I have 1.3Ghz and 64MB GForce2, and i has very bad graphics until i found in a forum that you actualy need an older graphics card driver to sun the new games!! Sounds insane, but its true.

Mon Nov 29, 2004 8:09 pm

I have a Geforce2 Ti 64 MB.
¿What option have you turned on? ¿Anisiotropic? ¿Antialising?

i'm really interested but hesitant to try this witout screens, and an assurance that this is not a virus/spyware/cow terds/etc. "the guru of 3d" doesn't sound very trustworthy.
maybe i'll try since he knows about upgrading video card performance but not taking a screenshot...even if he did, he already has the new (er...old) one installed so he can't take a before.
btw- press print screen button in game and then open paint and 'paste' is the quickest way.

I actually knew of this a long time ago and thought everyone knew. But to clarify this issue for some of you people, certain drivers work better with your video card and that means not all new video card drivers are better than your old ones. You For NBA Live 2004, I tried several and found and older one giving me faster FPS. Therefore, use FRAPS with a few of the drivers to see which is the best for you.
Oh yea, that guru site is pretty good. I got to it all the time for drivers and you don't have to worry about spyware or anything.

i have geforce2 64mb. nba live 2005 lags too much, even with the lowest settings, with the default driver included with geforce. i downloaded the newest version of the patch 61.77 i think. it works better than the default but still with lowest settings.
will the 56.72 version make it faster? can i increase my settings to at least medium?

my intergrated graphics on my laptop work pretty well for this game. I can play it on not the higest setting but one which looks relatively good for me! and it runs pretty smoothly! i am happy!

i dont know about this, i have a new card, but i have trusted guru3d for years for my drivers
Tue Nov 30, 2004 7:34 pm
yeah, guru3D recommends omegacorner.com ; I used this site to solve my graphics card problem and it worked perfectly. you can at last trust omegacorner.com

Try Photobucket or something else.
Yeah, I won't try it before I see screens...

How can it be possible that older graphics cards run new games better???
... anyway.. I need to upgrade my graphics card anyway..cos the fan stopped working

If you guys don't trust Guru3d, you don't know whats good for you. I have gotten video drivers from them for years... its a great site. I'm not positive the game will run better on older cards for say, but if you run older drivers on an older card it will usually perform better, probably because newer drivers are centered for newer cards and such or something like that.

It's not. It's that older drivers work better than newer drivers on older gfx cards.

What about my gforce 4 card? Is there any superdriver for that one as well?
Fri Dec 03, 2004 3:30 pm
hmm.. but if you use those so called "superdrivers" on your graphics card, wouldn't it overload quicker than usual?
Sun Dec 05, 2004 9:41 pm
Thanks for pointing that out allamerican08.
I have a Geforce 4 MX 440... and my game runs like absolute shit... even with the lowest of settings, it's so jolty. This is mainly due to my piece of shit computer... but do you think it would be beneficial for me to get an older driver? (or whatever this site offers)
Sun Dec 05, 2004 10:05 pm
The newest drivers are mostly made for the newest cards, now 6800/GT/Ultra etc.. so yes older drivers might work better for you..
For notebook users (me too

): drivers at the site of nVidia don't work on your notebook! Notebooks have other drivers.. check out this site:
www.laptopvideo2go.com to get the right notebook drivers!

i have a nVidia GeForce 2 MX/400 card and my game began to freeze randomly! I d/l'ed all the drivers and did all the things the readme.txt says etc. I figured it must be the card so I went out and spent $280 on a ATI Radeon 9600. I whacked it in and to my dismay the same probs occurring.

After alot of pain and trying stuff I finally realised that it was actually an
overheating problem that was happenning in my pc.

Not sure which component was 'tripping' out or whatever but it ONLY happenned while playing Live '05. So now when it gets hot I run with the sides taken off my box and try and get some wind flow across the box - I am getting A/C soon which will help a ton, (not for the game perse' but cos this summer is gonna be warm

) I guess the good thing is now I have a better card I can play some of the higher end games which my old Geforce 2 couldnt run

Hey, I have the same problem with my GEForce 2 as well.... it would just freeze after playing a game or watching a movie for a while, the sound would just repeat itself. It turned out the fan was screwed up and it overheated
