Jersey Switches

I found this in the sig request thread,

I find a pic of the player I want. Cut it out, cut out the jersey to a new layer and de-saturate. Then I clone brush and smudge out the number/team name. Use the pen tool to select and colourize the jersey and trim to the correct colour. Then I take a pic that shows the number and team name of the team I'm switching to in a similar position to what I need and copy-paste + colour correction.

what is a clone brush? is it the kind of brush you download form deviant art or is it already on ps?

It's already in Photoshop, look through the tools and you'll see it.

The Raptors ones don't look great. Finding good numbers/team name stuff was tough. But resized to fit a sig it looks fine.

I got lost at new layer and de-saturate...

Then you shouldn't be worrying about doing a jersey switch and should learn the basics first.
