[Tool] RED Modding Center (Current v. 5.0)

There are tutorials included that explain all of the different fields in the save files.

Hi, complete beginner here, when I open RedMC and try to load my NBA 2K14 mycareer savefile, nothing shows up that I can open in the list.
It just shows it as if the Saves folder is empty, but the .cmg shows up like normal out of Red MC. What do I do?

So, I'm still having issues running RED MC on Windows 11.

I have added both the 'Editing Tools' folder and the 'Red MC' executable to the exclusion list of Windows Defender, but when I try to run the program nothing happens (no window opens, no process is run...nothing).

Has anybody figured out how to run Red MC on Windows 11?

I manage to download and install RED MC properly without any issues, however I cant seem to run the application. I've tried almost everything under the sun. Its not the antivirus, I've added the folder + exe to the exclusion list, I've updated my windows and drivers. tried all the compatibility options and also running it with admin privileges. When I start the app it doesnt even run at all, nor does it appear in task manager and I also checked event logs and there is no sign of it running nor crashing/ encounting errors. PLEASE HELP!

When I try to run Red Mc its doesn't open, before it use to open but now it does not and I even turned off the anti viral on my computer. I use windows 11and it use to work fine is there any way to fix? Need help asap plz.

Having that issue too, hoping someone knows a workaround by chance. Thought it may have been an anti virus nuking my folder, but for a couple months it was working no issue up until trying to work on a roster again.

worked for me, uninstalled 2 recent updates, restarted, and now it works

Please, note, that files, edited with RED MC, are guaranteed to work correctly with RED MC and original games only. It is not guaranteed, that the files will work correctly with any other 3rd party software.

"Hidden" Hot Keys: Ctrl+Tab switches between tabs in the current file; Ctrl+Shift+Tab switches between opened files; Ctrl+Double Click on the cell activates Dynamic Linkages, if it's applied to the cell (the cell represents a color or links to another tab); Ctrl+Click on the fixed(grayed uneditable) row/column selects the whole row/column; Double Click on an item in Column Filter list to get to the beginning of the category; Ctrl + Shift + F opens Create Filter... dialog.

RED MC is not working after I installed the latest update on windows 11 yesterday, Nov. 19 2024....

It does sound like a Windows 11 issue, as it's still working fine for me under Windows 10. I'd recommend giving the solution Rodzilla91 posted above a try.

Yeah, by the way, the updates may not share the same name as the ones you have, but I went through and checked the most recent ones, they were around week or two ago for me.. so as far as I can tell it seems like a security update is breaking the tool.

Has anyone been able to figure out why RedMC wont open? I've added the RedMc and tools folder to the exclusions list, disabled antivirus, uninstalled and reinstalled several times. Simply wont' open. Any help is appreciated.

The tool is now completely free, with all of the features unlocked.

I was using it perfectly fine and now if I use it any time it opens a million windows of file manager. I don't know what changed.

Are you on Windows 11? That seems to be the root of a lot of issues at the moment, in particular its security updates.

Same thing, I already tried everything. Here's exactly what I did:

✅ I extracted RED MC properly to a clean folder (on C:\Mods and Desktop too).

✅ I ran it as Administrator multiple times.

✅ I disabled my antivirus completely and added both the folder and .exe to the exclusion list.

✅ I installed and confirmed .NET Framework 3.5 is active (checked in Windows Features).

✅ I tried running it in compatibility mode (Win 7, XP SP3, etc).

❌ It doesn’t run at all. No error. No process in Task Manager. Nothing in Event Viewer.

✅ I tested other versions (community RED MC, NLSC version, Mod Tool).

❌ Still, nothing opens — the program is silently blocked or fails to execute.

So yeah, I'm not just "forgetting to extract it" or "ignoring antivirus".
That's why I'm now using a Virtual Machine with Windows 7 where it works 100%. (I THINK!)
