Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

I was about to start the 3rd quarter & forget to put my starting lineup back in, but I didn't call a time out. I paused the game made my substitution & when I got fouled after the first free throw they made the substitution?

haha exactly what i was thinking.
you can pause anytime this year (in 2005) and do a substiution, it will sub in the players at the soonest possible point, in case that's what you were asking.

so what with the question mark....

It's funny how people can bring up the ? mark so much when I'm using it as correct grammar. I ended the sentence with the question mark because there is no reason to use a exclamation mark to show strong feelings such as surprise or amazement.

Why not a period then? You could use the same reasons for using that.
What it looks like you are saying is you see something wrong with making substitutions after the first free throw of a penality situation. If anything the problem is with substitutions after a second made free throw. AFAIK if the last free throw is made the ball is in play and no subs can occur.

i always thought "question mark" is reserved for questions and those with bad grammer use question marks for sentences stating otherwise.
strong feelings such as surprise or amazement warrant the use of an exclamation mark. Why would it not? If you did NOT have strong feelings of suprise or amazement, like Pylon Man said, the period is more than enough to simply express a "statement".
And yes the substitution after the 1st free throw is normal; however, the substitution after the last given free throw is not even though the video game does allow it.

idiot
the subs are supposed to come in after the first freethrow.... not the second like in previous lives...
Cloudy
but if a person reaches a foul limit and the coach wants him out...for example: 2 fouls in 1 qtr... then when the opponent goes to the freethrow... the player won't be subbed after the first.... it'll be the second unless we changed it ourselves....
Ben
What's wrong with that? It's a dead ball situation.
DEA
There's nothing wrong with that & you know they never sub after the first free throw it's always the second.

no, in real life the players wait by the scorer's table and when the first freethrow is thrown they get subbed in.....
it was only in previous years' live(e.g. a video game) that subbed in players after both freethrows
Thu Dec 30, 2004 11:53 am
im pretty sure the subs are only allowed during dead ball situations... the last free throw missed or made is no longer dead ball situation.... the only way a sub can come in after the last free throw is if the team calls a time out or some delay of game occurs and the refs have to call time and create a dead ball situation... in which a sub can then come on....
the video game is wrong since i think 2004 when it was allowing subs to come in after the last free throw...
should really watch a NBA game to see how it works...

After I explain this lock this topic, In the
NBA they sub after the first free throw on 2005 & past
NBA Live Video Games they don't. Read the first post & do what I did on your game to fully understand what I stated in the topic. Damn I see why I don't usually post here on this site

okay... um what was the point of this thread. I read the first post and you said nothing about "past NBA Live Video Games". Nobody knows why you posted this thread and you never really explained its purpose.
you could have said
"I was about to start the 3rd quarter & forget to put my starting lineup back in, but I didn't call a time out. I paused the game made my substitution & when I got fouled after the first free throw they made the substitution. I like how I am able to do this unlike previous versions of Live." (notice the exclusion of the question mark). This way your post has a purpose which is to tell us your approval of the new additions/fix to the game.
maybe the reason why you dont like posting on this site is because you're thread was very ambiguous and had no purpose which in turn confuses others on the site as to what you mean.
this should definitely be locked...
ps. Yesterday I walked into a room and sat in a chair? <--- thats my statement not a question

DEA, I can appreciate your point of view but to be honest, the other people in this thread were not being rude - your use of the question mark at the end of a statement is confusing.
Since there's no real discussion taking place here and it seems to be causing ill feeling, I will lock the thread as suggested.
