Question about current gen NBA 2K21

I understand the game is more like a patched version of 2K20. We saw this coming.

Having said that, next time the game goes on sale, would it be worth it if I want to play with the latest rosters in MyLeague, Start Today, etc.?

Or are there serious flaws in gameplay that I need to consider?

I personally prefer NBA 2K20 to NBA 2K21. With that being said, there's obviously no new content coming through for NBA 2K20, whereas at some point, NBA 2K21 is going to get an official 2021 season roster update. If you can get it ridiculously cheap on sale then that would be the best opportunity to check it out, but even then, I'd consider the game a monumental disappointment.

Black Friday sales are coming up so I've seen it as low as $27 already

Honestly I wouldn't even pay that, but for anyone who's an eager collector - and I certainly understand how that goes - any discount is better than full price. Obviously that's always the case I suppose, but especially so this year.
