Hi All,
Hoping I can get an answer to this - as this has been debated among me and my friends.
Does changing a player's Primary and/or Secondary position (in Edit Player) affect the way he plays? For example, if i was to change Shaq's primary position to SF and play him at SF, would he run the break better, guard perimiter better than if i was to only change his spot in the lineup?
Not sure if anyone has the factual answer, if not - everyone's opinions are welcomed!

This can affect the rating of the player, there is some skills needed to change spot.
If u use Shaq as SF he will need mo speed, quick, dribb, he also need to dribb like a G not like a C or PF, the distance for shoot is not the same too, by doing this you can upgrade or degrade a player efficacity, shaq can't stop Hughes in the same spot without fouls, 1 cross in the middle of the court and bye bye shaq.

imo the only benefit is in trading:
then you would have a sf with a great overall rating, and the green interest bar would
be low for the other teams' sf, so it would be easier to get guys like vince, carmelo, etc.

His position in his INFO does not, but his position in your roster during the actual game does.
For example, i use Radmanovic alternatively at SF & PF. When i put him in the SF slot he stays behind the 3 PT line and hits 3 pointers. When i put him in the PF spot he stays near the paint and shoots short to mid 2 pointers.

As far as changing his strengths and weaknesses...no, because his ratings remain the same (though his overall rating will be recalculated). However making Shaq a small forward would affect automatic substitutions and playing him at small forward would probably see him out on the perimeter more often. But calling for a post up using quick plays would send him into the post, as the player with the highest inside scoring rating is the first one to post up when you call that play.

I recently modified Wade's position to SG as primary and his overall rating dropped by 1 point.
