Crawford faced off against his former teammates for the second straight game
With both teams donning retro uniforms, the game turned into an old fashioned Bulls/Knicks showdown.
The Knicks, gaining new energy in front of their home fans, raced out to an early lead which they held through the first quarter. Chicago was dealt an early blow when Curry picked up his third foul eight minutes into the game, forcing him to take a seat for the remainder of the first half.
Jamal Crawford lit up his former team for 19 first half points, matching his total from the game in Chicago. He and Ben Gordon engaged in a scoring battle in the second half with saw Crawford finish with 30 points, while Gordon finished with 26. Gordon also drew a couple of fouls on Crawford which forced him to sit for most of the fourth quarter.
Chicago would overtake New York in the third quarter, and never relinquished the lead. With Crawford on the bench and Marbury struggling from the field, Chicago ran out a double digit advantage which they held until the final buzzer.

Boston once again caused the Bulls problems, but ultimately couldn't defend their home court as Ben Gordon scored 30 points to lead Chicago to a 93-84 victory.
Paul Pierce had 32 points on a blistering 15/22 field goals, scoring 20 of his 32 in the first half. But star rookie Ben Gordon shone for the Bulls in the second half. Having only scored 3 points on 1/3 shooting in the first two quarter, Gordon exploded for 16 points in the third quarter and added 11 more in the fourth as Chicago ran away with the game.
The Celtics led 26-21 at the first quarter break after seldom used reserve Frank Williams fouled Gary Payton on a three point attempt. Payton, who sat out the previous game while recovering from bone spurs in his foot, made two of the three free throws and would finish with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists on the night, though he shot 4/21 from the field.
Chicago remained close and tied the game by halftime thanks to the play of Eddy Curry and Tyson Chandler, who scored most of their combined 26 points in the first half. Ricky Davis had another great game against Chicago with 23 points and 8 rebounds but did not get many touches in the second half.
The two teams will meet again in 10 days and a fourth and final time in the regular season on March 25th.

Chicago overcame a 22 point deficit in the second quarter to defeat the Hawks 110-101 in the United Center to take their fourth straight victory.
Both teams began the game slowly but the Hawks found their rhythm late in the first quarter while Chicago continued to struggle. Atlanta held a 9 point lead after the first twelve minutes and soon ran the deficit up to double digits, leading by as many as 22 during the second quarter. However, the Bulls refused to quit and struck back with swarming defense and uptempo offense that cut the lead to 7 heading into the second half.
The Bulls continued their run in the third, taking the lead by the end of the quarter. Though Atlanta would reclaim the lead during the fourth, the Bulls stormed back and the teams traded baskets throughout the final three minutes, with Chicago holding onto a slim advantage. Finally the Hawks were forced to foul, allowing the Bulls to seal the game from the free throw line.
Tyson Chandler led the Bulls' attack in the second half, scoring 18 of his 26 points. Ben Gordon also had 26 points for the game and Eddy Curry had a game high 29 points. Antoine Walker shot 12/16 from the field and scored 28 points to go along with 6 rebounds.

I've played a few games, though I haven't bothered to write up any recaps. From now on if I keep this thread going, I'll probably just recap every few games and will only go in-depth if the game is interesting. A couple of nice developments in the last few games though.

After the game, medical staff informed me that Eddy Curry had a sore calf muscle and was day-to-day. I decided not to risk it, electing to sit him until he had recovered.

First head to head matchup for former teammates at Connecticut Ben Gordon and Emeka Okafor, the second and third picks in last year's draft. Kirk Hinrich registered a triple double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists. Nocioni started in place of Chandler and had 19 points to lead all scorers as well as 7 rebounds. Eddy Curry returned to the lineup starting at centre, finishing with 10 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks.
So it's been an interesting few games, even if the final score hasn't been too close. I may have had to up the Injury slider to around 70 to do it, but I've finally got an injury that will last a significant amount of time. Chandler will probably miss around 5 games with the sprained thumb.

Though he sat most of the fourth quarter due to foul trouble, the impressive rookie out of Connecticut scored the Bulls' final 7 points to lead Chicago to its ninth straight victory, a season high. Kirk Hinrich added 22 points and dished out 6 assists while Eddy Curry had 10 points and 15 rebounds.
The first two quarters were hotly contested as both teams clamped down on defense and had trouble making shots in the paint. The Bulls escaped the first half with a one point lead but seemed to be in control during the third quarter, where they outscored Boston by seven to hold a seemingly comfortable 8 point lead heading into the fourth.
But the Celtics were not finished. Though Paul Pierce had a quiet night with 12 points, rookie Delonte West and journeyman Ricky Davis led a charge that saw Boston take a 68-67 lead early in the fourth. The lead bounced back and forth with Chicago finally gaining the upper hand, with Gordon providing the final boost.

Ben Gordon recorded his first career triple double but it almost came in vain as the Bulls withstood a fourth quarter run by the Nets to leave New Jersey with a 79-73 victory.
Jason Kidd, a player who is no stranger to racking up triple doubles, scored 15 points but handed out only 2 assists and grabbed just 3 rebounds while committing 6 turnovers. Kidd did have five steals as the Nets hounded Chicago's ballhandlers. Gordon and Kirk Hinrich combined for 10 turnovers while Chicago committed 17 as a team.
Both teams struggled from the field throughout the game and while scoring picked up in the second half, both teams shot woefully from downtown. Only 4 of the 33 three pointers attempted were successful, with each team making two treys apiece.
Gordon almost completed his triple double by the end of the third quarter, but was just one rebound shy of the mark. He would finish the game with 24 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists.
The Bulls had difficulty scoring down the stretch and were dangerously close to allowing New Jersey to take the lead in the final two minutes. Hinrich keenly feeded Curry, Deng and Nocioni in the post for some easy baskets and the Nets were forced to foul, allowing Chicago to seal the game from the line.

