GAME 2

Image vs Image

Starting Lineups
Toronto Raptors : Sacramento Kings
Loren Woods : Brad Miller
Chris Bosh : Chris Webber
Josh Childress : Peja Stojakovic
Vince Carter : Doug Christie
Rafer Alston : Mike Bibby

1ST HALF

The game started with the Raptors just dominating the Kings. The 1st quarter was ridiculously high scoring, and the Raptors came out of the first quarter with a 16 point lead (39 to 23), lead by Bosh who finished the quarter with 13 points, and also lead by Rafer Alston who notched 7 assists in the 1st Quarter. The 2nd Quarter was significantly different. The Kings dominated, and the Raptors 2nd stringers had absolutely no impact on the 2nd Quarter. The Kings outscored the Raptors 27 to 16 in the 2nd Quarter and the Raptors found themselves only up by 5 points at the half. Now here are some highlights of the 1st Half.

2ND HALF

At the begining of the 2nd Half the Raptors found themselves only up by 5 after having their 16 1st Quarter point lead cut down. The Raptors faught throughout the 3rd Quarter but to no avail. They found themselves down by 3 points at the end of the 3rd, and they were slowly slipping. The 4th Quarter was extremely close matched but when it counted the Raptors players stepped up big by making big steals, blocks and shots. Even though the Raptors shot 46.7% (7/15) from the FT Line, they were still able to stay in the game mentally. And so at the end of the game the Toronto Raptors came out on top with a 6 point victory. Here are some of the highlights from the 2nd Half. Enjoy.

Toronto Raptors Key Players of the Game:
Chris Bosh : 22pts, 6rebs, 3blk and 1ast
Rafer Alston : 8pts, 12ast,3stl, 5reb
Josh Childress : 25pts, 1reb, 2blk, 3stl, 2 of 2 from beyond the ark

The Bulls are up next on the Raptors schedule. Stay tuned for the Highlights.

RAPTORS 2GUARDS MAYBE DEALT
Image

"Hello, and welcome to my Column."

"Todays news comes from an inside source of your Toronto Raptors,
and this inside and unnamed source is claiming that both GM Rob Babcock
and Head Coach Sam Mitchell are very upset at their shooting guards play. NO, not Vince Carter, this source is talking about shooting guards Morris Peterson and Kyle Korver. In the first two games of the season, they have managed to do nothing. There was very high expectations of both, especially for Morris Peterson who got a 3yr/13 million dollar contract in the summer, and has not shown any of his previous play of the past years. He has played with no defense, offense and no sign of hitting three pointers either. He has gone 0-6 in the first two games and could be on his way out. Come on now, the big 6'11, 290LBS rookie out BYU Rafael "Hoffa" Araujo has already hit a three pointer, and it was with a man in his face. Kyle Korver has also been a disapointment but has hit one three, he is actually 1/4, so I really don't see him being traded. He has reason to slip from last years stats and the reasons are that it's hard to compete with that high of a percentage from beyond the ark (39%) for such a young guy with that little experience, and also he has been traded from Philadelphia to Toronto, and he didn't even see it coming. Expect Kyle Korver to go no where, but don't be surprised if either Mo-Pete or Korver get dealt."

"Players that you might hear in reported talks maybe the likes of Qyntel Woods from the TrailBlazers, who has had a substance abuse problem (not steroids), but could be at his best so far this season and would compliment any teams roster. You may also hear Jason Kapono's name floating around, in a possible swap for Korver. The names are endless and they are just a couple of the possible players that could come to Toronto."

"Thank You for your time, and don't be surprised."

Always a pleasure!

Raptors deal again

Postby e.z.o on Wed Sep 01, 2004 11:13 am

Toronto Raptors News Conference - Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at 8:30P.M.

"Hello, and welcome to this last minute secheduled News Conference with myself (Rob Babcock), and Sam Mitchell. I would like to start things off by saying that we both have some exciting and important news to share with you all if you would just let us talk for a minute."

