Those arms lol

But this is a ton better than last year. After watching ghetto gameplay I'm impressed

My gawd those arms. This is the first time I am complaining about the body models. For days now, I've seen people complain about Durant and I've tried to remain positive. But I can't hold it in anymore, the college player body model looks unhuman, I hope they patch it within the first two months after the game is released. My 4 years old cousin can draw a better body model with his feet.

Well it looks like they're giving everyone the high school body model. The amount of criticism they're getting from it they should change it.... but if they don't, that says it all really.

Why are 2K giving everyone the same body types. So far every screenshot everyone has the default body type which makes them look so chubby.

Yeah, 2k16's broad shoulders model fit Jimmy Butler better.

His trapezius muscles don't slope like that.

Preorder cancelled. :P

On another note, having different body types is difficult because they will end up warping to the animation, anyways. So a body type with broad shoulders will end up with narrow shoulders during an animations captured from a player with narrow shoulders. Or long arms or short arms, etc.

Ugh.... 2K are really making me want to not buy this game. The plain laziness... it's an obvious copy - paste. It only takes a couple minutes to fix! Not to mention that it's too small and the colour is wrong.

Didn't they have a similar issue last year?

Re: NBA 2K17 - Screenshots

Sat Aug 20, 2016 9:31 am

I know it sucks for console players, but none of this shit bothers me since I'm on PC. This can all be fixed through modding. Gameplay on the other hand, can't be fixed by us, so that's on the more important side.

Re: NBA 2K17 - Screenshots

If things like that turn out to be our biggest complaint though, then the game's in pretty good shape. Obviously we want to see authenticity and accuracy, but I'll gladly overlook stuff like that if I'm enjoying the gameplay experience. It can always be modded, or patched by 2K themselves.

Re: NBA 2K17 - Screenshots

Regardless whether or not it's easily fixable with mods, it's still very curious as to how that happens.
You'd think a whole team of basketball and NBA enthusiasts, and presumably perfectionists, would immediately notice something like that.
And considering it's a small change on the texture it's not like it's something that takes ages to fix.

Yeah, that is odd. I'm sure they've heard the complaints about it, so it is a bit curious as to why it isn't fixed. I'm sure they're very busy, but it would literally take two or three minutes to fix.

2K doesn't notice this since 2K14 Next Gen. The fact that they give no shit on these kind of small details annoys me.

WRONG. NUMBER. FONT. FOR. BULLS

Re: NBA 2K17 - Screenshots

Is it possible they don't have a license for that font?

Re: NBA 2K17 - Screenshots

What kind of a license?

It there exists, they do! Look at Jordan

Similar problem goes for Brooklyn Nets.

Then we will.

I gotta say 2k is quite bad at face scanning. Look at PES2017 and the way FCBarcelona players look. We, modders. end up doing a better job at creating cf with pics from Google. C'mon, you are scanning those players with mutiple cameras. There's no way Durant, Curry and others don't look identic...

Re: NBA 2K17 - Screenshots

Sun Aug 21, 2016 7:06 am

Huh? Durant's face looks spot on. He looks nothing like Curry in that screenshot. :?

Re: NBA 2K17 - Screenshots

Sun Aug 21, 2016 7:49 am

I mean identic to their real reference. We don't have the same definition of spot on.

This is accuracy

Bro, Iv'e been thinking this for a while. There's no way in hell that you can do a true 3D face scan and still be off. Even with no scan, with all the resources available to 2K, they still find a way to mess up even some of the big name players. You and others do such a great job getting CFs so right. They're very lucky we don't have the modding ease as 2K14, because we'd actually freak it and make them look so bad. And those PES scans are crazy accurate.

You guys are being very nitpicky. Is that really the message we want to send to 2k? Make minor cosmetics a high priority?

I can live with minor jersey and face inaccuracies. But if key gameplay and MyLEAGUE modes improvements get neglected then i'll be frustrated. I'm sick of the same shit every year. The game is full of new bells and whistles & gimmicks every year but the core game improves at a very slow pace.

The difference is that this takes literally minutes to fix. It's not that major of a thing to fix.

If I could have a 2k13 graphics game with the craziest gameplay ever I would do it. Gameplay will always be over graphics, for sure. But gameplay is one of the craziest nighmare's to fix. It involves algorithms and other crazy mathematics. A CF with the scan resources 2K has takes 2 hours at much. And on top of that, they still cant get them right.

While I agree for the most part - like I said, if these end up being our biggest complaints with the game, then it's in pretty good shape and we have a fine experience on our hands - it is a little puzzling to see stuff like this, or the "Thudner" alternate for the Oklahoma City Thunder a few years back*. They are aiming for authenticity after all, and there's no apparent technical limitation causing these inaccuracies, so it's a fair criticism...in the appropriate context, of course.

*I like to think that the "Thudner" mistake was actually a deliberate potshot at the design of the jersey, knowing full well that it could be fixed later via the official art updates.
