practise man... do spider dribbles, figure eights... crossovers and dribble heaps with ur non-natural hand!

The only thing you got to do is set up 4 cones and put like 3-4 feet between them. You go past the first cone with a crossover, then on the 2nd cone go behind your back, then 3rd cone spin move and 4th cone between the legs. Repeat etc.

That's a drill we do in HS bball conditioning. Another way to improve is by dribbling a tennis ball to improve your control.

I simply improved my dribbling by getting inspired by the and1 mixtapes. After watching those you'll get so inspired do you dribble a lot more on the court and the more you do it, the better you get (y)

The only way to improve ballhandling is practice.

Not only do you need good ballhandling, you also need to be able to penetrate with your speed and power. I suppose i'm talkin bout abs power.

Dribble with gloves on. Since you don't really have a feel for the ball, you have to just sense how to dribble. Then it'll be much easier with your hand.

You should buy these pills, called aspirines I believe.
Take about 200 and you're on your way to the NBA.

I hear Nash used to dribble tennis balls to improve his ball handling. you might want to try that

hmmm... gloves aye? maybe try dribble a tennis ball with gloves...
btw... was Wilt Chamberlin's 100 point game against the Knicks? I kept thinking it was against the Warriors

just noticed.... why did you have to inadvertently include (basketball) ?

^^^^
maybe there is no ball handling in volleyball after all
as a former coach....do the dribbling-squat position......then try to dribble with as low as you can.....this helps alot......then once you get the hang of it......do a full court running/dribbling exrcise then do lay ups.......this will help in your fast dribbling....

I'm not a real good ballhandler either. My friend said he bought a video over the summer and basically he told me if you want to improve your handles "You gotta dribble around cones blindfolded".. But I don't have cones.. It's not the fact that my off hand is weaker, (they are mostly the same) it's just that my ballhandling skills aren't all that great to begin with.

Sat May 07, 2005 4:14 pm

 how the hell are you going to dribble around cones blindfolded. The idea of being blindfolded is that you can't see, so for all you know you could be running straight past all of the cones.

just incase some crazy ass got confused and thought i was using it in a different context. lol

LOL I might have misquoted him, oh well. I really need to get ballhandling under control (no pun intended or whatever I just did) if I want to make the basketball team, tryouts are end of the year, I know the longer I wait the more I'm screwing myself. :( I wish there was like 1 drill that would be all I had to do and my handles would be solid.

You don't need to be flash, just as long as you can keep control of the ball you'll be fine. I used to hate ball handling drills in my own tryouts (N) something bad always happened, but then you've just got to make up for it in other areas... or do what I did and just become an automatic selection by playing well in the domestic comp