"I would like to let all of you know that the rumors surrounding Morris Peterson and Kyle Korver are true, and that we have been shopping them out to other teams due to their nonaffective play. I would also like to say that we the Toronto Raptors have completed two trades on this day and that both Morris Peterson and Kyle Korver have been dealt. The reasons for the deals were like I said that they have played nonaffective basketball, and also we saw a chance to save money in these two deals, and so we went for it, considering we got some really good talent and young guys, and also a deeper bench." The trades are as follows:

Trade #1
To Portland TrailBlazers : Morris Peterson and Kyle Korver
To Toronto Raptors : Qyntel Woods, Sebastien Telfair and Viktor Khryapa

Trade #2
To Los Angeles Lakers : Viktor Khryapa and Corie Blount who signed a 1yr before the trade.
To Toronto Raptors : Kareem Rush

Here is Sam Mitchell's thought on the deals.

"I personally feel that this trade definitely helps our ball club, as we get scoring, young talent and a deeper bench while still saving money. This deal gives us a steady backup shooting guard who could also see minutes in point guard, that being Kareem Rush. Sebastien Telfair gives us more depth at point guard, but is a work in progress, as it shall take a couple of years for him to be fully prepared to play full-time in the NBA, but he will have stiff competition facing Rafer and Delonte for the starting spot in a couple of years. And last but not least we also got Qyntel Woods who will be a solid backup small forward and shooting guard. He has faced problems in the past with drug issues, but we feel he has matured and that we are willing to take a chance on him. So overall I think we succeeded in making our tem better for now and for the future."

Man, this is awesome!

You're going to start a trend of these message board dynasties! Heh.

Cool stuff. I like your rookie but tell him he needs to rebound and pass more from the 3... ;)

So you gonna get stats up?

Once I get Live '05 for my PC (I have '04 for my PS/2), I'm going to run a dynasty up here as well. Maybe I can pirate some space on your page and we can do a "one-stop dynasty shop" thing or whatever.

But yeah, what are the ratings on your rook?

which rook, i have a total of 5 rookies. I am guessing that you are talking about Liberal Almeida. Well, he is 75 overall, which in my game is a really good bench player and on some teams a starter. You see, i've done my own ratings for almost every player in the game and I base the ratings on per 48 minute stats, and i base the rookies ratings on a per 40 minute college stats. So my ratings are a hell uv a lot higher than everyone else's. I have done ratings like that for both Live 03 and Live 04.
My guy is a big dunker and a 3 point shooter, and his 3's are at 85, which is a pretty good rating for 3's. The way I do my ratings an 85 in 3's would be for a player that shoots 36%. I hope this sort of helps you understand, as i am not all that great at explaining things.

GAME 3

Image vs Image

Starting Lineups
Toronto Raptors : Chicago Bulls
Loren Woods : Dikembe Mutombo
Chris Bosh : Antonio Davis
Josh Childress : Luol Deng
Vince Carter : Scottie Pippen
Rafer Alston : Kirk Hinrich

1st Quarter

1st was even but the raps were edged by 1 point at the end of the 1st. Many great defensive plays but also many smart offensive sets by both clubs. CB-4 was the best player in the quarter registering 11 points, 6 rebounds and 1 block.

2nd Quarter

The 2nd Quarter was time for newcomers Qyntel Woods and Kareem Rush to show what they are about, but Sebastien Telfair will have to wait for his chance with his new club till next game. Both Kareem Rush and Qyntel Woods started the quarter off slow but got back into the groove. Woods finished the quarter pitching in 5 points while Rush was the Raptors biggest
offensive threat in the quarter with 9 points. Donyell was the best defensive Raptor in the quarter with his 3 blocks. Hoffa played great and managed to get himself 7 rebounds in the quarter. The 1st half finished with the Raptors being up by 1. Now here are some 1st half highlights.

3rd Quarter

The 3rd Quarter was evenly matched between both teams, but the Raptors played really hard and managed to outscore the Bulls by 10 points in the Quarter extending their lead to 11 points heading into the 4th Quarter. Vince was 7 of 9 from the FT line in the 3rd and learned that if he plays aggresive and takes it to the defense then he will get to the line. CB-4 ended up with a total of 20 points and 10 rebounds at the end of the 3rd to give him his 1st double-double of the season.

