RR's GSW[An update? Really? Battle of the RBK PGs]

I have decided to do another dynasty, I had a couple last year and I figured I’d do one this year for kicks. I’m gonna try to stay on top of this one by doing a lot of the planning ahead of time, because this is already copied and pasted from Microsoft Word where I’m already one step ahead of the game right now. I figure this way I won’t have long, postless days. Anyway, just a warning, I am black so that means I may update it a few times a week, once a week, or maybe just leave it there for a month. :D

Anyway, onto my settings:

Season- 82 games (I simmed the first month)
    Sim Quarter Length- 12 minutes
    Playoff Length- 7-7-7-7
    Sim Injuries- Yes
    Sim Type- Intervention
    Level- Superstar
    Quarter Length- 12 minutes
    CPU Assistance- Off
    Shot Control- User
    Andrew’s Sliders tweaked slightly

I will be using intervention a lot, because I don’t have a lot of time to play all of the games.

Warriors vs. Magic

Baron Davis must have heard CeeKay’s comment, and came out firing. He had a steady contribution from Jason Richardson and the rest of the team. Troy Murphy stayed on his hot streak too. Anyway, we were down by 3 entering the third quarter, and Dwight Howard was having one of his best nights. Francis only had 4 points in the first half, but provided most of the offense for the Magic in the third quarter. He and Baron Davis traded baskets for a few possessions, fighting to see which RBK pg was better. He had a few highlight slams and assists. Anyway, we managed to make a run, and took the lead about midway through the third. Jason Richardson then threw down a few tip slams, missing his own shot, but rebounding it and flushing it all in one motion (see BSPN Motion). We then proceeded to run away with the game. Even though our D was bad in the 3rd, allowing 30 points, we cut them just short of 20 in the 4th. Baron Davis almost racked up a triple double, and had an amazing tip slam, double clutching in mid-air while waiting on the ball to come off the rim. Adonal Foyle, believe it or not, is actually doing something. He had 12 points and 15 rebounds, hopefully increasing his trade value.

Warriors @ Celtics

This was a relatively long game, so I’m going second half forward. We started in the second half with a slim lead of 5, and Mickael Pietrus off of the bench reeking havoc. He had 18 in the first half, and was a big reason of why we were ahead. I kept him on the bench for the most part, but he still got his minutes when Dunleavy wasn’t doing what he should have been. He played excellent defense on Paul Pierce, and Pierce still was able to score a few heavily contested baskets. With Pietrus on the bench and 9 points from Richardson heading into the third, Richardson stepped up and brought hell to Boston doing the brunt of the scoring in the third. Boston then outscored us by 10 in the third quarter, taking a 5 point lead headed into the 4th.

Jason Richardson proceeded to play harder then. Boston went with a small lineup a couple times, with Ricky Davis in foul trouble, so J-Rich was matched up on Gary Payton, or another guard and made the most of it. We captured the lead back with about 20 seconds to go, but the Celtics forced a TO and GP spotted up for a game tying 3. We went into OT, with Pietrus playing most of the 4th and OT, showing how much he wants to start. We jumped out to a seven point lead at one point, but Boston battled back. Antoine Walker fouled out at the end of the period, but we couldn’t hit out FT’s. J-Rich went 0-5 in the second half from the stripe, which if he had made them, he would have got a new career high. So here we are, game tied with 20 seconds to go, looking to get a good look at another potential game winner. I had called and isolation with J-Rich, and that brought the double team. I swung the ball and hit Baron Davis with a good look at a 3. Unfortunately, he missed it, sending us into a second OT.

