Chappelle Is Back

To follow up on the earlier news that the DVD set of Chappelle's Show second season sold the most of any TV DVD in the format's history comes this little tidbit from TV Barn: Chappelle surprised the crowd at the L.A. Improv last night by appearing on stage and doing his stand up act. He didn't really have a prepared act, he just talked about all the recent news surrounding his disappearance. The show was a regular comedy night put on by collegehumor.com, and somehow these folks have not only had Chappelle on their stage this year but also Chris Rock, Harland Williams, Sarah Silverman, and Dave Atell.

Finally! Maybe the Third season can now finally air on Comedy Central.

I heard that they're having contract issues, but if he can be back for the 3rd season, that would be awesome

Dave had said people around him weren't giving him what he wanted and were turning into yes-men with fame. Most of the contract disputes were last year. I don't know why there'd be contract issues now? Unless Comedy Central wants a "no running away to Africa" clause.

Anybody listened to the commentary on season 2? He says when he lived in LA he would go out drinking with Verne Troyer (Mini-Me), and Slash from Guns and Roses. :O And the Rick James sketch came around because some guys were talking about him and Charlie Murphy walked up and said 'ya know, I had to beat that nigga up at least 10 times', then walked off to grab lunch.

Commentary on funny tv shows is always so good.
