Cavs cruise to easy victory over Bucks

Most of the Cleveland Cavaliers were anticipating the All-Star break and a big rest(or big parties) in Denver next weekend but before they did that they had to travel on sunday to Milwaukee to take on the 13-19 Bucks. and judging by most of the performances by both teams players, they were ready for the break. the one person that did come to show up was LeBron James who will be busy with a few things this next weekend in denver(details on news page). James got off to a fast start scoring 10 points in the first quarter over helpless bucks defenders. Micheal Redd the leagues leading scorer had 9 of the 17 in the first for the bucks trying to keep them in the game. the second was more of the same but this time the cavs worked it inside with Gooden and Illgauskas who combined for 35 points in the game. Desmond Mason tried to keep the bucks in the game and provide help to redd but could not he scored 16 points on 28 shots. the bucks were held to a pathetic 15 points in the quarter and it wasnt going to get any prettier in the second half. during the second both teams were lethargic but that allowed LeBron James to find open teamates and grab a whole lot of boards. He finished the game with 26 points on 11-20 shooting 14 boards(season high) and 9 assists. one negative for the cavs was the loss of Robert traylor who injured his hand on a hard fould by joe smith early in the third. Traylor was the main backup at the power forward and center posession and is a paul silas favorite with his hard work and strength in the post. the bucks scored only 14 points in the 4th quarter and the final score was 86-66. LeBron James had this to say about his near triple double: "nobody told me that i only needed 1 assist there was like 2 miutes left in the game and i had no idea i would have been lookin for an alley oop or something if i knew that i mean 14 boards and 10 assists thats a good game, 9 assists, that hurts a little bit. James was also asked about his all star weekend. "im gonna be the busiest dude out there this weekend id like to win every competition at some point in my career but i gotta work on that 3 point shot. ill get some rest this week and be ready for it this weekend, i hope to bring home alot of hardware."

Ebi finds his way to cavs in a four player deal

In a surprise move the clevleland cavaliers have made a move in the waning days before the trade deadline sending dajuan wagner and ira newble to the minnesota timberwolves in exchange for Ndubi Ebi and Earvin Johnson. After the Cavaliers deal fell through for the darko milicic there was almost no trade news and coach paul silas said he was happy with the current roster. Cody Jones, the cavaliers gm had this to say: " Things were pretty much dead but Kevin Mchale came up to me and started talking about dajuan. he was interested in him playing some backup guard positions and being another scorer off the bench. one thing lead to another and we belive we have ourselves a good deal for the future while they were looking for now."
Indeed the cavs are looking towards the future Ebi is as raw as sushi but is extremely athletic and long. coach paul silas had this to say about playing time for ebi: "With Robert injured it frees up some pt downlow and maybe some small forward and possibly shooting guard for matchup reasons."
Along with ebi the cavs also recieved earvin johnson whos 5 million dollars come off the books when he becomes a free agent this summer. this was clearly a cap reason as newble had a four year deal. Time will tell if this trade was worth it.

o wow that was stupid of me! i guess i was in a hurry and wanted to get all of the pictures in and stuff before i went out for the night. the opener was the knicks game so i guess just switch those 2 games around. good catch but one that i should have seen myself.

Edit: well i switched the games around and tweaked the article a bit now everything is in order. kind of an embarassing way to start a dynasty

The Cleveland Cavaliers entered their game against the 76ers on a mission, after dropping their opener to the new look Knicks. from the get go they were all over the 76ers with zydrunas illgauskas getting the ball on consecutive possesions and scoring and then drew gooden receving and ally oop pass from jeff mcinnis to get off to a 6-0 start. lebron james then became involved in a big way scorin 12 straight points in the quarter and finishing with 18 total in the 1st quarter hitting mid range jumpers and monster dunks. It did not slow down in the second as luscious harris hit consecutive threes furthering the lead to 15. james was relentless scoring and ended with 28 at the half.the second half was much of the same as both teams went through the motions going basket for basket until the bench was put in early in the fourth. Lebron james was player of the game with 41 points 7 rebounds and 6 assists, he also recorded 4 blocks and 3 steals.

