A lot of his earlier movies followed the same basic formula. A somewhat immature/not-so-intelligent guy overcomes various obstacles and wins over the female lead. Not necessarily a bad thing as they also had some good lines and some funny random gags. Bulletproof is an exception to the rule as far as that era is concerned.

His characters changed a bit after Big Daddy, much like the Sonny Koufax character in the film. Anger Management did follow a similar principle, but his character wasn't exactly immature and certainly a far cry from Billy Madison. These days, his characters seem a lot more "grown up".

well Billy Madison was essentially a 11 year old in a 30-something year olds body.
haha.

and did annybody see "Punch Drunk Love?" :?

That was my point. His recent characters haven't been like that, though various elements of the Billy Madison plot still exist in some of his recent work.

Awesome movie. A hit-or-miss. You have to like the style. If you don't, you'll end up sleeeping through the film.

It was extremely out-of-character for Sandler, so if people went to the movie expecting Billy Madison playing the lead role, they'd probably walk out before the halfway point.

Definitely seeing the longest yard, since they've been using GnR songs during the promotions .. "welcome to the jungle' and 'paradise city'... :headbang:

and.... why did this subject come up? :?

Tue May 24, 2005 4:59 am

 If you'd bother reading the thread you'd know why the subject came up, since you can't let's recap.

CoolMac asked who the actress was, Sit replied. Jowe thought it would be interesting to let us know that she's married to a sports star (which was quite intruiging given I didn't know that), and that's how we came to the subject. Either you have an understanding problem or you just wanted to act dumb so that you could post a couple more posts. Take your pick.
