BRYANT-JORDAN RIVALRY ENDS IN OT

Image

Montreal Ravens [5-1] @ Chicago Bulls [2-4] 115-116

Nov. 9, Chicago – Michael Jordan, considered by the whole world as the greatest NBA player of all time, scored a season-high 40 points against the 21 year old Kobe Bryant who also had a great night shooting the basketball as he dropped 30 against Jordan, a feat not many can do against the greatest player to ever walk the planet.

The Ravens ended the 1st half with a 1-point lead and ended the 2nd half with a 1-point deficit no thanks to Michael Jordan’s floater with 27.2s remaining over the stretched arms of Chuck Person and Kobe Bryant. Chicago got the lead to 3 points with 8.6s remaining and Montreal saw a way to tie the game and send it to double overtime.

Coming out of the timeout, Wallace inbounded the ball to Bryant and Garnett prepared a screen for him. Bryant let it fly at the buzzer and it went in. Much to their dismay, his foot was on the line and the referees counted it as a two-pointer instead of a 3 which should’ve sent the game to 2OT.

“Well you can’t do anything about it, man. I was just out of place and my focus at that time was just to shoot the ball before the buzzer. The loss is all on me.” remarked Bryant on his last shot.

Player of the Game: Michael Jordan (40 pts, 5 rebs, 5 asts, 2 stls)

Ravens:
K. Bryant (30 pts, 4 rebs, 8 asts, 4 stls, 2 blks)
K. Garnett (24 pts, 10 rebs, 2 blks)

Bulls:
G. Stiemsma (29 pts, 11 rebs, 4 stls)
S. Pippen (17 pts, 4 rebs, 9 asts, 4 stls, 3 blks)
G. Robinson (8 pts, 2 blks)

Weird to see MJ's Bulls being sub .500, especially coming off a championship run.

RAPTORS UPSET RAVES IN 4TH QUARTER RUN

Montreal Ravens [10-2] vs [8-4] 113-126

Nov. 20, Montreal – Both Toronto and Montreal were on a 5-game win streak and it was only a matter of time before somebody has to lose and end their streak and for the most part of the game, it seemed like the Ravens were the clear winner in this Canadian matchup.

Toronto was down by 15 points in the 4th quarter but a barrage of threes from Nick Van Exel and Peja Stojakovic started a 21-0 run by the Raptors. No matter what they do, the Ravens just couldn’t answer back and saw their lead get cut down to pieces until they were the ones down by 13 at the end of the game.

Stojakovic had 12 points in 4-4 shooting from downtown and Van Exel was 6-9 from downtown as well. Barkley led the Raptors in scoring with 27 points and 12 rebounds.

“Shots were just falling for us. They couldn’t catch up with us at the end of the game since they were very tired.” Said Stojakovic.

Bryant had 28 points but shot 1 for 8 beyond the arc tonight while Ben Wallace had a career-high 23 points and 10 rebounds while only missing 1 of his 12 shots.

Player of the Game: Charles Barkley (27 pts, 12 rebs, 3 stls)

Ravens:
K. Bryant (28 pts, 4 rebs, 3 asts, 2 stls)
K. Garnett (25 pts, 4 rebs, 3 blks)
B. Wallace (23 pts, 10 rebs, 4 asts)

Raptors:
C. Smith (21 pts, 5 rebs, 9 asts)
M. Harpring (20 pts, 5 rebs, 1 stl)
D. Stoudamire (17 pts, 2 rebs, 5 asts)

If the Grizzlies were this good when they played in Vancouver, maybe they'd still be there. :| Oh well, at least they're loved in Memphis I guess.

Tough loss to the Raps but your team is stacked. You can really give the Bulls a run for their money this year... if they even make the playoffs that is.

Valor, he's actually rated slightly higher than what I would credit him so maybe thats why.

Montreal’s Chauncey Billups out for 4-6 months for torn hamstring

The Ravens just couldn’t get a break. Starting point guard Chauncey Billups is sidelined for 4 to 6 months following a torn right hamstring. Without him in the lineup, there is no one capable of playing as a point guard except B.J. Armstrong who is recovering from an injury himself. Montreal has been reportedly been linked to the Chicago Bulls for a trade that might happen at the end of the month.

Corliss Williamson out for 2-4 weeks for strained hamstring

Williamson suffered the same but not as painful experience as Chauncey Billups. Williamson will be out for a whole month at least after tearing his hamstring in his last game versus the Celtics. Williamson will be replaced by sharpshooter Burton in the lineup.
