Hello guys, i'm willing to make an investment on a new game, but i want to know from you which game is the most fun to play? With better graphics and options as retro or alltime teams, sneakers, faces, courts, jerseys and gameplay... the whole package.
Hope you can give me a tip about it.

As far as the PC is concerned, your only options are NBA 2K17, NBA 2K18, and NBA 2K19, as they're the only ones still available through Steam. Of those, I'd be inclined to go with NBA 2K17 or NBA 2K19. Note that NBA 2K17 no longer has online support (so no updates will come through), nor does it have the All-Time teams.

Keep in mind that Steam allows you to return a game as long as you have not played it for more than 2 hours.
If I were you, I'd pick the one that looks the best to you, buy it, try it, and if you dont like it, return it through Steam.
Your best bet for a game with the most content right now is probably 2K19. My favorite gameplay is 2K17, but 2K19 isnt the worst.

Thanks And and Dee.
And yes, i'm talking about PC games.
I have 2K11, 2K12, 2K13 and 2K14, all of them are great games and maybe they create a paradigm in the world of retro seasons and teams as we almost have every single season in 2K13 and 2K14, BUT... i think we can't deny evolution and what i saw from 2K17, 2K18 and 2K19 were a complete breakdown on the gameplay in comparison with those old 2K games that i have, so i must choose a new one, imo.
I'll try your tip, Dee. I'll buy and test NBA 2K17 and 2K19, but there are a few questions that maybe you guys can answer to me, if you like to:
1) We have the All-time teams on those new games? Cause i saw Dee project in 2K17 and it's an excellent mod. Btw, Dee made 2 mods: the All-time mod and the retro squads too. These mods are compatible?
2) We can create new teams on both games?
3) Gameplay of 2K17 is really better then 2k19??? OMG!!!

Sorry for the amount of questions and doubts... the reason i'm asking is because i'd rather choose one of the two involved (2K17 or 2K19).
Thx in advance gentlemen.

Only NBA 2K18 and NBA 2K19 have All-Time teams by default. There's no in-game Create-a-Team function in any of them.

1) Dee's Mods are amazing! Full portraits, great CF's, etc. I'd use that if you wanted to play an "all-time teams" myleague for example. I just started one today with his new roster because I wanted to use the 2000 Pacers and 93 Suns. Two of my favorite teams.
2) Yes - easier on 2k19 because servers make roster sharing easier as well so more people are active there.
3) Ehhhh. NBA 2k17 is awesome. It isn't THAT much better than NBA 2k19, although some will nitpick it. NBA 2k19 is a pretty solid game too. I'd give NBA 2k17 a solid 9.5/10 and NBA 2k19 a solid 9.0. NBA 2k18 is like 5/10. That game Suuuuuucked.
As for more retro content than what you have mentioned:
1) NBA 2k17: also has this one done by Laroche and Ironknight. 95-96 season. I played their 1.0 version and enjoyed it. They have a 2.0 out now that is even better. Haven't played it yet but have it downloaded:
viewtopic.php?f=225&t=1074512) NBA 2k19: With help of community I put together a retro roster from the 91-92 season. It's very well done (and most others did that hard stuff; not me). Full rosters, retro courts, uniforms, etc. - just like all the above mentioned rosters. This also includes 92-96 draft classes you can download. We have someone that is making custom CF's now for guys that really need it. he is fantastic.
viewtopic.php?f=241&t=1062043) 1993 season is almost done now. 1994 will also be out soon I hope.
4) MauMau78 has some great stuff out too. He does great work as well!

Thx for the amazing feedback, Sir.
I'll follow your tips and buy 2K17 and 2K19.
Thank you very much guys!

Unpopular opinion but for me, 2K16 is the best game of this gen regarding graphics and gameplay (specially if you play with 1.0 exe).
Unfortunately, there's not a lot of big mods or retro rosters.
BTW i dont think you could still buy it

Yeah it's been removed from the Steam store. I imagine NBA 2K17 will be gone by the end of the year as well.

I dont understand this behaviour. Remove a game from Steam Store as if it had never existed, while a platform like GOG emerged because of abandonware
Mon Jul 01, 2019 8:40 pm
Well, they'd be selling a game that has a lot of online components and functionality, when the servers for the game have already been shut down. There are also players in the older games that are no longer included under the NBA license, so that might be an issue. If nothing else, the server shutdowns would be a major factor.
It's why I'm surprised that NBA 2K17 is still up, given the servers are not.

Yeah, you're righ, players licensing can be an issue ; i remember now that some games have been patched or removed from Steam related to licensed music ingame.
Stange thing i posted months ago, besides 2K17, 2K10 and 11 are still available on Steam too.
Mon Jul 01, 2019 10:21 pm
True, though you have to go through Google/a direct link to the store page, as it isn't normally accessible. Oddly it's just those two, though.
Mon Jul 01, 2019 10:27 pm
So going back to the topic, Old friend should buy 2K10 /11 and 17 as long as he can !
Great games, great mods, lot of FUN

I'd already have 2K11, but i dedicate my time to 2K12 and 2K14...
Now as you guys clear well enough to me - 2K16, 17 and 19 got almost everything a junk like me needs. NBA 2K13 also have great retro mods, but as the game evolvs it bacame almost impossible won't be surrended by the graphics and perfection of the newest ones.
Thx a lot for the responses guys.
I really appreciate.

2k11 is still king

And how about now? When we've got 2k20/2k21 out.
I've skipped a few years and the last one I played was 2k12 and then a bit of 2k17. No 18 nor 19.
And this year I got 2k20 during sale for 2 bucks.
Tried 2k21 and I couldn't see much difference. Probably due to short playing time.
But I do enjoy 2k20 and since we can edit the hell out of it, I'd bet on 20.

Same deal. I enjoyed NBA 2K19 and NBA 2K20, I'm not really feeling NBA 2K21 so far.

NBA 2K11