The game did not live up to the hype james was dominated by kobe

Kobe vs James did not live up to the hype last night as only one player stood out of the two. Bryant was aggressive from the start driving to the basket and getting to the line. James tried to find his touch all game but could not. and as james goes so do the cavs. drew gooden kept the cavs in the game hitting shots in the post over odom for three quarters. however in the fourth he missed 4 straight shots. james shot a paltry 9-26 and was unable to get anything going in the fourth as well. the backourt of jeff mcinnis and luscious harris were just as bad as james shooting a combined 2-11 for 4 points. mcinnis is struggling mightily and may be replaced by eric snow who has played consistantly. chucky atkins had a big game also he had a season high 24 points and put the game out of reach with consecutive threes in the fourth. LeBron James had this to say about the game: "We came in here tonight expecting to win and the fans came in here looking for a good matchup between me and kobe. he proved he was the better man tonight but we got em again this year and ill be ready.". Zydrunas Illgauskas complained after the game about his lack of touches and judging by his shooting percentage who can blame him." I would like to get the ball in the post more, i felt i had a good matchup tonight and i could have won this game for us, but i trust my teamates to come out next game and make the right decisons."

it looked good from that side but if you saw it from underneath the hoop his hands are not even touching the rim, i cant hate though if there was a way to make players grab the rim perfectly ea would have done it, it must be hard to do. besides dosent effect gameplay.

This has nothing to do with my dynasty but holy smokes did anyone see that cavs game! big z hitting the trey at the buzzer to force overtime! coming back from 19 down in the fourth after amare fouled out. then z has the balls to hit two 22 footers in ot! lebron scores 38,17 in the fourth. had to turn on the game cuz the bucks were stinkin the place up against the bobcats. even though they pulled it out. sorry just had to vent the excitment!

Solid win for us though lebron only had 11 points. at least he only shot 10 times recognizing he wasnt on unlike carmelo last night(if you didnt see the denver game he shot 3 for freakin 20 against the jazz) big z got the ball down in the post and lead the team in scoring like he can do from time to time. next game vs the nuggets and the afformentioned anthony

The big matchups dont stop for LeBron James in the early going this season as the cavs prepare to take on the nuggets at the pepsi center tonight. Carmelo and James both struggled in their matchups with eachother last season although the nuggets won both of those games. there was alot of pressure on both young men to lead their teams last season. " I like the competivness between me and melo but the week of the game the only thing that everyone can talk about is me vs him, i just want to get the w." in any case we havent seen bad blood between these two teams yet nor have we seen the cavs win a matchup and some say there cant be a rivalry unless they both beat eachother. in any case tonights game is a must see as the cavs try to return to 500..

With a dissapointing start to the season the cavs were looking to turn it around against the Denver Nuggets. a team they lost to twice last season. for 3 quarters the cavs kept with denver Jeff McInnis scored 14 points in the first half but was held scoreless the rest of the game. zydrunas illgauskas was held to 9 points as marcus camby made it his mission to shut down the inside presence of big z and drew gooden. In the fourth the nuggets came out strong, earl boykins lead the charge hitting on shots on 3 consecutive possessios and one of them with the shot clock running down to break the backs of the cavaliers. Lebron james played a solid game scoring 27 points and handing out 5 assists, but he could not keep the cavs in the game in the fourth. the individual matchup between anthony (who scored 12 points) and James was won by james but in the end it did not mean a vicotry for the cavs who have now lost 3 straight to the nuggets. James had this to say about the game " Its tough having these matchups everynight and not get caught up in it so to a certain extent, i feel we needed to win these games and when you have the letdowns its frustrating, we gotta pick it up."

Hey im having a little problem with LeBron James in my dynasty, and i was wondering if anyone else has had this playing with him. everyone else on my team seems to be able to shoot decently and hitting shots when they are open. Bron dosent seem to do this very well or at least recently he hasnt been able to hit many jumpers. he kinda gets that quick release thing when shooting even when i hold it as long as everyone else. i dont think hes out of his range i mean he can hit threes to an extent but this is happening on jumpers

The Cavs played good for three quarters once again but were outplayed in the fourth by the veteran backourt of sam cassell and latrell sprewell who scored 28 and 30 points apiece. one bright spot in the game was drew goodens play, he scored 23 points on 11-13 shooting while bringing down 15 rebounds. Kevin Garnett had an extremely quite night scoring only 8 points as gooden also did a good job on d. Lebron James scored 25 points but it took 25 shots to do it offsetting his effectivness. Aleksandar Pavlovic may be looking to take over the starting shooting guard spot after showing good touch for the first time all season, as luscious harris has not been the scorer they were looking for. He has also been terrible defending something pavlovic may not be able to help with either. paul silas had this to say about the game and season. " We have shown that we can play basketball with anyone but it has not been on a consistent level all season. were young but thers still no excuse for not finishing games well. we wont be playing in the postseason if we continue like this."

Pavlovic played a good game and could see more minutes
