Payton for allen?

Postby Brave Sir Rubin on Fri Feb 21, 2003 8:07 am

A few sources are reporting that the Sonics and Bucks have agreed to trade Ray Allen and Gary Payton. Mike Monroe stated that the trade was "complicated" on a Los Angeles radio station earlier today. KJR-AM in Seattle is discussing the rumor. Further speculation says the deal is complete and that other players involved are Desmond Mason, Kevin Ollie and Joel Przybilla.

Apparently the Sonics will announce a trade at a 2:00PM PST press conference (5:00PM EST).

The deal could be a 3-team deal that also sends Kenny Anderson to New Orleans in exchange for Elden Campbell.

More as this story develops.

It's official!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So you wanted a blockbuster at the trade deadline? At least one has occurred.

The Seattle Sonics and Milwaukee Bucks have hooked up on a collective haymaker. The Sonics have traded Gary Payton, a.k.a. Mister Seattle, along with Desmond Mason to Milwaukee for Ray Allen, Joel Przybilla and Kevin Ollie. On the side, Seattle traded disgruntled Kenny Anderson to New Orleans for Elden Campbell.

KJR-AM just announced that Ronald Murray is part of the deal, not Przybilla.

The Sonics will announce a trade at a 2:00PM PST press conference (5:00PM EST).The press conference is apparently running late.

Talk persists that this is just one trade that the league will soon sign off on. Pryzbilla could make only a pit stop in Seattle. There is also chatter of a Sam Cassell for Latrell Sprewell swap, a deal that would have to include other filler

wow, thats all i can say

good for both teams, though makes things complicated i nthe backcourt for the bucks, cassel, payton, redd and mason

for the sonics now wit hcampbell, its makes it difficult at pg, whos gonna start.......ollie???

anyway, i was talkin to tales and he suggested cassel and someone for spreewell, that sounds very good on the bucks part, but then there filled to the sky with guards

I think the Bucks got the best of the trade. But who's gonna start at PG? Cassell or Payton? Obviously Payton. Mason will finally get the minutes he deserves. The Sonics don't have a pg anymore(the traded Andeson to the Hornets for Campbell). Allen and Brent Barry will have to share minutes.

In his last game as a Sonic, GP scored 31 to lead them to a win.

Now Jason Kidd and GP will be battling it out in the East.

sorry for the double post :(

well....my analysis of the trade..

!st off....Seattle nailed Superstar RAy allen...for An old superstar Payton...which was a plus...then they got Joel Przybilla and Kevin Ollie for Mason, which is respectable....but still Mason is a pretty big loss...

meanwhile...the bucks should defenatly trade cassel for spree...that will imidiatly fill up the hole in SG...and Mason sholudn't start...

getting Campbell was great by Seatle...great size...

but seattle got a problem now...who starts at point? not Ollie i persume....i think that this is not the only seatle trade we'll see tonight...

Brent Barry and Ray Allen can both play in the backcourt for Seattle. Barry would run PG duties most of the time probably (since he did it beforehand), Allen could also handle some PG duties at time, since he did it before he found he wouldn't get the ball back from Cassell and Robinson.

The only thing I got wrong was about Spree, but Knicks did actually try to get rid of him, you can go to www.nba.com, if you don't believe me that.
