So who's seen it? I thought it was awesome. I put it on the same level as A New Hope(4 stars), but a notch below Empire Strikes Back(5 stars).

I saw it last night, it was pretty good. But pretty much all the acting (bar Obi-Wan) was just bad. Those scenes with just Anakin and Padme just made me cringe.

As my religion teacher said... adding a soppy lovestory into the middle of this giant battle/action movie wasnt the best idea but i guess... its what was needed to make anakin evil...

Ya Natalie Portman did a really shit job acting, even when she was giving birth

Kickass movie dude. i thought the acting by portman was downright terrible in every aspect.
still a kickass movie.
who DIDN'T LOVE THE anakin/obi and yoda/sidious fight? badass.. gotta give props to r2d2 for kicking some mega droid ass. "slick" baby..

lol
This one had some pretty funny little moments: R2D2 messing up the droids. Yoda walking in to that room and using the force to slam the guards against the wall immediately.
I saw some reviews at imdb that said Portman was fantastic. :O

Portman was horrible.... I think Obi-Wan's acting was improved a lot more.... Hayden Christianson was crap!

Best of the three prequels without a doubt.

I'll see it soon, cant stand going to a packed theatre.
sounds like its right up there with Empire and ROTJ, except for the Anakin/Padme scenes.
I can't believe they got such crappy acting from such great actors. McGregor was amazing in Trainspotting, Natalie Portman was amazing in Closer, and from what I've heard, Christiansen was great in Life as a House.
I think what screwed up this one was the writing of Lucas. Its fine if he wants to use his storyline, but all the dialogue should've been left to someone better.

I'll problably see it next weekend to avoid the mob of opening weekend. Sounds like it won't let me down.

I'm absolutely sick of hearing about Star Wars. I fell asleep in the middle of the first one it was so boring. Then something possessed me to see the second one and it sucked almost as bad. I stayed awake but spent the two hours throwing shit at the people in front of me. THEY SUCK! NOW STFU ABOUT THEM!
that is all

That does not mean that this movie is going to be bad. I was reading the critics reviews and they said the same thing but they said this movie was good.
I am going to see it next weekend possibly because I want to avoid the mobs of people that go to see it as soon as possible

It's not so much the acting as it is the incredibly stupid dialogue. I almost laughed when ...
SPOILER
Darth Vader yelled "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" near the end... it reminded me of a comedy skit or something
Mon May 23, 2005 8:11 pm
Yoda was the best actor in the movie.. and hes computer generated!
Mon May 23, 2005 8:13 pm
that skit would be SPACE BALLS, may the scwartz be with you:
it's okay but i sure think the ticket price shouldn't be that high:
and oh yeah i wore a trooper helemet on my way inside the cinema last thursday

I just got home from seeing it, I'm not a star wars fan... I can hardly remember anything from the original movies but I thought this one kicked ass. The only real critisism I have is that there were certain things that they could've made more dramatic. For instance...
*SPOILER*.. sort of
When Anakin saved the Sith guy from Samuel L Jackson and his purple lightsaber, it was just like "oh yeah, your name's now Darth Vader. Good stuff, go kill people". Or when he got messed up and had to wear the suit, they should've expanded on that.
Tue May 24, 2005 12:24 am
i didn't like the movie.. it was too predictable.. and
spoiler i think..
when padme was bearing the babies, there were no emotions..
Tue May 24, 2005 4:04 am
it was too predictable
Lol that's sort of like saying you didn't like the Titanic because you already knew the ship was going to sink.

haha, well Titanic sucked.
This is COMPLETELY different

It was a good movie, but you have to remember that all the Star Wars movies have bad acting and cheesy lines.
And of course it's predictable if you've seen the other ones before hand.
Tue May 24, 2005 9:48 am
Saying it's predictable is kind of a null point, because the point is that you're seeing the story before the originals. That makes it interesting. I just saw the end of Episode II on TV last night, and even though I saw it and of course the originals, it was interesting to see the Jedi with the eventual Stormtroopers, and the dark side with their plans for the "Ultimate Weapon" the Death Star.

yeah, the Death Star owned.
Reminds me of the conversation they had on "Clerks".....

I think one of the best scenes in the movie was when Mace Windu died (though it's not because he did, it was just a great scene).
I also kind of feel sorry for Vader in the end. Just think about it. In the beginning of the movie he was a Jedi, Obi Wan liked him, he had Amidalla, etc etc. Then he finds out she'll die, the council doesn't exactly favor him, one of his great friends is a Sith Lord, blah blah blah. Palpatine offered to help, which is good. So he drags Anakin into all this evil mess. Obi Wan and Anakin turn on each other. Now keep in mind (not trying to sound gay) but Anakin was a handsome guy, yea he had a mechanical arm but maybe some girls dig mechanical arms anyways, he got his other arm and legs cut off, then got horribly burned, so it's pretty messed up now. Then when hes rebuilt as Vader he finds out Amidalla dies anyway, (by the way when James Jones goes "NOOOOO" it sounds really corny) and you can see how much his life has turned around.
