U R B - WHERE SIM HAPPENS ! 2023 Roster Preview! 22ND February!

I have downloaded the last couple updates but the 1990 Suns home jerseys still have the orange lettering on the back. Just wondering when that will get updated to purple? Also wanted to check if there was any progress with the audio issues in the 1993 roster/season where announcers won't pronounce certain player's names (Dan Majerle, Karl Malone, maybe others)? Thanks again Sko and Slimm for all the work you do.

GAME REPORT

Thought i took some screenshots but something went wrong but i played a full game on SUPERSTAR level 48 min with DENVER against the SPURS using the V2 sliders.
I put all defense on tight both on and off ball like slimm told me before if i remember correctly.

Since i lost the SS of the game report i just have some things that i noticed from the stats and in the game:
the
1) the CPU doesnt shoot many 3 pointers when u guard them tight both on and off ball. The SPURS ended up with 10 attempts only !!!! and drove a lot. Now i know they are not a 3 pointing shooting team but even players like Belenneli didnt shoot 3´s.
2) it looks like the CPU always makes a comeback...i think i lost 112-111 or something. It might also be the fact that i played the whole game through at once and u get tired
3) . LAMARCUS ALDRIDGE almost didnt have attempts but most of all no iso in the post with his signature post fade away shots... he actually only had 3 attempts in total. This i also almost dont see with Durant.
4) Big man almost dont play inside out. Often when the CPU is in the paint or close to it their floor is not as spread as in real life i would say. This is especially true in transition. Nowadays like with the warriors you see KLAY go to the corners even in transition but it doesnt happen enough ingame. I can understand its not fixable
5) Manu G had some craaaaazy dunks against me....seemed a bit weird. Which is strange because he has 50 on dunks and 67 on vert
6) Is dunking or vertical a bit too extreme on the v2 sliders ?? I think so because i get sooo many crazy dunks


Some great things i noticed from the game that are more realistic in my opinion.

1) Jokic is so much fun to play with and really resembles the real player with his passing and nifty moves at the rim.
2) Isisah Tomas coming from the bench can makes some 3 pointers but he is so bad on D that i stopped bringing him in.
3) The Spurs are kind of slow which seems realistic. U can get them in transition with the Nuggets.


Overal gameplay is just great i think but u dont have to mention what u think can be fixed.

I haven't personally tried playing on SS but the user Eustachy has. Without tweaking them from the all star base, he says all star is better. The only problem we have with all star so far is user blocks are way higher than CPU blocks. I have made some tweaks to coaching profiles in the Elite roster and have tweaked a SS set of CPU vs CPU sliders that are pretty much giving me the results I want. If you are willing to test them for me, I'll send them to you.

I do wonder if u have any insight on the fact that players like Lamarcus A. and Kevin Durant dont perform enough of their post up fade away shots ? Did u notice that ? Or could that be because of my way of defense ?

Post shots are one aspect of game play that has always given me some difficulty. I understand the concept behind the tendencies section, but it seems like there are some AI issues that prevent post shots from being taken at times.

How do you play defense against them? Do you usually find them driving to the basket instead of shooting fadeaways or is it a different issue?

Maybe that is a reason that the players tend to drive more instead of shoot 3 pointers and spread the floor creating isolation opportunities in the post also. I even found that Pau Gasol was driving which he sucks at and Lamarcus Aldridge hardly getting any shots.

Personally i like to adjust tight guarding based on whom im playing. I would never play Derozan tight for example...

When I get back to my hotel room I'll email you the files and some different defensive settings. You are correct, playing tight on ball d on all players leads to the ai driving a lot more.

If you want to try something in the meantime, use tgese:

Sliders:

Help d at 0
Inside/close/mid shot tendencies at 100
3pt tendency at 55
Attack the basket at 50

Defensive settings:

Double team on drive for pg/sg/sf.
On ball moderate for pg/sg/sf and sag off for pf/c. All can be moderate if you want.
Off ball moderate for pg/sg/sf and sag off for pf/c.
Hard hedge pnr for all players.

We are keeping this alive because we still want to improve , but one of the reason is that next gen 2k15-2k18 is not good enough or should i say for casual users. We cant mod next gen because we dont have reditor, without this tool we cant make seasons rosters.

Yeah, the gameplay (other than 2K17) for this gen isn't up to par with 2K14 or 2K13 in my opinion. Sko and Slimm havn't really had incentive to move onto this gen even if a REDMC existed for the games.

I have no idea how to fix audio for Majerle and Malone in 93 roster.

maybe you guys will disagree but i don't think stephen jackson should be in charlotte hornets all stars... he played just two seasons in charlotte and only for the bobcats, not hornets... imo, he should be at golden state, indiana or san antonio.

Probably one would place S Jackson in the Warriors based on the number of games although the difference is not THAT big. He play 190 for the Warriors, 188 for the Pacers and 153 for the Hornets including the playoffs.

In San Antonio he hardly played so he doesnt belong in that team. The Hornets where not good enough in my opinion as a team and he clearly has fever games. So that leaves the Pacers and the Warriors. He probably had his best seasons with the Warriors (maybe the first one with the hornets was also great ) compared with the Indiana ones beeing a fringe all star player two seasons. I would ad him to the Warriors line up but then u have to sacrifice another player

i think also when fans think back to him they would have memories of the "we believe" team of the warriors in which he had a huge role

Hello-

I've been playing 2k18 for sometime now since it's release and stopped playing 2k14. I would say 2K18 is broken and frustrating. I can't believe how you miss when you are too close to the basket or missing free throws when everything was perfect in terms of release.

After trying out this mod again, along with the updates, I can't believe how fluid, alive, and more importantly how fun the game is. I am making a decision to play 2k14 for bball games moving forward and stop pretending 2k18 is a fun game.

Again, kudos to everyone (sko, slimm, maravich, etc.) who have kept this game alive and fun for all these years!

About this roster, a great addition would be NBA All Star Teams : US Olympic Teams (university players) used to play (and win ) against NBA All Stars.

Thank you for clearing that up for me. I re-downloaded the retro jerseys #2 and that fixed the 1990 Suns home jerseys. As for the audio issues in the 1993 roster/season is it possible to import players from other urb rosters(i.e. Dan Majerle from 1992 or 1994)? Could making a CAP and updating their CF id work? I also noticed Oliver Miller is referred to as #25 on the 1993 Suns. This is one of my favorite years to play in the URB and any help with this is appreciated. Thanks again for all the work that has been put into this.

is it correct in the 90´s all time roster that the elite team is missing jerseys ?? i got white jerseys there.
