another great reply from bullsfan009 and to you to mr.cyanide.

well when soembody claims he is a good man then he surely is fooling his own ass. he can't know himself but others will. thats for sure. you can't just look at the mirror and say to yourself wow i'm very honest all my life!. people will be your mirror. what i'm doing in this thread is helping poeple to realize that their concept of God and the Words of God and Jesus can sometimes be wrong or misleading. i mean poeple may know that they should do this and that but then never take a time to uncover why am i really doing this? is it peer pressure? is it because my folks wanted to? is it because my religion tells me so? is it that preist i attended last sunday and his sermon? i'm leaving you the correct passages and the very source of the christian faith(the bible). without stealing a single word or making one up. i mean if we are gonna based our faith in the bible or the teachings of Jesus why do we need an interpreter for? that interpreter might even mis interpret it or lead us to our very doom.why not ask ourselves within what we really feel about certain issues and what does it has to do with our lives here on earth. for this time sake let us free our own selves by this pressures. to jona---------i agree to you at some point but to me my God is perfect in goodness and righteousness although He fails in terms of evil, all because my God is a God of Justice/righteuosness and goodness. but that doesn't mean that makes Him not that perfect......
8-)

and to the guy who keep asking a million questions mr .SO
when you said you were thrilled to know the future, you really think i will tell you and the rest of the forum guys what a bleak future we are gonna have?nope if its for the thrill only and not for the common good or for the truth then i will deny your request but i will leave you things to ponder about for the moment :o

MATTHEW 24:4-8
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
All these are the beginning of sorrows. :shock:

To YOU God is perfect, but have you thought that maybe to other people, he might NOT be perfect.
And that breaks the entire concept of perfection.
So, I stand my ground, and still think perfection is impossible. :D

Jona2112 wrote:Perfection does not exist. 8-)

Right. And what we do instead, is to make the best of it. If there was perfection, life ceases to exist because there would be nothing left to achieve or to strive for. For instance, there's no such thing as a perfect relationship. If one can achieve perfection, there would never be arguments, and without arguments, the relationship won't be able to grow, or to learn from each other.

Thu Mar 03, 2005 1:19 pm

perfection doesn't exist here on our world.........that would be the appropriate thing to say 8-) (Y) (Y) (Y)

Agreed. That makes sense :)

actually i only wanna know what the book of Revelation is about..
plsss

It's a letter written to several communities warning them about the destruction of mankind through the Roman empire (Nero), by using a metaphorical narrative to disguise literal meanings with symbols. Too bad John of Patmos guessed wrong about the second coming of Christ during the Roman Empire.

Thu Mar 03, 2005 2:35 pm

who is john of patmos?

1 timothy4:1-3
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

Ultimately, that's (getting to heaven) the goal of life, as in an enpoint that you can reach for, but as far as the meaning of life, I believe that we won't find that out until we achieve that goal first.

John of Patmos is the author of Revelations. He has often been confused with John of the gospels.

Well, heaven is a concept that nobody has been able to prove (its existence). Baptism is a sacrament, and according to Roman Catholic rules, you need to be baptised before you can go to heaven, which I think is ridiculous.

But believing in God and doing good things is a wonderful way to bring meaning to your life. You can enrich your life by learning new things, experiencing new things, and discover love.

life=living everyday

i dont have to sugar coat it. but if you live your life like a low end scum adn you start complaining "why the hell i end up like this shit!" then you ain't living your life to the fullest.
let me just say some poeple end up with a good partner in life,raise good kids,saw the sunshine, have grandchildren, visits the ederly folks,eating chocolates,gets tap in the back for a good days deed and all those things that makes you feel good and sigh what a great life. now that's the real living for me 8-) (Y)

Fri Mar 04, 2005 1:39 pm

come on...
those life still won't satisfy you...
money is essential for living.. but you don't need to live on it heavlily..
so does knowledge.. even knowin alot of bible knowledge it still..made u feel dead.. cuz u're livin in the principle of the tree of knowledge of good n evil..

i thought living a life of hell.. might not be too bad..
it's a taste of what the world is..
it's beautiful in appearance.. but behind the mask is an ugly face..

john of patmos.. heh.. now i realised...
the apostle John.. writin Rev. on the isle of Patmos..
no wonder it sound weird to me.. lol

Fri Mar 04, 2005 4:18 pm

The opposite is quite true too. The world is ugly in appearance, but behind the mask is a beautiful face.

The world is ugly in appearance, but behind the mask is a beautiful face.

everything is really for you to discover....your own interpretation of life. of course you can never be fully happy. if you did you wont have the basis of happy and sad anymore.
actually the promise of everlasting happiness will surely happen soon. if you really believe it. remember God is the God who cannot lie. so when He said that there will be eternal happiness.......there will be eternal happiness in the end :mrgreen: (Y)

Fri Mar 04, 2005 5:09 pm

this thread is gonna end up being a longer read than the Bible itself :miserable:

Fri Mar 04, 2005 5:43 pm

this thread is gonna end up being a longer read than the Bible it