A few days removed from his first triple double, Ben Gordon once again put on a show.
During the fourth quarter Miami was dealt two major blows: first was the loss of Dwyane Wade who left the game with an injured thumb. The second was Ben Gordon's 18 fourth quarter points that finally put the Bulls ahead to stay.
The game had been close throughout, thanks in part to Shaquille O'Neal's 26 points and 19 rebounds. The Diesel also had a surprisingly solid night from the charity stripe, shooting 6/8. He also blocked 3 shots and played all but 3 minutes in the game.
Wade scored 14 points in the first half but managed only two more before leaving the game in the fourth. Damon Jones also scored 16 points in 18 minutes off the bench.
But the Heat just couldn't slow down rookie sensation Gordon in the final period, as they were outscored 32-21. With the loss, the Heat fall to 22-27 while Chicago has run its winning streak to 11 for 30-14 record just under two weeks away from All-Star Weekend.

30-14....that's a very nice record for the Bulls....
I'm interested to see who will make it to All-Star Weekend....my picks are that Gordon, Deng and Nocioni will all suit up for rookies and Hinrich for the sophomores....no All-Stars though....

Agreed, though I'm hoping I might be able to get Curry onto the All-Star team as a reserve. I'll be disappointed if I don't get at least a couple of guys into the Rookie/Sophomore challenge though. Gordon's rated high enough to compete in the dunk contest and maybe Hinrich or Piatkowski will get picked to compete in the three point shootout.

You still won despite Shaq dominating on 10-15 shooting, but they only had 3 players in double figures so you did a pretty good job on everyone else. All-Star Weekend should be a good

Michael Finley and the Dallas Mavericks had the upper hand through most of the first three quarters, but Chicago dominated the fourth quarter to embarrass the Mavericks on their home floor 107-89.
Finley scored a career high 47 points on 18/32 shooting, also setting a new career high for field goals made. Though Finley scored 26 of his 47 points in the second half, Chicago was led by a balanced attack led by Ben Gordon and Eddy Curry who each scored 17. The Bulls had 7 players with double digits in scoring as they won their 12th straight.

Chicago signs guard/forward Shandon Anderson to a 1 year contract estimated to be worth $2.3 million. Chicago was also reportedly in talks with veteran forward Bo Outlaw, but could not agree to terms. Guard Steve Smith was placed on the injured list to make room for Anderson.

When the Houston Rockets took an 84-66 lead into the fourth quarter, most folks figured the game was over. The Chicago Bulls were not amongst their number.
The Bulls completed one of the greatest comebacks this season outscoring the Rockets 41-22 in the final quarter to escape Houston with a 107-106 victory. Playing the second game in a tough back-to-back road trip in Texas, Chicago got a little help from their bench to completely turn the tables on the Rockets, who led by double digits for most of the game.
Houston jumped out to an early lead as they capitalised on offensive rebounds and Yao Ming's seven inch height advantage on Eddy Curry. The Bulls could do little to stop Yao, who would finish with 28 points on 13/20 shooting. Tracy McGrady and Jim Jackson hit threes on consecutive possessions to extend the lead to as many as 24 during the second quarter. When a third quarter run led by rookie standout Ben Gordon failed to make much of a dent in the deficit, it appeared the game was over.
Eric Piatkowski, the Bulls' reserve swingman who has been used sparodically so far this season and came off the injured list a few days ago, had one of the most amazing quarters in NBA history. Pike scored 28 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter shooting a blistering 7/12 from beyond the arc. The Rockets were reeling as Chicago continued to close the gap with every three pointer Piatkowski drained.
Though he would finally cool off missing his final two three point attempts, his last made three closed the gap to one, 98-97 with under two minutes left. But the Rockets scored on a dunk by Yao and appeared to put a halt to the unlikely comeback. The Bulls would not be denied, trailing just 105-103 with under a minute left to play. Ben Gordon drove baseline and slammed home an emphatic dunk over Tracy McGrady to cut the deficit to one with 30 seconds left.
Houston would have a chance to put the game out of reach, but could not penetrate the Bulls' defense, forcing Juwan Howard to put up a desperation three that missed. Chicago hustled to grab the rebound and called timeout with 10 seconds left. Piatkowski inbounded the ball to Kirk Hinrich, who dumped the ball down low to Eddy Curry. Curry however had bad position and was forced to dish off to Luol Deng.
Deng caught the ball at the free throw line, pump faked Juwan Howard into the air and drove hard to the basket for a layup that sat on the rim and appeared to be on the verge of spinning out, before slowing dropping through the hoop as time expired. As the referees went through the formality of checking the replay, the Chicago bench went crazy imploring them to not to wave off the basket even though there seemed little doubt that the bucket would indeed count. With the indication of the made basket, the Bulls' players celebrated while Rockets fans sat in stunned silence.
