My Fake Season: Next Season Starts Now

Postby hoopscitylive on Mon Jun 27, 2005 12:16 pm

Instead of posting to the forum, I've created a new site where I'm simulating the 2005-06 Bulls season. You can check it out at http://www.myfakeseason.com. Hope you like it!

Wow, that's a killer idea. I'd love to do the same website deal but I don't have hosting (I do have a website, just no space - tribalgaming.net). Looks great, keep up the good work.

Wormy:

A lot of PHP and MySQL. :)

Basically I wrote a script that reads NBA Live's boxscores into a database, and the various stats pages and tables on the main page refer to that database. I will be adding a separate blog in the near future where I go into more detail about how it works, as well as talking about improvements to NBA Live and basketball in general.

Thanks for checking it out!

Flash -

All of the transactions that didn't involve the Bulls were done by the CPU. Really the only trades that took place were Chauncey Billups for Morris Peterson and Donyell Marshall for Marquis Daniels. (Not very good trades, IMO) Also the Lakers and Warriors traded rookies after the draft. The CPU very rarely makes trades. The rest were free-agent signings. I'll probably go back and add all of the off-season transactions to the News page eventually.
