Crossover.

Sat Dec 25, 2004 3:25 am

how do you do a crossover in the xbox?

Sat Dec 25, 2004 3:25 am

WIth the right joystick move it from the left to right back to left. Visa versa, I am pretty sure.

Sat Dec 25, 2004 3:31 am

i doenst do it?

Sat Dec 25, 2004 3:32 am

It should...

Sat Dec 25, 2004 3:33 am

As many times as I have done it, it works. You gotta do it one motion though.

Sat Dec 25, 2004 3:37 am

what do you mean?

Sat Dec 25, 2004 3:44 am

Hes saying it should work when you move the right analog.... Check controls.

Sat Dec 25, 2004 3:54 am

Oh... you mean that..... I assume the freestyle control for the X-Box is similiar to the PS2:

Move the right joystick to the right (if your player is dribbling the ball with his right hand)
While he is doing that, move the left joystick towards between the direction of the basket and his left hand side while holding the turbo button
And when he does that sick move, simply drive as usual to the basket for an even sicker dunk (if you don't get rejected  )

And vice versa if you start with the left hand dribble.

Am I right?

Sat Dec 25, 2004 4:26 am

you lost me when you said this:
move the left joystick towards between the direction of the basket and his left hand side while holding the turbo button

I dont get that?

Sat Dec 25, 2004 4:28 am

hes saying after the first crossover move use the left analog stick while holding the turbo towards the goal. Thats all hes saying.

Sat Dec 25, 2004 4:43 am

i dont know but i cant seem to do it. i moved the right alanog stick to the roght and then to the left and back to right and all it does is dribble under his legs?

Sat Dec 25, 2004 5:04 am

Move the right analog stick to the left and then while it's at the left press left AGAIN to bring it out and then right.

So left, left again and then quickly right.

Sat Dec 25, 2004 6:22 am

It depends on which hand your player is dribbling with. If he's dribbling with the right hand, move the right analog stick to the right (and vice versa)

Now he's making the first move. BUT from here you have two choices.

You can continue going right by moving the left analog stick to the basket WHILE tilting it a bit to the right

Alright, let's say the direction of the basket from your player is UP (in other words, move your left analog to the UPPER RIGHT)

The other choice is to fake right and go left. Move the left analog stick to the direction of the basket WHILE tilting it a bit to the left. (in other words, move your left analog to the UPPER LEFT)

And then drive to the basket as usual.

Phew... I'm not really good at explaing things but this is the best I could.

Summary:
Step 1. right analog - [>]
Step 2. left analog - [^] + [<] (assume the direction of the basket is [^])
Step 3. drive as usual

i still cant get it?????????????

Sat Dec 25, 2004 12:01 pm

It's easy, just keep trying. You're making it harder than it really is.

Mon Dec 27, 2004 3:05 pm

been trying to do it...............(sighs) and i still cant. :( .
i just need to know how fast do i move the analog stick?

Tue Dec 28, 2004 1:44 am

Here's a tip:
Just try every direction (up,down, left, right) and rotate the analog e.g rotate the right analog stick 45 degrees clockwise/anticlockwise.

After you make a crossover dribble, don't just stop there, link it with more variety of crossovers. Crossovers are like combos. A very simple crossover dribbling drill is to move the right analog stick to the left, right, left, and so on. Continue doing this without stopping.

If you want to do a behind-the-back dribble, if he's dribbling with his right hand, move the right analog stick to the left and rotate it 45 degrees until 6 o'clock (counterclockwise).

And note for newbies who don't even have the slightest idea:
If you want to make a crossover, move the right analog to a direction and then release it. You don't hold it in that position  .

Unless there's something wrong with your controller/configurations, it does work.
