i am after some hints on the big mans game. I am using the Knicks!! (not a fun dynasty as there is no player movement possibilities with the cap etc) i know my big men arent the best in the comp but i am struggling with the low and high post games.
I either get blocked every shot or the defence streals the ball when i try to pro hop.
Help me!!
Live 2005 is a different game than the previous ones. If your squad has not-so-good big men, then they arent very good to use. Put the pressure on your rocking PG, or experienced SG shooters. Ive enjoyed playing with different teams, because different position players, if good, CAN be used to their skill level. Having a good C, like Zo I signed as Bobcats, gave me the option to manage top all star position as centre, beating Shaq to it. He was just so useful, also being the top player in my team. Having Okafor at the side, they managed quite a force down below.
But without big-number centres, or havign just one of those no-strenght ones, they are better for defence and rebounding. As an example, I signed Harrington from FA in my second season, and have him in as a big man for rebounds and defence. He cant pro hop or do any of those neat things Okafor and Mourning can pull off, but he can grab rebounds, and has a good shot when open. Dont shoot with good forward shooters unless they have open shot (well PF or C anyway, unless they use a hook which is pretty effective). Also, OREB are quite effective in Live 2005, big men can cause rumble there.
But your situation is packed with great guards so use them. Try to force opposition down below, making them think you try to do something up close and personal, letting your guards run lines on 3pt line, quick pass to them, perhaps a fake, few steps forward or back, a fake and MJ jumper. Beautiful.
Animations rock in the game, open mid-range jumper with helpless defenders seeing their mistake... Swishhhhh
The ONE moment in the game to live and play for...