Paul Pierce started playing for real, and J-Rich didn’t slow down. Davis ran the break with perfection dropping off a few sweet dimes and putting home a couple dunks. Then the inevitable 3 point barrage from Boston kicked in, and they took a 1 point lead with 14 seconds to go. So what do we do now? Insert Derek Fisher, who is no stranger to late game heroics. With 4.9 seconds to go, he pro hopped into the lane and went up with a finger roll, hoping to draw a foul, but all he got was the contact, but still managed to put the ball in the bucket, giving us a 1 point lead. Boston was out of TO’s and was forced to hurl a full court prayer, which God said, Hell No! J-Rich hit 40 again for the second game in a row. He had 14 points total in the OT periods and both him and Davis played 50+ minutes in the game.

Warriors vs. Pacers

Photos from the game

In the first half we jumped out in front and lead the whole half. Jason Richardson took the first half over, putting up 24 pts 8 rebs and 4 assists in just the first half. In the second, we started up by 10, with the lead ever increasing. J-Rich was on fire, hitting 3’s whenever he felt like it. We had a lead by as many as 15, when Indiana came storming back. First Jamaal Tinsley hit a 3 cutting the lead to twelve. Then Ron Artest came up with a number of steals, creating offense for Indy. Reggie Miller, averaging 31 ppg and shooting 98 % from FT on the season started scoring like the old Reggie against the Knicks. He had 4 in the first half, but in the second half he erupted. We lost the lead in the fourth quarter with Richardson and Davis on the bench resting. We traded baskets for a while, and managed to tie the game up toward the end. With less than a minute and a 2 point lead, we made a stuuuuuuuuupid mistake. We got a shotclock violation without even getting a shot up. Indiana managed to get down the court and Jamaal Tinsley lined up a contested 3 and put it in Pietrus’s eye. With 20 seconds to go, we had the chance to win the game. Baron Davis hopped into the lane and went up for a shot, but missed it as time expired. We blew a friggin double digit lead, but J-Rich still had a career night, notching POG also.

Warriors @ LA Lakers

Warriors-Lakers photos

It was a close, hard fought game. We lead in the beginning but LA came charging back with Kobe Bryant on the bench. J-Rich picked up a 3rd foul shortly after Kobe picked his up in the second quarter. While J-Rich was in, him and Mickael Pietrus put on a dunking show. J-Rich went crazy with a couple tomahawks and a reverse dunk. Baron Davis picked up the slack and kept GS in the game. Down by as many as 15 we came back and in the fourth, we traded baskets with LA. Chucky Atkins played solidly, leading the Lakers in scoring for most of the game. In the end, down by 1 with 21 seconds to go, we had to decide who gets the final shot. First we decided Baron Davis, but Davis was forced to give it up to Jason Richardson. Richardson drove the lane hoping to get a foul and went up strong. He flushed it home with 1.9 seconds left in the game giving us the lead and eventually the win. Brian Grant missed a half court heave as time expired.

Dec. 1 vs. Minnesota

GS-MIN Photos
Jumped in in the 4th quarter, with a 7 point lead. We had trouble with turnovers, and the T-Wolves tightened up their defense forcing at least 3 shot clock violations. Baron Davis and Jason Richardson had problems scoring, but were trying to get to the foul line for most of their points. Kevin Garnett was hell on feet like usual, taking the offensive load and scoring double digits in the 4th quarter alone. He scored, blocked shots, and rebounded. We had nobody to match up against him. Down by 10 with less than 2 minutes to go, who do we go to? None other than Mike Dunleavy and Mikael Pietrus. Pietrus hit a wide open 3 off of a J-Rich assist, and Dunleavy came in on the next dead ball, and dropped in a 3. We came within 4, and managed to get a stop. J-Rich got fouled on a Jumper but only hit 1-2. From then on, we couldn’t finish. Derek Fisher got the privilege of taking the final shot from 3 to tie the game, but couldn’t come through.

As I said before, I simmed the first month and we went 8-5

First update coming shortly...

Tue Mar 29, 2005 5:38 am

I'm expecting a lot from this dynasty.
Nice headers (like 'Stat Recap'), they look tight.
You chose an exciting team too, I like them.
Are you gonna make any trades or keep their real roster?

Oh yeah and how can I get stuff from that store? :P
