How do I add a portrait to a created player?

Sat Nov 06, 2004 8:18 am

I have created Matt Bonner and Pape Sow for the Raptors, and I know that they have portraits in the pyrprts.viv file. I extracted the .big files, but I don't know how to add them to the players in the game. Any help would be appreciated.

In time, people just started getting the game about a week or so ago. I say by December--you're going to see vast improvements graphically. We just need the tools. Hopefully Brien will make one last go with EA Graph.

I read that you have to edit the .ebo file in a hex editor that is included in the players portrait .big file. This file tells the game who the image belongs to otherwise it just uses the blank portrait file. I haven't tried it yet but that is what I read. I will try this myself when I get home

Today I extracted all the files from the .big archive, renamed all the files to my PLYRPKG and replaced the portrait with my own pic. Then I added the all into a new .big archive with the right filename and I imported it into the right .viv file but the game crashed...
I don't really know how to do it further than I already did, so please try to find out LBM and then please try to be patient enough to explain it to guys like me...

Find the .ebo extract it and open it with FXEDIT
Scroll to the bottom and you will find for instance (MAGINOB1)or the player that you just opened
Edit the String with your name and let the last "1" like is
Save and import the file
Thats what I do with the shoes pictures and I replace the Jordan picture and it works good

Please make a backup just in case

I have successfully put a portrait into the game for a created player, and I will be releasing a package of the missing players soon.

To cklitsie, I think the problem you had has to do with building your viv file in bigGui. After your four files are imported, you have to click rebuild at least twice, sometimes three times, until the values in the 'Offset' column stop changing. Try this and then import it into the plyrprts file.

Is it possible to give a portrait to my created player without making a Cyberface for him?

so the EBO file is just the portrait?
