thanks, i wasnt sure wat format to go wit but this way i thought it would take a lil of the personal journal idea which adds personality... and then the "professional" recap which says wat happens. BTW i didnt copy any ppls journal ideas, i actually had that idea b4 i saw it way back and i was gonna start 1 but it was too hard. lets face it, its not such an original idea, a lot of ppl could think of it lol back to u mafia, lol. thanks for the crunch time play-by-play. i really only did that because the crunch time was crazy and was so fun to play... and i actually took notes next to my xbox as things happened so its all exact info no exaggerations or lies lol...

Please... their a joke. I'll say it right now, quote me on this sir. The New York Knicks ain't makin the playoffs this year. I mean you can't blame Carmelo. I understand... how many points did he score? 8? I gotta say I deserved this honor to speak to you readers out there, I really did. 21 points and 11 rebounds in limited minutes. Shiiiiiii*, that's too easy man, too easy."

Magical Blowout

There really isn't much to say about this game. As a Knicks reporter it's embarassing to even think about it. New York shot 34% from the field and Orlando shot 45%. The story of the night is the whopping 20 2nd chance points that Orlando converted. Including putback fouls leading to FT's, that number could easily be up in the 30's. The Knicks' bigs did a horrible job cleaning up the defensive glass, allowing for 26 offensive rebounds.

The first 4 minutes of the game was the only period of time where the Knicks looked energetic and determined. Marbury had 3 assists in the quarter and did a real nice job getting his teammates involved, specifically Trevor Ariza who put down some nice jams. With a 1 point lead 17-16, Herb Williams went to the bench with 4 minutes to go in the 1st quarter. This proved a huge mistake, as Penny Hardaway and Tim Thomas hurt the Knicks and put them in a quick 5 point deficit. All of a sudden sloppy play became contagious and Marbury had 2 quick turnovers leading to Steve Francis slams on the other end. To cap it all off, Penny Hardaway was thrown into Herb Williams' doghouse after commiting a shooting foul on Steve Francis with 3 seconds left in the quarter. Being that Francis released it at halfcourt, it was puzzling why Penny even attempted to get in his face. Francis hit 2/3 free throws and New York came back down court quickly. Maurice Taylor swished a 3 as the time expired, but after further review the basket was waved off. Heading towards the 2nd quarter the score was 29:17 Orlando.

The 2nd quarter was no better for New York, and Williams didn't but Penny back into the game. Instead he opted for Earl Boykins who cut into Marbury's minutes, as well as Malik Rose stealing Sweetney's minutes. Nothing could get New York back into a groove, and they fell further behind. At the half the score was 55-32 for Orlando. The key players at the half were Kurt Thomas (6 points, 12 rebounds), and Grant Hill (12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists).

In the 3rd quarter Steve Francis and Grant Hill stretched the lead to 31 points, the largest lead of the night. Marbury and the Knicks were playing desperate basketball, sprinting up court and putting up quick shots, desperate for a run to get them back in the game. Instead their tactic backfired, and they fell further and further down the hole. Orlando didn't do anything special except for getting offensive rebounds and putting them back. Noone boxed out for New York on the inside and heading towards the 4th the game was pretty much over, the score 76-54.

With more stagnant offense by the starters in the final quarter, Herb Williams took a timeout with 5:15 left in the game and replaced his entire lineup with bench players. Jerome Williams, Maurice Taylor, Tim Thomas, Penny Hardaway, and Earl Boykins came in to finish the already horrendous performance. By the end of the torture the Knicks were down 31, 97-66.

A weak performance by New York outdid the strong performance by Orlando tonight. Steve Francis notched 15 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, while only shooting 5/22 from the field. Grant Hill had 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists of his own. For the Knicks the deadly duo did nothing tonight. Marbury and Melo combined for 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 10 assists. Kurt Thomas was the only Knick with a strong game, putting up 12 points (lead the team) and 17 boards. It took him 17 shots (5/17) to get 12 points however, which exemplified New York's struggles tonight.

This loss smacked another giant L on the Win/Loss column for the Knicks. Their record worsens to 5-10, and their losing streak extends to 4. Their next game is against the Charlotte Bobcats at home, so we should (hopefully) see a victory. Keep your options open however. No team is more beatable then the Knicks at the moment, having suffered a loss to the Hawks just days earlier. The players and coaching staff should use this game tomorrow as a road that will guide them back to the winning side. May luck be with them.

hey tell george karl that! its his fault! in the few games ive had boykins hes scored in double digits twice which isnt bad for the team that i have... its in denver that he didnt get any shots off or anything

i giv him 15 minutes a night, in 8 min quarters. its funny to play wit him he looks like a mouse he reaches up to other pg's stomach and he can run circles around everyone. when he hits a layup its like watching a 6 year old taking his first shot at a full sized hoop. he puts all his force under it and it skyrockets 10 feet straight up into the air

P.S.-this is random but i luv playing with jerome williams. i only play him 2 mins a game wen up or DOWN (thats more normal) big... but wenever he scores the knicks announcer (in the stadium) goes "jerrrrOOOOOOOOOOOme williams!!!!" and his voice goes higher on the O's. its cool its as if hes a fan favorite, which does fit him on the real knicks team (hes the most energetic and involved bench player ive ever seen)

Whateva anyway this game was so close in the 1st half. In the 2nd it got even closer. In the locker room Jerome got us all pumped up, he was running up and down and jumping onto the lockers... it was pretty good. His point was that when your on the court leave it all on the court, don't EVER give less then all you got. The point got through and we dominated that sorry ass club in the 2nd half. I played pretty good too . I'm starting to feel it's my team now... at least on the scoring end. Let's keep it that way."

