Yeah, well. It's starting to feel the same all the time. Nene puts up 25 points, yeah yeah...

Although I would like to see how I do in the playoffs. Then again if Spurs play Horry on Martin then it's gonna be no problem to make the finals... but I want to see if there's someone out there who can beat me.

Anyway I'm a bit disappointed it got so easy so quickly. I wanted to keep going for a few seasons but if I win the championship I'm not sure what's left for me to do with this team.
