Opening Press Conference

Tue Oct 26, 2004 3:20 pm

Sacramento Bee -

After the Kings final pre-season game, head coach Rick Adelman held a press conference and it is included below;

Reporter: Coach, do you think the team has good chemistry?

Adelman: Well, it's hard to say up to this point. But I think most of the guys that have been here the past few years are gelling a little better with Webber back and healthy.

Reporter: Who do see as the key players in the up-comming season?

Adelman: Once again it's hard to say. But I think if Webber stays healthy he can power this team on offense and defense. I also think Bibby will play a key role in getting other players involved this year.

Reporter: How do feel about the two rookies? Martin and Takash?

Adelman: I picked up those two guys because I thought they'd fit well into our system, and they have. Atleast up to this point. But we'll find out once the season starts.

Reporter: Do you think defense will be a problem this year?

Adelman: I still think out defense is a little shaky. Jackson and Christie are our only two solid defenders, but Webber and Miller can step it up defensivly when needed. And I see potential in Songila.

Reporter: The team isn't looking as deep as it was in years past. With only one proven scorer comming off the bench in Jackson. How do you plan to deal with this?

Adelman: No, this team isn't as deep as our 02-03 team, or even last years team. But, Bobby can score 15 points off the bench a night. And if you watched Takash at all when he was at North Dakota these last two years, you'd know he can shoot.

Adelman seems confident in the team, but it will all be put to the test when the Kings play Dallas on opening night.

Looking good so far,

I'm not a big fan of Sacramento, but Kevin Martin is a nice player, how many minutes can we expect to see him play?

Plus who is Takash? Is he a created rookie cos i've never heard of him.

Good Luck dude

Wed Oct 27, 2004 5:34 am

I cant wait for this to start, because I am a Huge! fan of the Kings :D
My favorite player is Mike Bibby :P
Good luck with it (Y)

Wed Oct 27, 2004 7:25 am

Takash is my created rookie. Since I'm playing 5 minute quaters Martin will probably play 6-10 minutes a game.

Alright! Another Kings fan! I tend to use Bibby a lot.

Good, hopefully Bibby will get some good stats, he isnt the best player in the world, but he is very reliable (Y)

Game 1 V.S. Dallas

[Kings - Mavericks

1st Quater
Kings 14 - Mavericks 16

A close first quater, but definetly not the high scoring these two teams are capable of, but at the end of one we find the Mavericks ahead by a bucket. Through the first quater of play Jerry Stackhouse led all scorers with 7 points, and Erick Dampier had 3 blocks. The leading Kings scores were Stojakovic and Christie with 4 a piece. And Miller pulled down three boards.

Stackhouse takes it through traffic.

2nd Quateer
Kings 28 - Mavericks 30

Another close quater but with a 9 - 0 run at the end of the quater, the Mavericks pull ahead by two. In the 2nd we saw the debut of two rookies, Kevin Martin and Ben Takash. Martin came out of the half scoring one bucket and playing four minutes. Takash also played four minutes by had 4 points and an assist. And the end of the first half Jerry Stackhouse continued to lead all scorers with 11 points. And Webber maneged to grab 4 rebounds while only scoring 2 points. A key factor for the Mavericks was turnovers, Nowitzki alone had 4 while the whole team combined had 6.

Ben Takash scores his first career points in style.

3rd Quater
Kings 48 - Mavericks 41

Sacramento takes it's first lead in the third. Stojaovic stepped it up in the 3rd scoring 16 and pushing his total to 22. Bibby left the game early in the third after injuring his arm on a hard fould from Finley. The status report says he's out for the game but we'll the know the complete extent of his injury after the game. To end the quater Peja was fouled from behind the arc, made the shot, and completed a 4 point play.

Doug takes it up hard.

4th Quater
Kings 64 - Mavericks 55

The Kings held onto the lead they got in the fourth quater. Most of the points scored by Sacramento in the 4th were by free throws, Takash hit 4 to keep the lead. Stojakovi cooled down, but the rest of the team stepped up. Peja was also awarded Player of the Game and finished with 22 points and 2 rebounds. The injury report on Bibby is that he has a sprained thumb and is out for 5 weeks. This means that Bobby Jackson will have to start and Kevin Martin will play PG off the bench.

Of all people

Wed Oct 27, 2004 11:19 am

Wed Oct 27, 2004 11:32 am

I know! The little guy's got hops! :)

Wed Oct 27, 2004 2:00 pm

He's gettin' up there in the age category too isnt he?
But the hops are still there

What settings are you using, and I take it that you are using PS2 version with a digital camera?

Wed Oct 27, 2004 2:58 pm

By settings you mean sliders and all that?

I'm playing on the X Box and it's hooked up to my computer and I'm running through an ATI TV program so it's easy to take screen shots.

Thu Oct 28, 2004 8:06 am

Nah
I mean like:
How many minute quarters
Season Length EDIT: oops you already told me that
Do you play every game in the season?
Playoff Length
etc.

Thu Oct 28, 2004 3:25 pm

Dude, you are brave to stay honest. If I had my starting PG go down in the first game of a Dynasty, I'd strongly consider, ahem, replaying. :) Good man!

Fri Oct 29, 2004 9:44 am

I play 5 minute quaters, and every game in the season, the playoff lenght is 7-7-7-7.
Injurys are a part of the game, gotta play through it.

Fri Oct 29, 2004 10:50 am

Looking good so far. It's too bad that Bibby is out in your first game.

I only have one complaint, can you use regular sized font when you're typing game recaps. Not a big problem it just gets annoying having too scroll from side to side to read.

Keep up the good work though (Y)

That is usually how I play my games
But I have never posted a dynasty on here before
Lets hope Bibby has a quick recovery!

Sat Oct 30, 2004 10:07 am

I'll play a few games tonight.

Sat Oct 30, 2004 12:43 pm

Looks good, I see some very familiar elements...

What's with the font? It's nice that you don't use the normal old font but were not blind, hehe.
