Talk about NBA 2K19 here.

September 7th release for NBA 2K19 20th Anniversary Edition
September 11th NBA 2K19 20th Standard Edition Release
LeBron Coverboy for the NBA 2K19 20th Anniversary Edition
Tue Jun 05, 2018 10:01 am
Seems like an obvious choice that he would be on one of the covers. 2k being the most likely due to former ties to the brand.
Still doesn't change how bad 2k18 was.
That preorder is a no from me.

Definitely not too much of a surprise there. The official accounts have been posting 20th Anniversary Edition teasers, and notably,
this slogan:

I'd say that basically confirms another story-driven experience in MyCAREER. Something I'm
not a huge fan of.
Tue Jun 05, 2018 2:23 pm
Well my name is not DJ Freq or Pres! 2k need to stop forcing us to play as someone else
Tue Jun 05, 2018 2:27 pm
Good point. If my name is anything like they've come up with so far, I'd rather they not know my name.
Tue Jun 05, 2018 3:40 pm
I hope they revamp the whole myCareer mode and make it more appealing. I wasn't feeling it at all.
Tue Jun 05, 2018 6:47 pm
LeBron probably gonna be Cover so they need to bring back 2K14 graphics lightnings and cloth physics
comparing 15 16 17 18 to this makes me sick
Tue Jun 05, 2018 6:53 pm
MyPark is ruining the game they need to seperate park and mycareer "offline" mode

I agree, NBA 2K14 has the best graphics from all NBA 2K games in PS4 and XBOne. One of the reasons why I bought my PS4. (next to WWE and PS exclusives games)
Tue Jun 05, 2018 10:21 pm
these leaks are intentional IMO but I could not figure out the reason
Tue Jun 05, 2018 11:15 pm
CONFIRMED! LeBron James is going to be cover athlete once again, this time for NBA 2K19!

Also, it looks like only the Anniversary Edition - which is more expensive - gets the Early Tip-Off Weekend. The Prelude will be out August 31st.
Sadly, it seems that 2K's market dominance has allowed them to forego any kind of goodwill, which is disgusting after the debacle that was NBA 2K18's shameful gouging. Hopefully I'm wrong and pre-ordering the standard edition still offers the Early Tip-Off Weekend as in years past, but if not...well, that's just greedy. The 100,000 pre-order VC also suggests expensive in-game prices once again. Also, The Neighborhood is back. Ugh.

Another LeBron-centric NBA 2K game.
Life is good.
Wed Jun 06, 2018 12:57 am
Christ, can that screenshot get any more puke inducing?
"Chosen One"
"GOAT"
"I promise"
"King"
"Strive for Greatness"
"Long live the King"
I almost fell out of my chair when I realized "Witness" wasn't also on it, blew my damn mind.
Wed Jun 06, 2018 1:05 am
It could have Ronnie 2K on the cover, I guess.
Wed Jun 06, 2018 1:06 am
LMAO 5000 VC, is that good for one non-refundable haircut that you can't preview?
Wed Jun 06, 2018 1:33 am
Have to love how that cover only has his face on it, and not the rest of him. Need to avoid the Kyrie Irving fiasco of last year in case he leaves.
Store pop-ups are one thing (Like him the CLE jersey for now), store pop-ups change all the time. The games cover on the other hand needs to be more stable, guarantee that's why 2K did that. Regardless if he goes to another team or not (I bet he does), they are safe.

My Playtime over the Years really says it all...

Or one attribute point upgrade. Take your pick!

Definitely. It fits the style of the cover too, but it's hedging their bets in case he does leave. I'm still sceptical that he will, but as you said, they're safe either way.

Any expectations about VC next year ?
Wed Jun 06, 2018 3:05 am
The high amount offered in the 20th Anniversary Edition suggests that we're going to need a lot. I get the sinking feeling it's going to be as bad as in NBA 2K18.

understatement

True. I could certainly see it being worse. Forcing people to buy the more expensive 20th Anniversary Edition if they want to play it early is already moving in that direction.

Man, every year they seem to be screwing the consumer more and more. There was quite a few converts this year because of it and EA has a big opportunity to capitalize on it. Hell, it could be a selling point for their marketing

Wow, this proves me that nothing is forever.
When 2K11 was released, NBA Live was called dead. Do you see people leaning to NBA Live 18 on social media? People started to give them a shot. Now it's 2K's turn to take a fall.
Interesting. Wish NBA Live was released for PC, no matter how much it costs, I would buy it.
