A big transaction in Utah

for

Image

2004 October 28
Utah Jazz aquired Josh Howard and Keith Van Horn from Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Carlos Boozer and Mehmet Okur.

Both teams were happy.
Dallas:
Carlos Boozer is a great power near the basket. He is young and will strengthen team's starting five.
Mehmet Okur, a player from Turkey, which has a lot of potential will be very good bench player.

Utah:
Josh Howard is a great defender and good scorer. He is very young and able to become a star player.
Keith Van Horn is good low post scorer, but the main reason why he was traded to Utah is expiring contract.

I like the trade. Good luck with your dynasty. It's good to see another new team being used for a dynasty.

Denver Nuggets - Utah Jazz 98 : 73 L

Very interesting trade, you gave a up a lot, and didn't seem to get much in return. But what do I know, it could turn out great for you! Good luck!

Fri Apr 15, 2005 8:37 am

Nice trade, and realistic if I may say so myself. Plus KVH returns to his mormon home... (Y)

Nice update, but you need wins.

Sun Apr 17, 2005 1:33 pm

Yeah man, Jazz are a team for more wins... and I like the trade; as tc said, maybe you gave up a lot, but it can be good for your team.

Best Jazz dynasty I saw (and the only one )

Sun Apr 17, 2005 3:01 pm

I'm loving all these losing dynasties, I don't feel so bad about mine now :D

you seem to be a bit thin up front, any plans to upgrade?!?

Yeah, I need wins, but I think that team with these rosters is not very strong, so I think it will be wise to wait next year and get good rookies and free agents :)

Next updates soon

Utah Jazz released Randy Livingston

Image
He is not young and will not progress. He didn't play any games this year and I think he is not necessary for my team.

I think it is good time to scout players. Here are the players I've scouted:
Image Image

My team needs good point guard and center, so I decided to scout these players. I think that Corey Beatty will be a good point guard, who can become one of the team leaders. Takahiko Tian is worse player than Beatty, but his development potential is great, so he can become a good center in the future.
I'm also very happy that rookies will be very strong this year, which is very acceptable for my team.

Here are the another month's results.

Los Angeles Lakers - Utah Jazz 103 : 82 L
Utah Jazz - Memphis Grizzlies 69 : 91 L
Seattle SuperSonics - Utah Jazz 94 : 91 L
Utah Jazz - Seattle SuperSonics 106 : 87 W

Utah Jazz - New York Knicks 103 : 96 W
Denver Nuggets - Utah Jazz 109 : 89 L
Utah Jazz - Minnesota Timberwolves 85 : 70 W
Phoenix Suns - Utah Jazz 97 : 87 L
Los Angeles Lakers - Utah Jazz 95 : 106 W

ALL-STAR WEEKEND

ROOKIE CHALLENGE

Rookies:

Sophomores:
ImageImageImageImageImage

Sophomores - Rookies 102 : 94

I was playing with Sophomores and I won. The game was not easy, because Rookies wanted to show their abilities.
Josh Howard scored 16 points, but the player of the game was Dwyane Wade, who scored 21 points, also had 3 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals.

SLAM DUNK CONTEST

Image Image Image Image

I was surprised when two players from my team was invited to participate in the slam dunk contest, but I was happy. Unfortunately none of my players has won this contest. Vince Carter shined that day and his last dunk has won the award.

3 POINT SHOOTOUT

I was very disappointed, when my players hasn't been invited to participate in the 3 POINT SHOOTOUT, so I don't know who has won this competition. Perhaps next year I will win it :)

NBA ALL-STAR GAME

EAST:
ImageImageImageImageImage

WEST:
ImageImageImageImageImage

EAST - WEST 114 : 111

I was playing with WEST, and I lost this game. Vince Carter was unstoppable. He scored 29 points, had 5 rebounds and 3 assists, Shaquille O'Neal added 21 points and 12 rebounds. At WEST the best players were Baron Davis, who had 24 points and 8 assists and Amare Stoudamire - 19 points and 5 blocks.
Vince Carter became the player of the game and won the second award this weekend.

Where was Carmelo in the Sophomores team! :(

Mon Apr 18, 2005 10:38 am

And where was Dwight Howard in the Rookie Challenge?

Mon Apr 18, 2005 10:47 am

Nice updates Marquis, a nice effort you're putting up here.

Just a little thing that could make it easier for you:

Instead of writing down every monthly result you could capture a screenshot of the schedule screen when th emonth is completed, and post it. Just an idea...

Carmelo played this game, but he wasn't in the starting 5. LeBron showed better results and he was chosen to the starting five.

John WB wrote:And where was Dwight Howard in the Rookie Challenge?

He also played this game, but he was on the bench, because Emeka is playing at the same position.

A good idea, but this year I will write down every result, making the post similar to each other. Next season I will do as you said. Really good idea