4th Quarter

The 4th Quarter was very uptempo, and both teams played extremely well during the last quarter. The Bulls rookie Luol Deng was hot in the game from beyond the ark going 7 of 9 from downtown. The Raptors showed signs of letting go of the game, but quickly stop that by knocking down shots, getting rebounds and going to the line. Nonetheless, the Raptors where able to pull out with the 12 point victory. Now here are some highlights from the 2nd half, and I hope you all enjoyed the game, and I hope you join us next time. Have a good one.

CB-4 was awarded the Speed Stick Player of the Game award with his first double-double of the season. Bosh finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks.

Toronto Raptors Key Players
Donyell Marshall : 7pts, 5reb, 4blk, 1stl
Rafael Araujo : 4pts, 13reb, 1ast
Liberal Almeida : 14pts, 2reb, 3blk, 2ast
Kareem Rush : 14pts, 3stl, 2ast
Vince Carter : 19pts, 1reb, 1blk

The Nuggets are up next on the Raptors schedule. Stay tuned for the highlights

Game 4 - Toronto Raptors at Denver Nuggets

Postby e.z.o on Fri Sep 03, 2004 2:47 pm

Game 4

1st Quarter

The game opened up with Denver winning the tip, then both practically went shot for shot as no one really took a lead. The main player in the quarter was Loren Woods with 8 rebounds and really good defense. Andre Miller also played good in the 1st with his pin-point passes and lightning speed which helped him get passed his defender and slam it down one-handed style. The Nuggets went into the 2nd with a 5 point lead.

2nd Quarter

Denvers 5 point lead was soon evaporated as the Raptors started playing tight D, and started making nice plays on offense. Kareem Rush lit up the 2nd with his 6 trey's. He was amazingly hot, and notched 18 points in 8 minutes. The Rookie out of HS Sebastien Telfair played extremely nice despite all low expectations. The young pg managed to get 5pts, 2reb, 2stl and 3ast in 8min. The Raptors went from being down by 5 at the begining of the quarter into being up by 12 at the end of the half. Here are some first half highlights.

3rd Quarter

The Raptors started the 3rd with a 12 point lead and extended it early by once again playing supreme D and also some great downlow play by Loren Woods who notched his first career double-double with having 11 points and 10 rebounds at the end of the 3rd. The Raptors played fairly sloppy by taking too many trey's, but were able to keep their lead, and be up by 14 heading into the 4th.

4th Quarter

The Nuggets begin the 4th down by 14, and quickly trimmed it down, but the Raptors got back and then the Nuggets and Raptors were going point for point and finally the Raptors players came up with big offensive and defensive rebounds along with blocks and free throws in the clutch. The Raptors once again let up and the Nuggets slowly crept back as the Raptors would get fouled and go to the line and usely miss 1 or both free throws and then the Nuggets would score in transition. The Nuggets got as close as 3 points but ended up losing by 5 points. Hope you enjoyed this Raptors game and hope to see you next time. Now here are some of the highlights from the 2nd half.

Loren Woods has been awarded the Speed Stick Player of the Game award as he had his 1st career double-double with his 16 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks.

Toronto Raptors Key Players
Kareem Rush : 23pts, 2reb, 4ast
Liberal Almeida : 10pts, 6reb, 1blk, 1stl, 1ast
Vince Carter : 20pts, 1reb, 1blk, 1ast

The Knicks are up next on the Raptors schedule. Stay tuned for the highlights

It looks like it will be Rafael Araujo, Stromile Swift and Shaquille O'Neal being the 3 centers in the VC All-Star Game, and if no one different gets a vote, than I will be forced to choose between Chris Andersen, Yao Ming or Jamaal Magloire. It's getting down to the wire, and I think tonight is the last night, but i'm not sure.

*Remember, this week in the poll will be the Power Forwards.
