Add average ratings, height, weight, age/yrs pro for teams

Postby VlaDiv on Thu Sep 16, 2004 3:46 am

I think part of the team profile when facing should add these things. Average rating of all players, not just overall rank. Average height and weight, what "size" is the team? Houston is very tall, for example. Average age or yrs pro of the team? New Orleans has many guys in year 11 or later, this is something to consider when starting dynasty mode.

I'd class it as one of those features that isn't essential, is very small but can be very useful. At the very least, it fleshes out the team profile/statistics a little more. A nice feature that sounds fairly easy to implement. I like it. :)

Once again, Vlade strikes gold. Between you and Andrew you guys have totally changed my views towards wishlists. Usually I avoid them like the plague because most times guys will have the most ridiculous things in there. I don't want to name names but there was one guy who's wish was that Live would include a mode in which a user can play 5 on 1!

Anyway, I'm an absolute stats junkie so I think that your idea would give the game even more depth. Trivial? No way. Think about it, information like "team size" helps you prepare your gameplan for an impending matchup to exploit mismatches. Sometimes we can be jaded by the fact that we're all die hard NBA fans who know all these players back to front and miss the obvious.

Sure you know who's on say, the Orlando Magic but when you see that they're a "small team" according to your stats you just might play some big guys who rarely get off the bench to exploit their weaknesses.

As far as ages? I'm feeling that too for the simple fact that instead of having to check everyone's ages independently you get an immediate idea of just what kind of team you have before starting a franchise. If it's an old team but you don't see them contending right away you might start dumping to get younger, etc. Keep the great ideas coming Vlade! (Y)
