50 hours-ish, then I started hallucinating and my mother and gf forced to the hospital. Had a n-a-s-t-y 6 months with insomnia, worst time of my life.
Sat Jul 16, 2005 5:28 pm
I stayed awake for 75 hours once. Was a proud/deliberate moment.

Insomnia is a scary thing man.. my doctor said I have a small case of it but it's a mental thing. You won't be able to sleep if you have shit on your mind. If you worry lots or if you had a stressfull day. Just a few weeks ago I was at Cyanides house and he saw me when I was up for like 4 days... not a minute of sleep. I just wasn't myself.
Many kids between the age of 16-19 don't sleep as much as they should. When they stay up its not just that they cant fall asleep but they don't let themselves. Quickly jumping to the conclusion that they might have Insomnia.
I actually did lots of research on Insomnia and it has helped me.. also find something to keep you physically active like going to the gym or playing sports.
Here's some interesting things I saved about it:
What habits promote a good night's sleep?
Good sleep habits can help you get a good night's sleep. For example:
Try to go to sleep at the same time each night and get up at the same time each morning. Try not to take naps during the day because naps may make you less sleepy at night.
Avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol late in the day. Caffeine and nicotine are stimulants and can keep you from falling asleep. Alcohol can cause waking in the night and interferes with sleep quality.
Get regular exercise. Try not to exercise close to bedtime because it may stimulate you and make it hard to fall asleep. Experts suggest not exercising for 3 hours before the time you go to sleep.
Don't eat a heavy meal late in the day. A light snack before bedtime, however, may help you sleep.
Make your sleeping place comfortable. Be sure that it is dark, quiet, and not too warm or too cold. If light is a problem, try a sleeping mask. If noise is a problem, try earplugs, a fan, or a "white noise" machine to cover up the sounds.
Follow a routine to help relax and wind down before sleep, such as reading a book, listening to music, or taking a bath.
Avoid using your bed for anything other than sleep or sex.
If you can't fall asleep and don't feel drowsy, get up and read or do something that is not overly stimulating until you feel sleepy.
If you have trouble lying awake worrying about things, try making a to-do list before you go to bed. This may help you to "let go" of those worries overnight.
That should help... if it doesn't then lay off the cocaine

Shammond williams had a dnp - insomnia once.. True story.

I lasted 48 hours once. Never done it again. If you got Insomnia, try tiring yourself in one day like playing ball, etc. Also, you can exercise before you sleep. It's true.

The longest I've lasted was about 31 hours, because I was at a all-nighter party sort of thing. But if I really have something on my mind, I find it easy to stay awake (and on the negative side, hard to fall asleep). Otherwise, I can get tired and fall asleep really easily. For some reason it happens a lot in Social Studies

I never missed a night of sleep, except for one day when I couldn't sleep at all because I was so excited about my Dell computer being brought in the next day

By the time I got it, I lost my excitement because I just wanted to sleep

Best way to avoid a fire

20+ hours

What can I say? I like sleeping. But I have some problem to fall sleep. I have to be completely relaxed for about 20 minutes to sleep. My dad can just go to bed and sleep any time he wants

I have the same problem. Whenever I lie down I usually tend to think about a lot of things and that usually keeps me awake. It takes me like an hour and a half to just close my eyes..... It really pisses me off when I have to take a piss during the night because I find it so hard to get back to sleep.

My girlfriend does the exact same thing. Quite often at like 3 or 4 am I'll get an SMS saying she can't sleep... for some strange reason, I'm really good at not sleeping at all but if I try to go to sleep I'm out straight away. I can sleep for 12 hours, wake up, spend 15 minutes awake, then just drop back off to sleep again. But if I want to stay awake deliberately I can go for like 3 or 4 days without sleep.
My mum's sleeping issues are a whole nother (bizarre) story.

not insomnia... lol-i fell asleep shortly after i wrote the beginning of this thread.
Sun Jul 17, 2005 5:24 am
I have slept 7 hours everynight since I was like 12.
My sleeping sucks, and I have to be like 30 min. on the bed before sleeping. I also wake up at the slightest noise.
My dad put his head on the pillow and starts snoring loudly, it makes me jealous.
Sun Jul 17, 2005 5:50 am
30 minutes... thats fast. it usually takes me 1-3 hours before i go to sleep. i just think about different things. its weird, cause the last couple of dreams i have had have been the same type of stuff i have thought about before i actually went to sleep. like i remember thinking about this one girl that i used to date, and my dream was her! then just last night i thought about me going to this school type function and i dreamed about it! weird

...

I know what you guys mean. I'm always thinking about a lot of stuff before I sleep, and that can keep me up between 15 minutes to 2 hours, and usually I don't fall asleep till 30-45 mins, unless I'm really really tired. I'm more tired during the day than at night, since that's where all the "fun" is.
Sun Jul 17, 2005 6:31 am
Well, I just hit the 'off' switch and I'm off snoozing. I'm a regular robot. If I say I want to wake up at 5 am, I don't need an alalm clock, I have a biological one built inside me. When it hits 5am, I'm up like someone lit a fire up my ass.

I'm guessing that will happen when you have 2 newborns screaming their lungs out in the middle of the night.
Sun Jul 17, 2005 11:38 am
i've been awake for 48 hours before i was pretty much drained
Sun Jul 17, 2005 11:58 am
I stayed up for Two Days.
From July 2nd to July 3rd...
Painful and MIND BOGGLING I ended up going to bed at 4PM, woke up at 5AM on the 4th, now I'm back on schedule with the way I sleep.

True.

But I'm used to sudden awakenings, so I'll get used to it.
