VAN GUNDY PLANS TO MIX UP STARTING LINEUP
DETROIT, Nov. 17 Heat coach
Stan Van Gundy said today during practice that he is considering changing the starting lineup for tomorrow’s game against the Pistons. Van Gundy added that he will be tinkering with the starting line-up to get better production from the starting guards and forwards. “I want the guards to produce a little more, I think
Dwyane Wade is carrying too much of the offensive load and hopefully the change will help us off the bench. We are 5-5 and I think now is a better time than ever to make a change because it is still early in the season.”
The expected change is moving back-up point guard
Damon Jones to the starting lineup and moving Wade to shooting guard.
Eddie Jones who has struggled with his offense will start at small forward. This moves
Rasual Butler to the bench because of his inconsistency and weak defense.
The Heat will put these changes to the test against the defending world champs Detroit Pistons tomorrow who the Heat already lost to once, 79-70 on Nov. 8
