I don't know if you guys caught these on the media, but they're having these concerts all over the world. It's to promote awareness about world poverty before the congregation of the G8 countries in the next month or so. They're having a concert in each of the G8 countries. Some of these facts are probably wrong, just writing this off the top of my head. But anyways, it's a free concert and I was wondering if anybody got some tickets?
I got tickets for the show in Canada... but man, the lineup compared to the other shows in like Philly or England is WEAK.

Agreed. Sir Bob said no to Black Sabbath.
The original live 8 was all about heavy rock concerts..
When are Queen and their replacement singer gonna get their act together and perform at live 8 .
I just took a closer look at the live 8 lineup and noticed wet wet wet

.

Thats old school right there.

It was because Toronto couldn't organize it in time. Doesn't make a huge difference, there's stioll gonna be about 250,000 people at Molson Park, and its only a 2-3 hour drive.
Even if I could go, I wouldn't want to. The lineup could not be shittier. Why no Rush? Why no CS&N? Why no Green Day? Instead we get these shitty bands that for some reason are eregarded as the reputation for Canadian music.
Simple Plan - worst punk band ever. If that pussy keeps whining through every song, I'm going to go break out the BSB.
Celine Dion - Movie soundtracks and commercials are all she does, yet somehow shes remained "a star" for almost 15 years.
The Barenaked Ladies - well...they show up for every Canadian concert...as long as theres free room and board
Our Lady Peace - cream filled sprinkled donuts of rock
I'm not going to waste a weekend of tavel just to see Deep Purple for 20 minutes.

Actually, Molson Park can only fit 35,000 people...
The only redeeming factor might be the appearance of the Rolling Stones. And Jet was added recently

Yes, yes they are.
A friend of mine just showed them to me two days ago, and I haven't listened to anything else in two days.
Holy Crap they rock.

Alright, now here's the question... who do I take? My old man or a buddy I've known since I was real young...
See for most, it'd be a no brainer to take their dad, but I'm just worried that it'd be a "waste" of a ticket. Now that's an awful thing to say, but I'm not sure if he knows what this kind of concert is like... he probably just wants to go because of the hype. But I don't know if he'll like most of the music and if he's willing to stand out in the heat for 8 hours. Decisions decisions... now if I had the guts, I'd ask a girl to go with me, but that's a different story...
