i dont deny there's a problem about driving to the basket on 2K18, but it can be solved with sliders.

i cant understand why you dont want to touch sliders on 2K18 while you and Dee release your own sliders with your respectives (and fantastic) mods
I'm not sure at all that Dee will play 2K17 with the last .exe and the default HoF sliders. Do you on old gen 2K ?

So, should we still looping or do you want to try sliders ?

So here it is, with your sliders Sticky Fingers. This is me using the Knicks against the Warriors, and literally only driving in a straight line towards the hoop. When I stop the video, I am 10-13 from the floor, up by 4, and on pace for 160 points. It is exactly the same success with your sliders. The defense is complete garbage and broken. Look at the help defense (lack of), I am even going to post the screenshots of the sliders so the people on here can stop saying the defense is good, or better, or just overall a better experience than 2k17. You guys have to be kidding me.... this is the easiest stuff in the world. I could crush the Warriors with the Knicks by driving in a straight line all game.

There are no breaks in this video, this is straight recording, so I cant be accused of doctoring it. Its straight video capture and upload.You guys want to see why I havn't fully moved on? Watch the video and check out those sliders. Look how the defense does 0 to adjust, look how I can run passed anyone with anyone, look how uncontested I am all the time. Nextnba.. a break? The problem is, you can run by them even when they are not smothering you. They can be 5 feet off of you and you can just run by them. The sliders do nothing.

Its not as bad on the original exe or the december one. Especially going human vs human, but I can still find a challenge against the CPU. 2K18? it's no challenge at all, running in a straight line to the hoop is no challenge...

2k went from one extreme to the other. people complained about never being able to penetrate, now it's the polar opposite. all we want is some balance.

Here is why I prefer 2K17 to 2K18 defensively. Yes, 2K17 is far from perfect, and the fastbreak defense breaks down a bit much, but I actually have to work to get by my guy in the half court. I have to string together moves if I can't get by my guy off the catch with a quick first step. I love going one on one to break down my guy in 2K17, in 2K18? I can use anybody and just run by them, no moves, no help, just... run by them and score. The sliders on this video are probably the equivalent to all-star sliders.

Wait... I respect your work on sliders, but entirely disagree with your point of view. LeBron could not do that in real life, because help comes and defenses adjust, they don't in 2K18. Frank N. From the Knicks could not get by his guy 100% of the time, and if he could the defense would adjust. I could score 100 points a game in NBA 2K18 with Frank against any team on straight line drives. You. Shadymikegaming, would supply more resistance than the defense in my video.

You don't understand the gripe? I know at any point I can get into the paint when I want to, with anybody, which means no matter when I need a bucket... I can just run in. So if I'm in a close game, you expect me to take a hard shot I don't need to take, just to be realistic? Or do I need a bucket so I'll run in and hit a layup? That logic completely fails.

I do play the game realistically, that's always the goal. But when I know I can score any time I want, it takes the fun completely out of the game. You say they expect us to play it realistic? I expect a defender to come over and help, or not just stand there and jump, it goes both ways. They want us to play realistic, they need to make a realistic game.

LeBron could not do it the majority of the time, which is why he settles for bad shots at the end of game sometimes, why a lot of players settle for bad shots. That logic doesn't make any sense.

Not only could LeBron not do it all the time, he is not quick enough to do it on a lot of players in the league. Which is why in this video he continues to back in, because he can't get by Iggy with his first step, Iggy would be able to stay in front and LeBron would have to push off.

In NBA 2K18, I can run by ANYBODY with anybody for the most part, at any point. Speed ratings, everything gets thrown out the window. And, help hardly ever comes. There is nothing realistic about it, at all, and it ruins the experience when you know you can do it EVERY time.

You can't say that you dont understand the gripe, it is a very legitimate gripe.

You know what I can do In 2K18? blow by igoudala. With any 1-3 player on the roster.

You're 100% right in that it's too easy this year, and you could even say it's unacceptable, but to leverage last years game? That nonsense? That was also unacceptable. There are two sides of the spectrum we're talking about here, defense that is too easy this year (Like I said I agree with you 100%) and defense that was too hard (Like last year) not even "too hard" but I'd rather say "silly" where with all on-ball defense and contact sliders at 0 you still had to spend a whole 24 second shot clock trying to drive by Nik Stauskas with LeBron James that was nonsense and it did not represent NBA basketball in the slightest.

Now the unfortunate situation with your example is that you chose to showcase one of the top FIVE perimeter defenders the league has had in the past 10 years. There are probably not even 5 more guys in the league RIGHT NOW that can do what Iggy did in that video. RIGHT NOW. I'm actually going to stand by my original comments and say YES LeBron James does get to the rim at will. Are there maybe 1 or 2 players in the league that can stop him? EVERY NOW AND AGAIN? Sure (Do we need to look up his statline from that series? Iguodala was NOT "stopping" him as much as he was "limiting him" for the most part) but the reality of the situation is we are complaining that 2K did not represent those ONE OR TWO PLAYERS this year. That said I STILL agree with you. It's too easy for trash players to get to the rim (my set makes it a little bit harder to finish there, but you still get there too easily).

That said the reality of the situation is is 2K had to make a choice this year, just like they had to make a choice LAST year. Make it hard to penetrate and then force the community to TWEAK to make it easier? Or make it easy to drive and force the community to tweak and make it harder. Like I said I have no problem with what option they went with, just that they didn't give us the option to make on-ball defense hard ENOUGH. My slider set on ball defense is at 100 and IMO if something is at 100 then EVERY SINGLE PLAYER should be playing defense like Gary Payton, 0 everyone should be playing poorly, same goes for help-D same thing, I have it at 100, I should see guys FLYING around the court to give help to the open man, unfortunately it plays more like the slider is at 60, or 65. That is my only gripe. Not that they decided to change their approach....because IMO yes, the approach did need to be changed from last year. I just feel they may have overdone it. (or like I described, not done enough).

We disagree 100%, but we can drop it at that point. I much prefer 2K17 and the work to score, as opposed to knowing I can score whenever I want, on whoever I want, with whoever I want.

No excuses for the game, it's not acceptable on any level, at all, period. It's absolutely atrocious (I said that like Bill Walton in my head).

Layup Defense Strength (Takeoff) - 100/100

Jump Shot Defense Strength (Gather) - 50/50

with CPU shooting fouls at 40, defensive consistency at 90, Defensive awareness at 90, and shot blocking at 60/80....