2nd Half Surge

The New York Knicks entered Madison Square Garden 5 hours before game time just to find out that the lighting was all pink throughout the stadium. Some reports suggested that a group of high schoolers had fiddled around with the lighting controls. Other possibilites are believed to be that Jamal Crawford came back to haunt Madison Square Garden because of the trade that sent him packing a week ago. Whatever happened we will never know, but that story is probably more interesting then the game itself. After a quick flight on their private jet, the Knicks arrived in Charlotte 5 minutes prior to game time. It didn't seem to bother them.

To start the 1st quarter New York walked all over the expansion Bobcats. Carmelo slammed it home on the 1st two plays of the quarter and put the Knicks up 4-0. He would later go to the bench with 3 minutes left with 8 points. Overall the Knicks came in with a clear game plan. Kurt Thomas and Mike Sweetney came up to set the high pick & roll numerous times, giving Marbury 4 assists. New York actually grabbed an 11 point lead at 17-6 but the bench came in and sucked it up. A couple Kareem Rush 3's later the score was 22-20 for New York, and the score remained that way heading towards the 2nd quarter. In the next period the starters came back rejuvenated and replinished, and along came their game. Trevor Ariza had 3 consecutive steals for 6 fast break points, showing why he deserves the starting SG spot. After the 1/7 3 point shooting from the Knicks in the 1st quarter, Herb Williams told his players to take it easy on the outside shooting. As a result the Knicks only took 1 3 the entire 2nd quarter, which came at the buzzer. That shot was knocked down by the MeloMan, who gave New York a 42-41 lead at the half. The Knicks played great basketball in the quarter but Charlotte kept hitting crazy 3's at the shot clock buzzers to keep them in it. The players of the half were Stephon Marbury (13 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists), and Emeka Okafor (8 points, 6 rebounds, 0 assists).

Shouts were heard inside the Knicks locker room at the half, believed to be coming from Jerome Williams. Moments later the entire team literally knocked the locker room door down and came rushing out onto the court yelling "ooeeooeeooeeooeeooee!" Jerome Williams was later fined $7,000 for the damages.

Perhaps the money was well worth it, because they came out with more energy and determination. As a team they shot 75% (12/16) in the quarter, and 4/5 from downtown. The difference maker in the quarter was Earl Boykins coming off the bench as the energizer. His tenacity and hard work on the defensive end gave his team the ability to run on the break. As a result Marbury moved to the 2 letting Boykins play the 1. The strategy worked well, getting Marbury more open looks which in turn gave Anthony open looks as well. The Knicks outscored Charlotte 29-18 in the quarter and were up 71-59 at the end of 3. Marbury and Anthony had 20 and 23 points, respectively, at the end of 3. The 4th quarter was more of the same. The 2 headed monster of Marbury and Anthony finished it off, letting the bench to get valuable garbage minutes. With 4 minutes to go in the game Jerome Williams, Maurice Taylor, Tim Thomas, Penny Hardaway, and Earl Boykins subsituted in for the starters.

Overall the Knicks won the 2nd half by a convincing 54-32 score. Stephon Marbury notched 24 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists, while Carmelo earned POG honors with 32 points, 2 rebounds, and 6 assists. For Charlotte noone scored more then 14, and that was Okafor. He also recorded 8 rebounds and shot 7/8 from the field. There was no specific reason that New York blew them out; it was really an all around effort in the 2nd half. The Knicks outrebounded Charlotte 32:23, out-assisted them 21:10, out-stealed them 11:8, out-shot them 59% to 48%, and hit 13 more FT's. The only stat that Charlotte dominated was blocks, 8:0. The win breaks New York's four game losing streak and gives them a 6-10 record as they fight to get back to .500.

New York Knicks GM Isiah Thomas announced today that the possibility of trading Carmelo Anthony is very realistic. In the last 2 games New York got beaten by a combined 45 points, including a 15 point loss to New Orleans. Carmelo Anthony was aquired via trade from Denver just a little over a week ago. After playing 7 games with him New York is 3-4. Isiah Thomas said he had other ideas when he was brought over.

"At the time we needed a dominant scorer, someone who could give us energy and put points on the board. Jamal was doing that but it cost our team. I expected Carmelo to come in, do the same thing, but at the same time make the teammates around him better. That didn't go according to plan."

The trade rumors started after the Knicks 6th win of the season against Charlotte. After the game Anthony spoke out about where he places himself on the team. "I'm starting to feel it's my team now... at least on the scoring end. Let's keep it that way." Those words upset Thomas as well as coach Herb Williams. The last thing a struggling team in the east needs is an ego-maniac 2nd year forward. I mean New York already has 1 head-case too many, that being the best point guard in the NBA. Along with the emotional issues, Anthony is being shopped around because Trevor Ariza displayed his discomfort starting at the SG spot. And it seems as though the defensive rookie SF might just outweigh the offensive 2nd year SF.

The Knicks are looking for spot up shooting guards who can hit the 3. Currently Allan Houston is the only 3 point shooter on the team, and he's on the injured list for an indefinite amount of time. Some players that the Knicks are interested in are Michael Redd, Stephen Jackson, and Joe Johnson. That's all the Knicks organization was willing to tell us, so we'll update the situation as soon as possible.
