Bring them back

Postby nicosantos76 on Sat Oct 30, 2004 12:25 am

Hi, I was reading people complaining about so many things in the game, I guess it's in our nature, we want this game to be "the game" so I don't find all this complaining unfair but a way of helping out EA on bringing the best possible game.
In such sense, everytime a new NBA Live comes out I found myself begging for the option CREATE A TEAM back in the game, and once and again I was dissapointed. Why did they take out this feature??? I remember, back in the 90s, editing and creating several national teams and international clubs, playing long gone Open Mc Donalds, now the game is more NBA than ever, better than ever in terms of gameplay, but I still miss this option.
I also miss the chance of saving the game during a match, is it so hard??? Now I found myself leaving the PC on while I am at College since I'm unable to turn it off cos I would lost my 34 minutes of played game.
Don't you miss this features???

I believe it's important as a community to be critical of the game so we can push EA to improve their products, but at the same time, I don't think they're listening to us as much as we would like. The years that I want to congratulate EA for is Live 95, Live 2000, and Live 2004. Since Live 2000 (I believe), we've been begging for the save in the game feature, but instead, they gave us an intervene per quarter feature (which is pretty cool, but we'd much prefer the former). I don't think implementing this saving in the game feature is any harder than creating a complete All-Star Weekend. Create a team is something that would go hand-in-hand with a create a player feature. Imagine creating your own team with your own created players (or fantasy draft of NBA players). That would really boost re-playability. I hope EA isn't going to ignore these features for the 6th straight year.

when i read this topic i thought this was gonna be a list of things that EA removed/changed and we wanted reverted. cause i have one that is pissing me off. maybe i am doing something wrong so let me know.

when i go to trade a player there is 2 things that bug me. 1 i cant see the length of a players contract in the trade screen(really annoying) and secondly when i try to compare players it only shows me stats, not rateings. this is just flat out stupid. i used to compare players all the time and make my choice based on all thier other stats, not the overall rating. alot of times i will take a lesser overall guy because of his other stats. for instance a pg who got a great overall but cant shoot vs a pointguard who is less overall but is lights out shooting the ball. i wish these 2 things would be fixed.

You can see ratings on trades - in the compare player screen, you can change from season stats to playoffs to ratings. On the XBox I think its the white button (after you've used the directional pad to get to that part of the screen), but of course because I'm trying to be helpful I can't quite remember.

I do wish they would show contract lengths as well as $ amounts. Having to go out to the main menu to the GM section and then go through all the teams is annoying.
