:eh:

Elton John's best tracks are prolly "Your Song", "Thats why they call it the blues", "Sacrifice" and the ever famous "Candle In The Wind" ....theirs also a good song of his which appears at the end of the movie "And the band played on"...not sure of the title though.

Anyway I would really like to see that performance though I kinda hate Elton John.
Has anyone here seen it?

I've got that video (Y) Elton does hte start of of it and axl comes in near the end bit (Y)/. :headbang:

I have the mp3 of it on a dvd somewhere. If u really want it i could upload it.

Brian May is a better gutarist then Slash technique wise, but slash is more creative riff and solo wise. Also is straight up Cool.... who else can say they legally died twice.

Elton John is pretty good, his music isnt "my music" but i still think he's got some damn good songs out. :!:

Again: are you kidding me?! The fact that Freddie was homosexual didn't destroyed the bands images a goddamn thing. And how can you dislike him just because of the fact that he was gay? That got nothing to do with genius musican that he was.

TOOLmac wrote:..metallica will kick beatles butt when it comes to metal rock.....so i have to say the WHITE ALBUM is still the rockest(not heavy metal only rock) album ever.

Great, lets compare the Beatles with Metallica, almost the same thing
And how the hell can you headbang to the Beatles btw :?

Najira wrote:Axel Rose performance was quite strange considering that Rose had made clear he hated homosexuals..

You know, I don't think he really hated homosexuals, it was just because of that stupid lyric he wrote in "One in a million"
Axl Rose wrote:Immigrants and faggots
They make no sense to me
They come to our country
And think they'll do as they please
Like start some mini Iran,
Or spread some fuckin' disease
They talk so many goddamn ways
It's all Greek to me

He explained himself later on in a interview but I don't remember what he said.

Jowe wrote:I have the mp3 of it on a dvd somewhere. If u really want it i could upload it.

That would be great if you could do that, thanks (b)

BTW: Elton John ain't a rockmusican if you ask me so why are we discussing him?
He is quite a good singer but his songs are bit too....."flowers, strawberry's and sunshine" to me if you know what I'm saying.

yeh elton john is pop.

Which is why you can't compare the beatles with metallica...they are from different genres.

this thread has officially been hijacked.

Have you guys heard of Cliff Burton?? Im sure yall must have.

Hes probably the greatest bass guitarist ever, damn I watched a Metallica concert on VCD when Cliff was with them, he plays frikkin lead parts on the bass. Just amazing, jaw dropping stuff. Jason Newsted = Avril Lavigne bassist when compared to him.

Duff (Y) plays lead on bass too. But Cliff burton was great, its too bad that he died in that freak bus accident. :(

Sat May 07, 2005 10:25 am

its too bad that he died in that freak bus accident.

Are those stories about him picking the shortest straw, getting to sleep under the glass window, which eventually broke and killed him? Metallica do have a song called "shortst straw" , so it got me thinking... :?:

:?

Avril lavigne isn't a band... Shes a solo artist, the 'band' are just session musicians.

Bon Jovi though you might have a point, since richie sambora is a great guitar player (Y)..

Mon May 09, 2005 8:47 pm

yeah Avril isnt bad because she actually plays her own instruments, writes her own songs, AND sings in her own voice.
But unfortunateally it ends there,
but in my opinion she isnt the worst out there

Talking about Cliff Burton who was with Metallica during the trashmetal days. He might been great as hell and all but the bass was rarely heard anyways during those years, I remember Metallica talking about this themselves (in a documentary) and how the new heavier sound with the "Black Album" record gave much more space for the bass (Dunno how to put it but I hope you get me).
