REGGIE MILLER HAS 57 POINT TRIPLE DOUBLE IN WIN OVER PISTONS



Reggie Miller led the New York Knicks to their 13th win tonight.
The rookie shooting guard had a career high 57 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists (both career highs as well).
His rookie teammate Scottie Pippen also had a triple double, his third of the season.

The Knicks beat the Pistons 155-91. It's their biggest win of the season.
"We expected a tough game," said Miller. "So we gave it our all."
Miller ended the first half with 29 points and 9 assists.






"I'm very pleased with how we played," said Coach Don Nelson.
"I instructed the players to take smart shots. They certainly did that.
Everybody shot 50% or better. If we do that, we are very hard to beat."

CLEVELAND CAVALIERS GIVE KNICKS A CLOSE GAME



The Cleveland Cavaliers showed today to other teams that the Knicks are not invincable.
They did lose, but kept it close until late in the fourth quarter, trailing by just 2 points
with 4 minutes left in the game. The Knicks however, pulled away late and won their 14th
game in a row to start the season, 117-102.



"I thought we had a bad shooting game," said Coach Don Nelson.
"But looking at the stat sheet afterwards, I noticed we still almost shot 50%.
If that is a bad game for us we can for sure win a lot of games."



Reggie Miller scored 39 points and is now averaging 33.6 points per game, 2nd in the league
behind Golden State Warriors' Adrian Dantley. Chris Mullin had 27, Olajuwon 20 wih 29 rebounds
and 6 blocks, and Scottie Pippen 13 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for his 4th career triple double.

For the Cavaliers power forward Cliff Robinson had 35 points and 20 rebounds.
Johnny Moore had a career high and league leading 21 assists, and 7 steals.

Knicks tie record for best start in NBA history

The Knicks have tied the Washington Capitols' record from 1948 for the best start ever in NBA history, 15-0.
The Knicks beat the Hawks in their 15th game, 141-86.

Reggie Miller scored 57 points, which ties Richie Guerin's scoring record in a game by a Knicks player from 1958.
He had 13 threepoint baskets, which is second all time in NBA history behind his teammate Chris Mullin's record
from earlier this season. Hakeem Olajuwon had a triple double in the game, 24 points, 32 rebounds and 10 assists.

The Hawks started the game well, leading most of the first quarter which ended 24-22 in their favor.
The Knicks got hot in the second quarter and beyond and ran away with the lead.
